I am very happy with this tripod. It is light weight and feels durable enough to hold up to glassing for animals with my binos from the seated position. At fully extended height it might be a little too flimsy for a larger spotting scope but will hold binos. Because most of my looking will be from seated it will work fine. I only gave it 4 stars because I wish there was an option to get a fluid pan head rather than a ball head. I spent the extra money to get a fluid head but maybe it could be offered without head to save some cost. Hunting gear is very much overpriced and this should do the trick.

This 3-star review relates only to weight handling capacity of the tripod not to the construction, build quality, or functionality of the product. If you generally use lightweight camera gear this might well be the tripod for you. Can't beat the carbon fiber construction or the features built into the tripod. Just not capable of supporting heavier professional camera gear with adequate stability. Easy to deploy in various configurations. Experimented only with the tripod personally, found it necessary to purchase a more robust unit.
