Description

Mirrorless cameras aren't only revolutionary because of their compact size; they're even more versatile for mounting lenses than their full-sized counterparts! Fotodiox offers strong support for mirrorless camera platforms with hundreds of options for mounting both modern and vintage lenses. Our adapters deliver infinity focus, manual aperture control, and a sturdy build for lasting quality. Compatible Sony E-mount Cameras (including but not limited to): a7/7R/7S, a7/7R/7S II, a7/7R/7S III, a7R IV, a9, a5000, a5100, a6000, a6100, a6300, a6400, a6500, a6600, NEX-3, NEX-5/5N/5R/5T, NEX-6, NEX-7, NEX-C3, NEX-F3, QX1. Please Note: This is a manual adapter, so lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body (autofocus, AE metering, image stabilization, etc. ) will be disrupted. Set your camera to “Manual’ or ‘Aperture Priority’ for metering. If camera does not release be sure to enable ‘shoot without lens’ in camera settings. We state “infinity focus allowed” because our adapters are designed to be universal which can prevent some lenses from focusing to infinity at the infinity mark.

  • Absolutely worth the money if you can do without autofocus
Size: Sony A-Mount/MAF Style: Standard
I am a natural skeptic, and I go straight for the negative reviews first when I'm researching something. I have to say, if you can't figure out how to use this, throw your camera away. This fits perfectly onto my Sony A7iii body to adapt my lenses from my older A55V! I was a bit afraid when I got the package today and saw "A mount to NEX" on the box, but it perfectly adapts A mount lenses to the E mount body. I am actually pleasantly surprised to see zero vignetting on my Sony 55-200 4-56 lens. It is made for a crop sensor camera after all. The one con for me, besides the no auto focus, is that the aperture ring doesn't have click for stops or markings of any kind. I must have forgetting that, but seriously for $20 it is still totally worth it to me. The construction feels solid, and the connections to both the camera and lens are great. ***Be sure to move the little silver button backwards to unlock the pin from your lense before turning to remove the lens.*** ... show more

  • Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Canon EOS Lens to Sony Alpha NEX E-Mount
I'd give this more stars if I had a bit more control over my lens. That being said, I use this adapter a lot on my NEX 5R/KB. I got this adapter to see if it would work as a fill in for my 40 D and so far it does. Aside from the fact that you have to manual focus the lens all the time I think it is great. I've had the 18-250 Tamron lens mounted on this camera ever since I got the adapter. I may never take it off unless I want more control over my depth of field. I wasn't aware that I would have no control over the f-stop when I purchased the adapter. I suppose I wasn't using my head when I did it but I have no complaints, currently. I've had my 18-250 lens for many years so I am comfortable with using it. Though it is bigger than the camera. If you want something that will allow you to use any EOS lens on your Sony camera I'd not hesitate to tell people go get this adapter although I would state that there is no f-stop adjusting. There is but I don't like the idea of taking lenses of my camera with the power still on. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it. That's why I won't try to do it and it sort of defeats the purpose because you'd have to carry an EOS body with you when you use the camera. I've not run into a situation that I actually need more control to get my exposure right. I believe the adapter defaults the lens to f-3.5 so I can use ISO and shutter speed changes to accomodate the exposure. I would also like it if the tripod mount were made to be removable. It has a couple of Phillips screws in it but that isn't something I'm going to mess with. It is a very nice accessory to have on your camera. I have several L glass lenses but I think for the time being I'll just stick with the 18-250 Tamron as my 'walk around' lens for the moment. ... show more

  • Sensational
Size: Leica M Style: Standard
I use this adapter with my Nex-5 that I bought on december 3, 010. I am going today for 1500 photos. I normally use 2 Leica's, M3 and M6 TTL. For personal reasons I don't really like the M8's nor the M9. This adapter gave me the opportunity to enter in digital photography with all the fine lenses I purchased over the years: Summarit 5 cm f/1.5; Leitz Hector 13.5 cm f/4.5; VC 15mm f/4.5 (1st version, need adapter); VC 35mm f/1.4 S.C.; Leica Noctilux 50mm f/1 and VC 90mm f/3.5 Apo Lanthar. I tried them all and was able to obtain a very critical focus without any problem. The manual focus assist of the camera definitely helps, but, without the lens been properly aligned by the adapter, focusing could be complicate. The images I am obtaining are very pleasing, the focus is excellent with them all. I did not experience difficulties with the VC 15mm as related by another customer. Could be the 1st version of the lens? If you are used to manual focusing this adapter is a little gem. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Defective lens release lever and aperture control
Size: Sony A-Mount/MAF Style: Standard
The good: Solid construction, with the exception of the lens release lever. And the adapter mounted on and off the Sony NEX-3 nicely. The potential to use my Alpha lenses on my E-mount camera was palpable. The bad: The lens release lever was faulty and kind of flimsy. It took me 20 minutes & needle nose pliers to get enough leverage to finally release the adapter from the lens. In the end, I had to pull and lift the "release" tab (which looks differently than in the picture by the way) simultaneously while twisting it and the adapter toward the "mounting on" direction to loosen, and then while still lifting the tab, I had to twist the adapter body in the opposite "unmounting" direction to release. I'm just glad I was able to save my lens without damage. And the adapter's aperture control ring does not open the aperture fully even though the adapter's ring went as far as it would. It's also not stop calibrated. Even though the NEX can compensate for this, there are no markings or stop points for the actual aperture values on the adapter ring so it's difficult to say how a picture was taken and difficult to reproduce. Everything becomes by eye or feel. I suppose had the lens dismounting not been a problem, I could have engraved grooves or drawn, but that at least should have been there already. I took a picture and it seems to have focused ok, but not worth the drama. Too bad it worked so poorly because I have a Minolta-MC/MD-lens-to-NEX adapter from a different company, Rainbowimaging I think though I'm not sure if the manufacturers are different, and it's perfect. However, it doesn't have the tripod foot, and manual aperture control is achieved by the actual lenses since they are of the 1970s and earlier era. But they mount on and off the adapter and adapter to camera perfectly - snug and smooth. Not this one. Far from it. Returns are easy enough with Amazon (thank you), but hassle and disappointment were still there. So my options are the much more expensive Sony options or a better generic, but I haven't come across the latter, and Sony reviews of the non-mirror adapter are mixed. Does anyone have any good suggestions? ... show more
