What a very pleasant surprise! I ordered an XL. I am 511 and 210 pounds. The fit and quality of this garment is outstanding! There is enough room underneath for me to wear a suit, jacket or thick sweat sweater. It is extremely elegant looking and the shoulders stand up, which give it a substantially refined look. It looks like it is a vastly more expensive garment. It is thick and warm and has comfortable pockets lined with soft material. It is thick and substantial but lightweight. I am allergic to goose feathers so I don’t have to worry about being pricked with a feather tip or sneezing.I am absolutely overjoyed with it.

Fits like it should, keeps me warm, so far no rips or tears so it seems good quality to me. I can usually be comfortable in a sweater and this jacket in 30 degree weather. It seems light compared to most of the clothes I wear and it isn't to puffy to be bulky. Goes down to my knees. Overall pleased with it when walking the dog at night.

Cloudy 10 degrees, a 15 MPH wind and blowing snow. Feels like -7, according to the local report. I was warm. I selected a coat one size too large so I could layer better and not be constricted by the added clothing. The coat falls 6 inches below my knees. I'm 5'9". Also, I like the added sleeve length. The longer sleeves allow me to tuck my hands into the sleeve. The cuffs sealed out the wind. FYI, I wore the coat when it was in the 30s. I was too warm. What may be warm for me may be OK for others.

Impressed by the quality and that it keeps me toasty on 10 degrees F days. The only issue is the interior pocket zipper always gets stuck. On the positive I love how the coat has snap on buttons covering the zipper. Nice and warm!

WOW! Unbelievably warm for such an inexpensive coat! We were in NYC for New Year's Eve and it was 25 degrees, very windy, and light snow. With proper layers on I couldn't even tell it was cold. I 100% recommend this coat!

I paid a little more than $45 for the new and improved long puffer coat from Amazon Essentials. I bought the previous design almost 2 years ago and was pleased to see Amazon redesigned the coat based on customer reviews. Overall, this heavyweight coat is a bargain if you can get it on sale below $50. This is not an everyday coat. It is for extreme conditions. If you are from the Northeast, you could probably wear a t-shirt under this and feel warm. If you are from the Southern States, you may still need to wear layers in extreme weather. The length from the top of the zipper, (the chin), to the bottom is about 40 inches. For taller individuals, the coat will be slightly above the knee. For shorter individuals, the length could be at your calf. The longer length makes it more difficult it wear in a car. If you walk dogs in the winter, this is the perfect coat to block the wind. The coat is NOT waterproof. I usually spray my jackets and coats with Scotch Guard every 2 years to help repel rain or snow. IMPROVEMENTS: - The hood is now removable thanks to a hidden zipper behind the collar. - There are now zippers on the sides on the lower end of the coat. This allows the wearer to feel less constricted while walking in a longer length coat while still blocking the wind in the front and back of your calves. - The front zippers are still small but are sturdier and don't get stuck like previous versions. A major improvement. - The front zipper now has a covered flap with snap buttons. This essentially blocks any wind from blowing through the zipper. You can button the coat without using the zippers. - The side hand pockets now have a button snap. This should help prevent your gloves or keys from accidentally falling out. STILL NEEDS FIXING: - Amazon made the neck size smaller and tighter. If you wear sizes LARGE through 6 X-LARGE, Amazon should be aware that our neck sizes are larger. Why would you make the neck tighter and narrower? Although, I can fit a LARGE, I usually order X-LARGE because I prefer a looser fit. This includes the neck. I could barely zip up to the top or snap the top button without choking. Look at the photos of all the big and tall reviews. Isn't it obvous that we have larger necks? At a minimum, Amazon needs to increase the circumference of the neck by 2 inches. 4 inches would be ideal. - The inside pocket zipper is still small and flimsy. I expect the zipper to break off soon. - The hood is still slightly oversized. Instead of skimping on extra material around the neck, Amazon should just reduce the length of the hood and apply the material to widen the neck size. I find that I can cuff the hood so it doesn't cover my eyes. If I wear a baseball cap, the hood can "hook" onto the top of the brim and stay in place. The hood definitely blocks the wind. - With the added metal zippers the coat feels about a half pound heavier than the previous version. The coat is probably 3.5 lbs. - Expect to look heavy and extra wide wearing this coat. This is clearly not a lightweight packable jacket. 😀
