  • Pricey but Worth It
Style: JQG7505 Range Hood
The media could not be loaded. Update on 01/03/2020: A video of cooking is attached, showing that the smoke is effectively sucked out. Three of my friends and one of my neighbors were using FOTILE #7501, all of them recommended it, so I finally pulled the trigger on this new product #7505, which has more power levels (4 vs 3), higher CFM (600 vs 510 according to other website, not sure the accuracy), and fancy waving feature. After using it for two weeks with light cooking, here is my impression. Pros: 1. Prompt customer services. Ordered on Nov 24, delivered on Dec 6 (should be earlier, not sure why UPS kept it at the facility near my house for two days), contacted customer services right after delivery, installed on Dec 7. 2. Professional and quick installation. The contractor got it done within an hour: removed the old over-the-range microwave, installed some panels on the wall, cut the cabinet to fit the vent pipe, carried and installed the 70+ lbs range hood by himself, replaced and taped a portion of the vent pipe. 3. Good suction power: The old over-the-range microwave (installed by previous home owner) was useless when cooking peppers, onions, chives, etc., and I had to close all the doors upstairs and opened the window wide, but it was still smelly hours after cooking. After installing this range hood, I particularly tried peppers with more corn oils, ingredients, and higher gas power. I could see the smoke and water vapor being sucked into the range, and no smell upstairs after cooking. Cons: 1. Pricey. $1299 plus 6% tax minus 5% Discover cashback, final price around $1300. This is more expensive then other brands on Amazon, and the same brand in China with similar functions is also cheaper. In addition, the installation fee was $200, which was covered by FOTILE during the holiday promotion period, so I just needed to sign an installation completion form, and the contractor will get the money from FOTILE. However, I need to pay $30 for the materials (tape and a portion of vent pipe provided by the contractor, not FOTILE). That being said, when this holiday promotion period ends, you should expect to pay more than $200 for installation, but it varies depending on location and how difficult to install. 2. The stainless steel oil cup is easy to get fingerprint on it. When I helped the contractor to peel off the cover from the oil cup during installation, my fingerprint was everywhere on it. So, remember to wear a glove. Tips: 1. Although it is winter, I still recommend open the window when using it, if the window is near the range hood. No need to open it wide, just a very small gap that you hand can feel a small amount of air coming in. Because the suction power is high, the gap can balance the pressure (particularly for good insulation house) and help air flow when the greasy smoke is sucked out. Overall, taking into account the big improvement during cooking (compare to the useless microwave), the 5-year warranty, and my parents are coming with more cooking, I am happy with this product. ... show more

  • Good Looking and Super Suction Power
Style: JQG7505 Range Hood
The media could not be loaded. I have used this hood for 3 weeks. I am pretty happy with it so far. Pros: - Very good looking. The cover glass looks like a real mirror. - Suction power is super. It has four suction levels. I used the level 2 and level 3 often. These levels are powerful enough. The level 4 is super powerful but noisy, so I used it occasionally. Compared with my old GE hood, this one is much much more powerful. - Some fancy functions. I don't care about these functions much, but they are a real plus. The no touch ON/OFF function and the delay off function are used every day. - Noise level is not bad. When I used the level 2 and level 3, the noise level was acceptable. But this hood is not a real quiet one. Again, compared with my old GE hood, this one is quieter, but not a super quiet one. Cons: - Pricey. It costs me around $1,300 plus tax. They reimbursed me $150 to cover the installation cost because of the pre-order promotion. I think it is still pricey. - Hard to install. I cannot install this big guy by myself. Fotile provided me a contractor to install it. The total cost of the installation is $240. Fotile paid $150, I paid the rest $90. Overall, this hood is a good buy. If your budget is not too tight, I would recommend this one. ... show more

  • Customer Support? What's that?
Style: JQG7505 Range Hood
Updated: After several weeks I got a new set of LED lights in the mail. Never did hear anything from customer service, but at least I got them. Reinstalling the LEDs was not difficult. I hope these ones last because the hood works great. Original: One month after buying this hood one of the LED lights burned out. I contacted Fotile customer service and finally got through after days of trying. They asked me to email them a video of it not working (which seemed strange) and I did. Three weeks later and several emails I have not heard back from them. I now have a thousand plus dollar hood with one light. Their "professional support team" is dubious at best and next to non-existent. I had my doubts about this product and its origins, but I trusted the reviews. I am starting to regret that and am wondering what will break next. I hope they answer or write me back, because other than the LED issue, the hood SO FAR seems good. ... show more

  • Fantastic kitchen exhaust hood!
Style: JQG7505 Range Hood
This hood is phenomenal! It's quiet and really exhausts -- at 1000cfm compared to most hoods ~300cfm there is no worry about smells in the kitchen any more! Be sure to check it carefully though, I did not open the box until the kitchen guys came to do the install and found that 1 side was pushed in causing the sheet metal to buckle on the top. It was visible when we got the hood up. Amazon was great and sent a replacement. At first I thought it was a manufacturing defect but when we went to pack the damaged hood back up we realized that all the styrofoam was broken on that side and the tape on the bottom of the box was broken. There was no visible damage to the box but it must have been hit by something that pushed the side in denting the sheet metal and breaking the styrofoam. If the damage had not been so visible I would not have bothered to return it but the dent was really obvious. It's a bit pricey but for me it's worth the cost to not smell food in the bedroom any more :) Now I just need to replace the gas supply valve and get the 5-burner Fotile cooktop installed and everything will be perfect! Thank you Fotile for making fantastic products! ... show more

  • Beyond my expectations!
Style: JQG7505 Range Hood
Called Fotile and arranged the professional installation, cost around $200. They came the next day, even vacuum the dust and recycled the packages after the installation, great job! The range hood itself is also very powerful and quiet. Put it through a stress test the same day cooking a steak with garlic and butter. The smoke is all sucked away and the living room cannot smell anything. Magical! ... show more
