  • Aesthetic Open Heart Watch: Beautiful & Great Value for an Automatic
Color: Brown Leather/Silver/Green Size: 44MM
First Impressions: The watch is very beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the watch upon first opening it. Everything from the texture of the watch to the color, raised roman numerals, and layout is striking. The case finishing, which is polished stainless steel, contrasts beautifully with the minimalist matte-like dial. The open heart action is a mesmerising addition in an otherwise elgant watch. The seconds dial sweeps, appearing virtually smooth due to its miniature size relative to a traditional (third) seconds hand. The logo sits nicely on top of a pyramid stud texture, providing depth and adding a tailored look to the watch. The craftsmanship exceeds my expectations for the price and I am pleased to add this watch to my collection. The leather strap that comes with the package is of great quality and compliments the watch. I am pleased to say I was suprised as the strap is much better than the leather strap on my more expensive Orient Bambino 😂 I opted to replace the OEM strap with a third-party dark green leather strap and I was dumbfounded at how beautiful it turned out. I would 100% recommend those buying this watch to install a strap that matches or is complimentary to their dial color as it brought out unexpected depth and beauty out of an already solid watch. The watch sports mineral glass, so definitely be careful with stratches in passing or doing activities that might damage it. I use this watch primarily on special or formal occasions/outings so that is not a deal-breaker for me. The watch is on the larger size for a dress watch which makes it a little more bold but retains formality. The movement is a Miyota 82S0 (21-Jewel) rated at -20/+40 seconds a day. It has a power reserve of 42 hours. It is a skeleton version of the model denoted by the "S" in the movements model name. It is a good workhorse movement that is reliable and easy to service if needed in the future. The watch is comfortable out of the box and best (in my opinion) with a leather strap. It runs well and is nice to use in all events, casual and formal. I've had many of my friends and family compliment it. I love this watch and can't help but look at it throughout the day. No battery is needed, it simply runs on the user. The lume is a nice addition— albeit, purely aesthetic serving no functionality as it is only on the dots adjacent to their corresponding roman numerals. It is a beautiful watch that punches above it's price 10/10 would buy again great watch. ... show more

  • Fossil Townsman - Auto for a good price
Color: Brown Leather/Black/Brown Size: 48MM
I absolutely love Fossil watches, or at least, the ones I own. I was quite happy to see this on go on sale about a year ago now. Of the four Fossils I own, I think this is my second most worn, and for good reason, too. Now, the colors are actually much darker in-person than in the pictures online. In fact, when it arrived, I thought I was sent the wrong one. The band is a very dark brown, and the face is blacker with gold accents. The skeleton center is also gold tone. The skeleton face really is beautiful. I think this is actually my most-complimented timepiece, which is funny considering it's on the "cheaper" end of my collection. The watch is very comfortable, in reality. If you have a small wrist, this watch will a) make your wrist look tiny and b) most likely catch when your hand bends upward. Hence, I tend to wear it a little farther up on my wrist than my other watches. Due to its width, it isn't thick, so it keeps a slimmer appearance while having automatic movement. It also isn't heavy at all and feels great on the wrist. Now for those who don't know, automatic watches are different than battery-powered ones. There are two ways to "charge" an automatic. Either by manually winding the crown, or by simply wearing it and moving around. The power reserve isn't listed for this Townsman, but I believe it has about a 24-36 hour reserve, which is great considering its price. My only complaint is that the second hand doesn't always stop when trying to set the time, no matter which direction I move the hands when setting. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it just doesn't. It didn't some with a manual of any sort, either. As for actually keeping the time, the Townsman does a great job. Funny enough, the Townsman keeps time better than my TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5, though the latter has a longer power reserve (I also probably need to get the TAG serviced, it's been a while). Overall, the Townsman delivers looks and time comparable to that of (sort-of) luxury brands for a fraction of the price. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • A new favorite timepiece
Color: Brown Leather/Black/Brown Size: 44MM
Skeptical at first because I've owned at least 2 Fossil watches before this one until they tragically died when the stems pulled out. I had to deal with the Fossil repair department several times which is a hassle in itself. After sending one particular watch for repair something like three separate times they just gave me a store credit for a new one. No loss on my part other than the time and postage paid. Fossil service aside this timepiece is actually quite a nice recreational watch. Several reviews I read has me doubting the quality and they brought up good points which I will try to address for hesitant buyers. The watch case itself is very appealing to the eye and the skeleton/automatic nature and a great bargain for the price. I can't find a watch to my liking with the same features for a similar price. I very much like the roman numerals with the clear see through crystal and the movement/spring action is visible and cool to see on the inside. However this aesthetic makes it impossible to read the face at night so bear that in mind. I can hear the ticking of the mechanism in a quiet room (loud watches are a pet peeve of mine) but this noise is otherwise unnoticeable and not distracting. Some reviews were upset by the slight tint to the front crystal but I find it adds to the watch. The band is a nice quality leather and wears nicely; I would not replace it with an aftermarket metal band because it would greatly change the character of the watch. The only downside aside from no nighttime visibility is the reliability. It is an automatic watch and it does have a quick winding feature, but the spring charge at best will last 48 hours maximum. A plus is that I can see the spring through the face and quickly can determine the tension level. When fully winded the watch in my opinion runs a little fast as to be expected. This piece will not keep atomically accurate time. Always +/- 2 minutes off after any given day of use. I always pull the stem out cautiously due to previous experience with Fossil watches and this particular watch doesn't instill much confidence of durability in that regard. All this said it is a beautiful timepiece perfect for light use as a classy fashion accessory. This watch is my wife's favorite of my collection and she wishes I would wear it more often. I am very fond of it as well but I cannot fully endorse it as a 24/7 daily driver. I don't mind adjusting it every few days when I do put it on for a nice dinner out. For the price, the quality is about par the what I expect and the style exceeds expectations. Just try not to yank the stem out. ... show more

  • Fossil Townsman Steel and Leather
Color: Brown Leather/Silver/Blue Dial Size: 44MM
I love this watch, it's the perfect size so it doesn't look enormous on my wrist or overly flashy. I think it looks really nice and I get compliments on how good it looks it all the time. Not to mention that the automatic winder makes it really easy to use. I only have two issues. One is that the watch seems to move a little fast, I find that I have to adjust the time every two days or so since it seems like it gains a minute a day. The second is that the band seems to deteriorate very quickly. I have only had the watch for a couple weeks before I noticed the band peeling and cracking which now has this very obvious discoloration on parts of the band near the buckle that frankly is quite annoying. ... show more

  • Stunning Style Meets Mechanical Artistry!
I purchased the Fossil Men's Townsman Automatic Skeleton Watch (Model: ME3170) in Rose Gold and Black as a gift for myself, and it’s an absolute showstopper! From the moment I opened the box, I couldn’t stop admiring it—the sleek rose gold stainless steel case paired with the rich black leather strap oozes sophistication. It’s effortlessly stylish, striking the perfect balance between modern elegance and vintage charm. But the real magic is in the skeleton dial! Watching the intricate inner mechanisms at work is downright mesmerizing. The exposed gears and automatic movement turn this timepiece into a conversation piece—I've enjoyed explaining how the self-winding mechanics function (no battery needed!). It’s like wearing a tiny, functional work of art on your wrist. Comfort-wise, the leather strap feels buttery soft and molds perfectly to the wrist, while the rose gold finish adds a luxe touch without being flashy. It’s versatile enough to dress up a suit or elevate a casual weekend look. If you’re looking for a watch that combines head-turning style with mechanical fascination, this Fossil Townsman is it. Five stars for its flawless design, five stars for the engineering marvel inside, and five stars for making me feel like I'm wearing a piece of horological history. A total winner! ... show more

  • Both unique and classic at the same time.
Color: Brown Leather/Black/Brown Size: 44MM
I never knew about skeleton watches until I decided to look for a new watch. This is the best example of one I could possibly find, which makes sense because Fossil has been around and I've owned two other amazing watches from them. The shade of metal on this one is a warm shiny copper color rather than silver, which seems less common. Although i must note that the main picture used for this product is taken from a video of the watch rotating, and is way darker and less reflective looking, although the view of the back is very accurate. Having it on your own wrist is really what sells it. You can excuse the lack of a date feature, because several different, albeit less practical, things just draw your eye almost distracting you from the time itself. There are even things that take a while to notice, like just how different the tension coil is when you get the watch off your nightstand after 8 hours, and by the end of a busy shift at work the coil pretty much looks like a solid disk from being wound up (i move around a lot at work). This is just such a fascinating, detailed watch! I randomly decided to record this close up in slow motion with my phone's camera because why not. There's a tiny notch on the pendulum that serves as a weight that is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. I'm very new to watch anatomy, so this just forces me to stare at it and be continuously fascinated. I can overlook the flaws in shipping, the cover was detached from the box, but the watch was covered in plastic so I wasn't too worried and it was unscathed out of the box. There is truly no other watch like this, even in the skeleton category of watches, its hard to find one transparent on both sides for this price point and with this shade of metal, silver felt too typical for me, and I've always loved Fossil's leather straps. I've owned two of their watches in the past. From what i gather, this is a very heavily discounted price compared to fossil's official website, which is actually where i originally found this watch. So glad i checked here. GET. THIS. WATCH! ... show more

  • Arrived damaged, not as expected.
Color: Brown Leather/Silver/Green Size: 44MM
Ordered new and possibly was sent a used watch. The front glass is cracked in the corner between the 12-1 hand. The glass and movement on the back had no plastic lining to peel off, which is typical of a new out of box fossil. There was residue around the strap and back movement. The watch was shipped in a loose bag, no seal inside the fossil box. No indication it was brand new and sealed. Color of the watches metal is more polished stainless than matte looking, and the green is much darker than shown in the photos and on the model. ... show more
