  • Excellent camera bag for travelling by plane or car
Finally found a camera/computer bag that will allow me to travel (comfortably) with most of my camera equipment as a carry-on. I have purchased (and returned) so many bags over the past few months that I had almost given up trying to find a bag that will let me carry my large DSLR (Nikon D-810), two very large lenses (24-70 and 70-200 Nikon lenses) and two smaller lenses (50 mm prime and 105 mm macro prime), my small JVC video camera and other peripherals (batteries, chargers, flash, memory cards, cables, etc.), including my small laptop (Dell XT3). Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I took a chance and ordered this bag.... and boy, am I glad I did. First off, I had to remove quite a few of the dividers to make room for everything but everything fits well and snug, won't move around, and no obvious bulges (unlike me :() It is nice to see that the manufacturer over-thought the dividers; I used the extra ones as some extra padding for the camera. The inside flap (above the main compartment) has three large attached zippered bags where cables, memory cards, filters, etc. can be easily stored. They also include a TSA approved combination lock cable which can secure the camera compartment, in case you have to check the bag (although I don't ever foresee that happening as this bag should fit in most overhead compartments or, if you remove the tablet, maybe even under the seat). This is a perfect bag for what I intend to do with it, and that is travel by plane or car or use it at work to have all of my equipment easily available if I need it. It is a backpack and so far, quite comfortable to wear and wearable on short bike rides. That said, it is not useful for any long treks or excursions (long hikes or long bike rides). At that point, you'd be better off using a bag specifically designed for that, which unfortunately as I found out, are simply not well-suited for airplane travel (e.g. Lowepro pro trekker, which is a great bag that I use for those sorts of camping type trips). ... show more

  • Oustanding Backpack with great customer service
I purchased this backback for a trip to Minnesota to photograph black bears. I had a ton of gear to carry so my camera roller just wouldn't hold it all so I started shopping for a second bag to use a carry on for the plane. The Think Tank Airport Accelerator fit the bill perfectly. The bag is roomy with lots of dividers to customize it anyway you might need. It could hold my Nikon 600mm VR lens but I decided to put that lens in my roller (since it has wheels) and pack my camera bodies, extra lenses and other items in the Think Tank. It held my 15.6" laptop and 8" tablet easily. I weighed it on a very accurate scale and I was hauling 29 lbs. of gear in it. The shoulder straps are comfortable and well padded. After hauling it around 2 airports for my connections it wasn't too bad. I noticed that the tripod straps weren't included when the bag was delivered so I contacted Think Tank Customer service in they were in my mail box 4 days later.....that's what I call customer service. It fits in the over head bins of larger planes without any issues. On the smaller commuter planes like a CRJ-200 I just took out my laptop and tablet and it fit into the overhead with a little wiggling. I've taken it on 2 different week long trips backed to the max and getting ready for a 3rd trip with it and so far I'm impressed with the bag in every way. If I had to find any cons with it, the cable lock that comes attached with the bag can only lock one compartment, either the main camera area or the laptop section, not both. Since I don't plan to check it, I don't have a problem with that. I did pick up a decent TSA lock and put it inside the bag just in case. Again, just thought I'd let others know about this one small thing. ... show more

  • Great bag for 2 pro DSLR bodies with lens attached with caveats
I have a Think Tank Streetwalker hard drive bag - which worked great as far as carrying 2 cameras with 3 pro zooms. However when I got a 300mm f/2.8 VR II it could not fit that lens (D800 attached) along with 16-35 f/4 and another D800 with 70-200 f/2.8 VR II attached. This one fits well - however the 2 bodies Thinktank has shown in the photo ([...]) fit a little too tight and hard to easily insert/remove. It would have been better if the long rigid central divider would have been half an inch or an inch shorter, while the short non-rigid central divider half an inch to an inch longer to make it easy to insert/remove the camera bodies. As it is I am not sure how the bodies will fit if I add an MB-D12 grip. Have not yet figured out how the RRS versa 24 tripod will fit into the tripod socket. Enough of nit picks - the bag is great otherwise to carry. There are lots of dividers supplied - I believe even more than the Streetwalker Hard Drive - that you can use to create any configuration you like (most bags are not great at different configurations as they do not supply you with enough dividers and its not easy to create your own dividers - example my Lowepro Flipside 300 is a fantastic bag and theoretically should be able to carry 2 D800 bodies one with 16-35 f/4 and other with 70-200 f/4 but cannot due to the lack of dividers to create different configurations). I will still keep my Streetwalker harddrive bag which looks easier to carry around the town - but I believe the occasions will be far lesser. ... show more

  • Good bag but the demo pictures are deceiving
I purchased this bag to carry two DLSRs. In the picture they show a two Canon cameras. Awesome, I think. This will do the job. Well I am using a 5d mkiii and a 6D both with grip. It shows cameras in the picture sitting side by side. Well good luck with that. Apparently it is one with a grip and the other without. I also have a hand strap on mine. it is a small Canon OEM strap so it isn't that thick but putting two cameras together in this as it appears to be designed doesn't work with 2 grips. Luckily the dividers are mostly all configurable except the center one so I rearranged things and made my own camera holder. I can fit both bodies in there with a grip and lens on them but not like in the pictures. It is a little weird but fits it and will work for me. Overall construction is good. it is a solid bag with tons of room. ... show more
