I would have given 5 stars but after the third time wearing it the elastic on one wrist no longer keeps the sleeve tight so now I have to take it to a local seamstress and have it repaired (thankfully here in South America the cost won't be prohibitive). The other option is to put tape around my wrist each time I wear it and that's not going to cut it. As far as providing protection from bee stings, I can enthusiastically say it scores 5 stars in that regard. Here, in South America, we have the Africanized bees and when they get agitated they can be relentless in their pursuit to sting you. Size wise it was true to size (I ordered an XXL). I live in Florida and it gets hot. This jacket is lighter weight than my current bee suit and allows me to be able to work through a couple hives at a time. I do like this jacket and think it is made really well. Where the zippers meet they form a tight joint and the Velcro flaps do an excellent job on providing additional protection from bees entering the jacket. This jacket is easier to put on and easy to remove. I typically wear an XL shirt and use 2XL jackets to provide extra room between my skin and the bee jacket. This jacket is perfect for me. I received my jacket on Jun 29th and inspected my hive. I had a problem with the left wrist cuff elastic coming detached on the first day and contacted FBSupply the following day through Amazon FBSupply quickly responded to my email that night and within a week I received a replacement jacket. The sleeve / thumb ties are weaker than they should be. They are of elastic and tend to wear very fast when pulled tight. Better if they were canvas and riveted onto the sleeve rather than sewn. Make them too long and add Velcro to adjust length.

I have been keeping bees for over ten years and this is a replacement for my first coat. The quality exceeds my original and may be a little lighter than my full suit from major catalogue bee supply house but equal on build quality. I am a 2XL shirt and this 2XL coat gave me plenty of room.
