They never even wanted to be stepbrothers—but now, in front of the camera, they're getting much closer—in this edgy, emotional story of forbidden passion that's perfect for fans of Heated Rivalry.Avi's into old-school emo bands, true crime, and cryptids. And if not many others share his interests, he's cool with that, as long as he doesn't run out of weed. But then he moves from Brooklyn to Boston with his mom, which isn't a big deal . . . until she announces she's seeing someone and he happens to have a son Avi's age.As his mom's relationship gets more serious, they all move in together, and under the same roof as his future stepbrother, Avi's never felt more out of place. Kyran's everything Avi isn't: athletic, popular, supremely confident—and undeniably hot. The only thing the two have in common is their opposition to officially becoming related. Oh, and they're both entering their freshman year at the same college. At first, they're hopeful their very different social circles will minimize any on-campus encounters. But the more they try to avoid each other, the more a sizzling tension blazes up between the quirky artist and the control-freak quarterback with a traumatic past. Then, just when they think things can't get any worse, a family financial collapse leads the desperate pair to collab on a little content creation.Behind closed doors, Avi and Kyran start making illicit videos that quickly bring in a steady stream of money—and wildly thirsty comments. But it's strictly a business partnership to pay for school . . . Isn't it? With their deepest secrets and desires stirring as they begin to rely on each other both on and off camera, they'll be forced to ask themselves: Are they really only doing it for the fans? For the Fans is a full-length, standalone MM forbidden romance with an HEA. It contains sensitive subject matter that could make some listeners uncomfortable and is intended for adults. Read more

  • This book is so much more than you’re expecting. This book is so much more than you’re expecting.
Format: Paperback
For the Fans is a poignant, harrowing and deeply felt story about identity and overcoming trauma, also a swoon-worthy love story that’s deeply romantic and emotional, but also hotter than hell. I had never heard of Nyla K before, and to be honest, an author without a last name is a red flag, but suffice it to say, girl knows what she’s doing. She achieves something kind of remarkable in this. It’s extremely addictive, and over the week and a half or so that it took me to read this, i found the part of my day that I most looked forward to was going home and spending more time with Kyran and Avi. Nyla’s attention to character detail is consistently fascinating and gradually pulls you in more as the book goes on, and the story is remarkably well paced, which is surprising for a book this long. I got sad when I started to near the end of this book just because I didn’t want my time with these characters to end. I’m very new to this genre, so I’m still kind of shocked when I read certain things. When I started this book and familiarized myself with the taboo, lurid premise, I thought, should I even be reading this? Or what if I end up loving this book, how am I going to recommend it to anyone? I’d surely sound like a lunatic. Anyway, now I don’t care if I do. I’d protect Kyran and Avi with my life. I absolutely fell in love with these two, and I think I’ll definitely be rereading this. I hear I really need to get the audiobook as well. I’ll definitely revive my Audible subscription for that. And of course, I’ll check out more Nyla K, probably sooner than later. I absolutely adored this book. It’s incredibly moving and emotionally cathartic, but also doubles down on the spice you’re here for. If there are any problems here, it would be that the ending may be a bit too much like idealized wish fulfillment. But considering how a lot of queer stories are so focused on sadness or illness or death, it feels cathartic and meaningful in its own way to leave Kyran and Avi where we leave them. Although I hope readers will see more of them one day, I’d also be totally satisfied if this is the end of their story. For the Fans made me all flustered and then it broke my heart. I originally just read it on KU but I loved it so much I had to get the fancy deluxe edition. And that alone should be enough to sell you on this. ... show more

  • As tame as a taboo romance with its premise could get As tame as a taboo romance with its premise could get
Format: Paperback
For the Fans is a spicy MM erotic romance. Kyran and Avi have hated each other since their parents married each other while they were in high school. Stepbrothers forced to live together and go to the same school, their personalities continuously clash with the artistic stoner Avi and the popular regimented jock Kyran. Now going to the same university, a family financial disaster means they can no longer afford to stay unless they find the funds fast. Their solution? OnlyFans because their real life tension turns to magic online. But when it starts turning into more, they must confront their own issues if they want it to be real. This book has gotten a lot of praise online (on BookTok specifically) and is constantly being recommended, but it was just alright for me. It’s certainly way too long for what it is, and the spice felt pretty tame to me outside of the taboo nature of it. I also thought that people were way too chill with finding out stepbrothers were not only hooking up but also doing OnlyFans and being in love in real life. I expect way more push back than that. I gravitated towards Kyran more despite him being the aggressor in most of the conflicts between them, and I did appreciate the attempt to make him a lot more faceted and deep with his traumatic history. However, I just did not like what he did towards the end where he just disappears with no contact at all (this never makes sense to me and always just comes across kind of irresponsible and intentionally harmful). Avi, meanwhile, is the instigator for the main plot, and I do think it was fun but honestly could have been wilder and gone further. I found For the Fans to be as tame as a taboo romance with its premise could get. ... show more

  • Raw. Intense. Emotional. SPICY!!!
Format: Kindle
18+ MM Romance ⚠️read the trigger warnings!!⚠️ I have no words. I cannot express what this book did to me, but I will try my best. I haven’t had a 5 star read in a while and this one knocked it out of the park. I have not felt this many emotions erupt from me all at once in a long time. This book was so incredibly beautiful. I went into it looking for some spicy time, but I came out (no pun intended) with a whole heart, bleeding incredible amounts of love, heartbreak, and joy. Avi is the artsy, stoner kid, and Kyran is your stereotypical, preppy quarterback who is just a straight-up a-hole who absolutely despises Avi. Avi's mom gets with Kyran's dad, making them step-brothers who couldn't hate each other more. They end up going to the same college, and Kyran is absolutely livid about it. When their parent's financial security goes down the drain, they both have to find a way to make money to stay in college. Avi's friend convinces him to start an OF (something she has also been doing to make ends meet). It begins as a solo account until Kyran, supposedly the straightest man on campus, desperately needs money to stay at school and pursue his goal of making the NFL, gets involved. But remember, it's for the fans, right? Kyran is a pretty stubborn guy, so he’s ignoring the undeniable chemistry between him and Avi for a good portion of the book. But even the fans can see it's more than just “videos.” It's raw, intense, emotional, and just downright steamy. I'd subscribe in a heartbeat. "Each time we're together, it gets deeper. More intense, more staggering, more... beautiful. More terrifying." Like I said before, the chemistry is absolutely magical, and the banter is delicious. I don't think I have ever read a book with chemistry like theirs. It's a slow-burning candle, realistic and scorching HOT. They couldn't be more opposite, but they fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. Both of their inner monologues are absolutely hilarious, and each chapter starts off with a username and comment that went under their OF account which are also absolutely HILARIOUS 😂 "Baby, you're ruining me...""Now you know how I feel." I understand how the length of this book might seem intimidating, but each page was necessary. The amount of background, spice, character development, and healing is beautifully written, and it wouldn't have been as incredible if it was any shorter. I actually wish it was longer. I don't want to let these characters go. Going from being at each other's throats 24/7 to being so incredibly inseparable is fantastic. "I'm like... stupidly in love with you." "Baby... I'm f—-ing moronically in love with you." I fell in love with both of them and am absolutely obsessed with their love story. I cannot recommend this book enough. It was such an intense emotional rollercoaster, full of banter, lots of laughs, and I loved every heckin second of it. I want to read it all over again. Like I said, there aren't words to describe what this book did to me. Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ... show more

  • This book was EVERYTHING
Format: Kindle
I would first like to start out by saying that this book came highly recommended to me by MULTIPLE people. Seriously, even on Bookstagram, people were telling me it was a “must read”. Everyone talked about how much they loved Avi and Kyran’s story and how HOT this book was. I wholeheartedly agree with those statements…HOWEVER, one thing I am so disappointed in, is how NO ONE mentions how deep and emotional this story is. Here are my thoughts: Kyran is our HGB (iykyk 😉), who off the bat hates Avi upon meeting him and harbors (pun intended) some strong hatred and feelings for Avi. You see right off the bat, that he has a strained relationship with his dad. To those who have never experienced trauma or don’t have any sort of experience with it personally or with a family, friend/loved one, it’s easy to miss the signs. What baffles me is how LOUD these signs were but most people kept skipping over it to get to the hate/sexual tension/hot s*x that these men had. There are legit very prominent clues as to the status of Kyran’s mental health and the fact that he endured such horrible trauma. I legit highlighted almost every single clue Nyla left in the book. So to hear “how hot this book was” and that’s all people have to say, really makes me mad, because this book was so much more than that. Kyran’s personal growth, acceptance, and even his struggle was beautiful. It was raw, it was real. It was pretty much what I look for when you have a very heavy mental health Rep in a book. My favorite part? No, it wasn’t the spice (shocker- though it was delicious). It’s the fact that Nyla showed you LOVE DOES NOT CURE ALL. Kyran did what was necessary to get the help he needed and even then, Avi accepted and KNEW that Kyran wasn’t “fixed”, that he would still struggle and you know what this man decided? THAT HE WOULD LOVE HIM THROUGH IT ALL. That’s what makes an epic love story. That’s what makes me want to scream with happiness. They got their HEA but it was REALISTIC and I am HERE FOR IT. Avi is our nerdy, artistic emo who feels lost in life. He has no direction. Instead of getting serious about it, he hid behind the facade of jokes and humor. He was truly so insecure that it broke my heart for him. His love with Kyran shaped who he was and in turn, he found himself. He stood true to himself in all ways, and also helped to tear down that brick wall that Ky built so high. While tearing down his walls, he slowly realized that he was also tearing down his own, allowing Ky to see a rare vulnerability in him as well. Their story was EVERYTHING to me. My heart broke for both of these broken boys. I cried, laughed, and became one of their fans. The spice was delicious but the emotional impact is really what sold this to me. The fact that it’s glossed over by so many readers makes me so sad. Thank you Nyla for an amazing story. This has been promoted to a comfort read and one of my fav reads this year (so far). Aviel and Kyran have a permanent spot in my heart and will live rent free in my head. ... show more

  • Panting. Salivating. Swooning. Laughing... I'm about to go read it AGAIN!
Format: Kindle
1st person/dual pov Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 - undergarments melted…😳 It’s been like 4 or 5 days and I still can’t get my words right for this review. So if this turns into rambling just know it’s for a good reason. First things first - I’ll admit I haven’t found a book by Nyla that I don’t love. That’s because each one is so different from the rest of her work yet you still get the same level of experience from them all. Nyla lets these characters run wild in her head and then hands her readers their story in its most authentic form. You never have to worry about one of her books being watered down so it’s easier to consume. And thank god for that because this story here wouldn’t have been the same if it was. She gave us two guys who are complete opposites in every possible way yet fit together so perfectly and no other person on the planet could complete them. The farther you get into the book the more you’ll see why. They are the poster boys for that fine line between love and hate. And. It. Is. Delicious. The way they interact with each other, even later on in the story, is always charged with sexual tension. So between the constant picking on each other and the intense attraction, they are feeling you get this interesting mix of slow and fast burn that is overflowing with some of the best banter I’ve ever read. Take the whole plot and throw it away and I could literally just sit and read a book of nothing but them bickering back and forth and be happy. 🤣 Thankfully we don’t have to throw the whole plot out though because it’s a really good plot. OnlyFans is still constantly growing in popularity and this was one of the first books that I personally saw centering the plot around it. But it’s not just a book about two guys doing OF to make money. It’s about so much more than that. It’s about two people finding themselves because of choices they made due to the circumstances they were put in. And then in finding themselves… they found each other. 🥰 They were exactly what the other needed at a time when they didn’t even know they needed it. A push to accept and love yourself for who you are and to stop feeling unworthy. The strength to face your demons and finally heal a piece of your soul that’s been slowly eating away at you for so long. Whether it’s being there to open the door and let the other in or trusting the other enough to let go of control and allow the walls to come down these boys have found a safe space within their love. It is so touching and full of emotions that I was legit sobbing (both sad and happy tears for the record) the entire last 20-30% of the book. Sometimes that meant switching from sad to laughing in less than a paragraph lol. But would it really be a Nyla K book if that wasn’t the case? Speaking of things you’d expect from a Nyla book - you already know she is not going to let you down when it comes to the spice! WHEW! I don’t know what she puts in her cup each day while writing but it has to be infused with something hotter than lava because that’s the only kind of spicy scene in this book! Doesn’t matter where they are or who’s around none of it is off-limits. Showers, cars, locker rooms, MF FaceTime… these guys take full advantage!! I can without a doubt give three at minimum that will forever live rent-free in my head from this day forward. She said it was hotter than Push - I didn’t believe her - I was wrong. 😳 Sorry, Ben & Ryan. 😬 (Don’t worry they still hold the crown for the top “scene” ever overall! 😉) Well ok… that all came out better than I expected it to I think. So, I’m going to leave you with this, read the TWs if you’re someone who generally needs them but if not then skip it and dive right in. While there is sensitive content within the story the worst of it 𝙄𝙣 𝙈𝙮 𝙊𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣 is not described in detail/happens off-page. But it absolutely is a must-read. Avi and Kyran will own a piece of your heart after you finish it and it’s so worth it! 𝘈𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥! • Enemies to lovers, forced together by OnlyFans!
Format: Audiobook
📖 For the Fans by Nyla K Rating: ★★★☆☆ An innovative premise doesn't always guarantee a convincing romance, and that's where "For the Fans" left me wanting more. The OnlyFans plot device was certainly a fresh take on the forced proximity trope, but I couldn't fully buy into Kyran and Avi's transformation from enemies to lovers. Kyran's journey from rigid football star to someone capable of vulnerability really resonated with me. I loved watching him break down his walls and confront his biases when his carefully structured world collapsed. His character development from uptight control-freak to someone who could admit "I just want him, broken or not. I want all his uneven pieces" showed genuine growth. The stepbrother dynamic created natural tension, but their relationship evolution felt rushed in places. While I appreciated the contrast between Kyran's disciplined nature and Avi's free-spirited approach to life, some aspects of their connection seemed stretched or hard to relate to. The financial crisis forcing these polar opposites to collaborate had potential, but the execution didn't always convince me. That said, the book maintains a light, playful tone throughout that makes it an entertaining read. The humor sprinkled between moments of personal transformation kept me turning pages, even when I wasn't fully invested in their romance. It's the kind of book that doesn't take itself too seriously while still exploring how unexpected connections can change us. 📦 What to Expect 💰 Financial Crisis Plot Device 👨👨👦 Complicated Family Dynamics 🏈 Sports vs. Arts Personalities 🌿 Character Growth & Self-Discovery 💻 Social Media/OnlyFans Element 🔥 Enemies-to-Lovers Romance ❤️ Forbidden Love Elements 📚 Book Tags Keywords: Stepbrother Romance, OnlyFans, Contemporary Romance, Financial Struggles, Personal Transformation, College Setting Tropes: Enemies-to-Lovers, Forced Proximity, Opposites Attract, Found Love, Forbidden Romance Triggers: Financial Stress, Family Conflict 🎯 Final Thoughts If you're in the mood for a contemporary romance with an unconventional premise and don't mind some believability stretches, this light-hearted stepbrother romance might be your next weekend read. • For the Fans
Format: Kindle
For the Fans is an amazing MM romance that completely pulls you into the characters’ lives. From the beginning, the story builds tension between the two leads in a way that feels natural and intense. That slow build makes the enemies-to-lovers dynamic incredibly satisfying as their relationship unfolds. What really stands out is how well the emotional tension develops. You feel every moment of frustration, attraction, and vulnerability between them, which makes their eventual connection hit even harder. The chemistry is strong, and the way the story gradually unfolds keeps you invested the whole time. The audiobook takes this story to another level. The narration adds depth to both the emotional moments and the spicy scenes, making the experience even more immersive. It’s one of those audiobooks that really elevates the story. This has become a go-to read (and listen) for me when I want a story full of tension, emotion, and great chemistry. ⭐ 5/5 stars.
