It really is a nice looking lamp for the money. I did not need a remote control for a lamp. I love that it’s has a pull down chain to turn the lamp on. Its base is very sturdy. It does not adjust for brightness. I used a warm light 60 watt bulb. It looks very nice. However, it’s much smaller than what I was expecting. I guess I have to read the dimensions before I buy from now on. The light is not as tall as I would expect. The shade, although nice, is very small. I wanted a standard size lampshade. Oh well it works in the corner by the loveseat so I can have light at night to read. ... show more

Pros: Cost - With the promotional discount and getting one used on Amazon as well, I got two of these for a total of 40 bucks. There's nothing fancy about them, but they will work fine, and that's a really decent price. Pull Chain - I hate the foot switch and or remote control that come with floor lamps in this price point, so I was really glad to find these that had a pull chain to it. Cons: Shade size - The 10" shade that comes with this is really too small for my taste, and it looks smaller in real life than what the pictures suggest. But again, they were so cheap I didn't mind buying a replacement shade. The 2nd picture shows the look I was going for, the top is 13" diameter and it tapers to a 15" diameter on the bottom. But the issue I ran into is my biggest con... Socket to big for replacement shade - the lamp socket is larger than what a standard shade will fit. Replacement shades you can find in the store have an uno ring with an inner diameter of 32mm, which is too small to fit over the threads of this lamp socket. You can see in the 3rd pic how much bigger the white ring of the smaller lampshade is compared to the shade I'm trying to replace it with. I'll keep looking, but I have to return these if I can't figure out how to change the shade. ... show more
