Lightweight but sturdy enough to be good for someone packing solo but could easily support weight of a pot that could feed many more campers. Folds up and packs really nicely. A true lightweight camper person with a drill, grinder, and a little time could probably modify and cut the weight in half. Grate is a cool feature that you can use as you see fit. The metal is very thick, and I feel very confident in a heavy-duty environment. It can be folded into a flat box and is easy to put into any kind of box.

The paint does burn off with first use even though it was above the top rim of the solo stove. The hinges were so flaky with crusty paint that we could not fold the legs back in. I scrubbed the paint off. You should burn off the paint before cooking on it so you don’t get paint flecks in your food. You could probably use it to hold up the stove’s lid to use as heat deflector. I hope it holds up and doesn’t rust where the paint is gone ( it’s red and steel colored underneath ). We’ll try using it a couple more times before return time is up to make sure it’s ok without paint. ... show more
