The media could not be loaded. Metal detector received today, 9/13/23. Looks used due to broken glass compass (see video) and no instructions or pamphlets. The two batteries it came with were not fully charged. The weight of it is easy and light.

The media could not be loaded. Does it work? Yes it does! Is it easy to use? Yes it is overall! Do I like the metal detector? Yes I do! However, it did not come with a strap to secure it when you fold it up to put it away and the plastic bolt that holds the coil on, well it broke the first day that I had it!! I went to Lowe’s home improvement and bought a nylon bolt and wingnuts and it works great, it is super sensitive and it will detect stuff that you never thought it would, but that will also drive you freaking crazy. You need to play with the sensitivity and determine whether you want to notch or disc or use all metal….. Honestly it’s not bad for the value but if I had $400 I would definitely buy a better version of this and one that was American made , I hate owning things that I cannot pronounce the name!!!! All in all I give this a four-star. Just so you know it does multi scan simultaneously. That means it competes with the expensive MD. The depth isn’t as far as I’d like to have. But it is fun and if you buy a good shovel and pin pointer along with a bag and spray bottle/ toothbrush you won’t ever need anything else that I can think of. It just arrived. Neat little design! I have given it a provisional 5 stars, pending some time of actual use. One question: it comes with a nice little carrying bag (shaped like a back pack). I am curious as to the genius who labeled it, in large, ORANGE letters, "METAL DETECTOR" ? Might as well say "STEAL ME!" I mean, really? I will update if and when needed. ... show more

    • Never used a detector before? This may be the one for you!
This metal detector helped save me hundreds, or even thousands of dollars! I had to locate my septic tank but could not find the lid with the septic technicians. Instead of calling in the town engineers to perform a $500+ survey, I decided to purchase this little gadget, with the hopes that my septic tank lid was very similar to a large iron sewer cap. Success! And I have NEVER used a detector before! This device works like a charm! It was picking up my underground copper lines with no problem. I could literally trace the line all the way across the yard. I ended up finding my septic tank lid within an hour...AND ONLY THE HANDLE OF THE LID WAS METALLIC. A small piece of bent rebar, sticking out of a concrete lid, and the detector found it with ease. (about 6 inches down) It has a few different, very useful modes, and the sensitivity adjustment is a good feature. The foldable stock is also helpful for storage/transporting. Super Fun for the whole family!!! I'm so pleased this came in before our annual family beach gathering. It worked great, my grandchildren had a blast with it, they loved the fact that it came with headphones, shovel and digger. Although they didn't strike gold, it was so much FUN watching them. I carried it around with us. You can hardly tell it's there, doesn't weigh much at all. We're going to take it with us on our next camping trip. We're already talking of getting a pin pointer wand to use with it. It does require a little patience with adjusting the settings, but it's well worth it. I/We loved this detector, we'd recommend to all beginners. We're having so much fun with it. Very Happy VA Granny and Family!!! ... show more
