  • Great Value
This was my first experience with the tankless water system. I had been looking into them for about two years and loved the idea of using them but couldn't figure out what application would work best for my house. I finally decided that this unit would work best installed in the guest bathroom because it is not used very often and my guests aren't using or needing tons of hot water all at once. Although the installation of this seemed straight forward, I opted to have professionals (some professional friends) do the work. I must admit that the job was rather simple and the whole process was done in under 2 hours. It is installed in the cabinet under the sink and the hot water is set at a comfortable hot temperature and sure enough I was able to turn the hot water and get it flowing very quickly (seconds). The unit is rather quiet and doesn't have that "whooshing" sound I get when the gas water heater starts up for the rest of my house. So far, the unit works and functions exactly as described and I haven't noticed any leaks or problems (knock on wood). ... show more

  • Works as Intended!
we have this installed in our pool shed so we could add an outdoor shower -- it does a great job since it's far away from the house - we only have to heat the water as it's being used. It is hard wired - and you need to understand that it will heat the water according to the water INPUT temperature, as well - so if the water is colder coming in (ie: winter) it will take longer to heat the water to the desired temp or you will get a slower flow of water at the temperature you want. For our summertime use, and only one shower/sink - this is perfect. ... show more

  • Have a good plan for this including power lines
This water heater is quite compact. Comes with 1/2 pipe fittings for connecting to your house and a couple direction sheets (with the wall mount pattern for screws). When installing, they warn to be sure to fill the water passages BEFORE power is turned on (as the biggest problems with all water heaters is what they call "dry firing" from power put to it without water). Many may look at tankless water heaters like this and quickly say "why not?" It doesn't take up the space of a huge tank, it costs less than tanks, and you never "run out" of hot water as major advantages. However, you need a much bigger power circuit for this (like 60 amp circuit for the 14K unit) rather than 30 amp for tank units, so you can't just put this in place of a tank unit you may have. Also this can only heat about 2 GPM water from ~50 to 100 degrees from the 14K power (so if running a bath needing 40 gallons, it'll take 20 minutes to fill versus 8 minutes with a tanks preheated water). Some may say "it heats the water, but not enough" where if the winter water is 40 coming in, this may only heat it to 90 from the same power. So beware that it can seem to "change" depending on seasons like that as it gives you the same set rise in temp regardless of 60-110 or 40-90. You can slow the flow down a bit to let it heat more, but not sure if that is what you want. If you would want something you can run off a backup generator or inverter, a 7000 watt can do the 30A, but you'd need 15,000 watt for this. That power demand also shows what the power companies are needing to supply for you when it goes (which many give no thought to, but if everyone turned on the same things all at once in a city of 50,000 homes, that can be enough to need another Hoover dams full power). Some may also assume they always have plenty of power available from the grid, yet a 100 amp box can end up with 60 going to this, ~30 for a house heat-pump and leave near nothing for the rest of the house items without overloading the 100A main, so check on that as well. If you have a 200A main, you're much less likely to have an issue. So as the old saying goes "fail to plan and you plan to fail" which I hope you don't have happen. ... show more

  • Perfect solution for RV or Mobile homes
Campers come with really really small water heaters and use up propane to heat them. The spot we can at the coast has a 240V plug at the site that we can now plug our camper water heater into and we can all take showers without having to wait a half an hour in between. This electric water heater is well built and simple to use. It's so convenient! ... show more

  • FOGATTI Electric Tankless Water Heater 4kW Instant Hot Water Heater on Demand review
This on-demand water heater arrived as advertised. It is a heavy, solidly built unit. After reading the instructions for installation, I know it will require me to hire an electrician. My plan is to install it for use in my pool house, for our shower there. Our old very small water tank rusted out, and we haven't had warm water to shower before or after swimming. I have read many reviews, some not so good, or say it just doesn't heat up enough. I think it will work well in the pool house, since it will only be used in summer in hot weather, and the water coming into it will be warmer. Also, since the pool house isn't air conditioned, showering will be at air temperature, and most showers there are short - simply to rinse off before getting in the pool (sometimes), and rinsing off the pool water after. I think a unit like this is perfect for that use. ... show more
