I got these to give to all my rodents as some extra protein in their diets. One of my two male rats LOVES these little mealworms. One of his favorite treats. I try not to give him too many, as he's a little old man now and doesn't really need that much extra protein, but he does enjoy them. His brother is okay with them. Will eat one or two before turning down any more. I also tried to give them to my young syrian hamster, she was wholly uninterested in them unfortunately. They seem like a very good value for the number of mealworms you get, especially if you are feeding them in small quantities to rodents. One of my three cats also seemed very keen on eating them, I'm sure he'd even eat a whole bowl of them if I wanted to give him that many! ... show more

I initially purchased these as food for my carnivorous plants, but after research, I switched to feeding them to my son's bearded dragon, feeding them to my local murder of crows, or even rehydrating them and using them as bait for bluegill when I go fishing

I purchased two bottles of the Flukers freeze dried worms for my prairie dogs and sugar gliders.... I keep one near my sugar gliders for them and the other near my prairie dogs for them. All of my fur babies seem to love them and would probably eat plenty more than what they are allowed. I don't like worms at all and it took me a long time to be able to even handle these with my fingers to feed my pets but I eventually got used to it and I enjoy giving them to my babies now. The only thing I don't like about this product is that most of the worms are so small and they break apart overtime to the point that I can't give them the bottom portion of the worms because it basically turns into dust by that point so I have to order more bottles. I've never purchased any other brand nor any other kind so I don't know if that is normal or not. I like when they are freshly opened and the worms are easy to grasp. Since every one of my fur babies seem to love these specific worms, I am giving a five star review. ... show more

Good product-hamsters like them

I got these mealworms for my hamster bc of two reasons 1) price 2) convenience They give him a great protein source and I don’t have to deal with live worms which can get pretty gross and it becomes a hassle to have to run to the store all the time. My only issue with these is that they are not GMO free—so in the future I will probably switch to a brand that is bc hamsters are pretty susceptible to problems with their environment and food. But for the price these are a great steal. They are an extremely high protein level and he seems to like them and I find them half eaten in his hide all the time. He is a Syrian hamster so mealworms are either a hit or a miss with their breed. When I first introduced them to him he wanted no part of it. He ignored them for the better part of a week so I took a few mealworms and crushed them up and sprinkled it ontop of his normal seed and pellet mix. A day later I then put a few whole mealworms in his dish and he now will eat them. So there’s just a little trick for you if you can’t get your Syrian hamsters to eat them. Robo hamsters love these and they can be treated like a snack. Overall it was a good purchase for a very cheap price. I would buy again if I were in a pinch and couldn’t afford the non GMO brands. The packaging is fine-it’s the same size and shape as an average spice container so it closes up tight and easily when done with them. It’s a small (again the size of a regular spice container) so if you have reptiles or an animal that largely lives on insects you may want to get a larger container of them to be the most economical. But for someone like me who has one hamster and only uses 3-4 every other day then this was a good purchase. ... show more

I hope this review is showing five stars (the app won't let me highlight more than the last four). At any rate, these are my hedgie's favorite. All other brands are suboptimal, apparently, and so are the live ones.
