  • Here's the good and the bad.
I'm giving this purchase the benefit of an extra point for the following reasons. First let me say this bulb does not fit the Lexus HID Zenon adaptive headlight system on a 2006 Lexus Rx 400h without modification to the housing body of this bulb. It required a Dremel tool to cut a notch in the plastic base to accommodate a protruding piece of the aluminum housing designed for positioning of the headlight bulb. The bulb does not fit without this modification or relief notch. That said the light appears brighter than the remaining old bulb which I will change out when I have time. Should go faster. I already modified the body to fit. Lexus gets a poor grade in user-friendly and easily replaceable headlight bulbs. Very poorly designed. A common problem with this Lexus model- headlights fill with moisture on the inside of the plastic. This may likely cause electrical corrosion and early failure. Lexus won't replace them until they are really bad. Lexus is a little too tight when it comes to customer satisfaction for a car whos' motto is "The Pursuit of Perfection". But that's another issue. The new Osram light does not approximate 6000K at this point. I've read that it changes from a yellow light (4300K) to a Blue light (6000K after 20 hours of burn-in. This remains to be seen. I only hope this bulb provides the longevity experienced with the factory bulb. Note: Well two weeks have passed and more than 40 hours of "burn in" The light is still has a yellow hue. Not white or blue Not 6000 Kelvin. ... show more

  • Brighter than OEM, Brand New
My 2006 Mazda 6S Grand Sport came with OEM Philips D2S Xenon Fusion HID low beams. They were fairly bright when I bought the car 11 years ago, but they were looking dim compared to all the luxury cars out there. I heard HID lights fade over time, so I looked into replacing them. I picked the Osram CBI's because they come highly rated with natural, bright, white light. The seller had mostly good reviews, too. Lights arrived within 3 days, I had them shipped to work so they wouldn't walk away from my doorstep while I wasn't home. They were in brand-new condition. Osram's website confirmed they were authentic. Nice and bright! Took me 2 hours to install, but that was because I had to take off the bumper cover to access the lights. I tested them before I reinstalled the bumper cover....they started up just fine. Even in the noon sun I could tell they were brighter than stock. 2 weeks have elapsed, and they are a decent shade of white now. Very bright. They light up the edge of the road very well -- that might be the projector design on this car, but they seem a more crisp shade of white at night. They make driving easier at night. I aimed them at a wall and the beam isn't any higher than stock, so I think they should be acceptable for other drivers. Much better than paying 150 each for the Philips 4300K stock ones at the dealer, I think. Thank you. ... show more

  • Freaking Awesome!
I originally ordered the one listed "5000K" on another Amazon listing, but for whatever reason received the one labeled "6000k" *which is why this review does not say "Verified" I was originally upset due to wrong item received and was about to return it, because i wanted 5000k-5500k, but after contacting Osram, they were able to confirm that both the "Up to 5500k" and "Up to 6000k" labeled content is the exact same product (they were also able to confirm it was Genuine). They just changed the labeling, probably for marketing purposes. Plus both are the same exact item number "66240CBI" I can confirm these 66240CBI (labeled at "up to 6000k") is most definitely 5000k. I believe towards the end of its life is when it starts to hit closer to the 6000k mark. Anyway, on to the performance; It is pure diamond white. My vehicle originally had the Philips 85122+ (about 4700k) and were amazing bulbs, but i wanted something with less yellow to it. So I tried these out. My goodness what a massive difference. A very modern color output and super bright. Worth every penny! I've attached three images i took with my DSLR camera. The pictures are as accurate as i can get them in color and brightness (i suppose your monitor may say otherwise). If you have side corner lights, i found that the Sylvania (Osram) Zevo 194 LED bulbs are a perfect match in color. ... show more

  • Go with Osram CBB instead
I would say these are closer to 4500K-5000K. They are more yellow than I had hoped for. I also have over 100hrs on them. If I could do it again, I would have gone with CBBs instead. These bulbs are authentic and high quality. The light output is good and a bit better than stock. I have them in my 2007 Acura TL. In my TL I also have LED fogs and I was hoping these would match the color of the LED fogs, but they are a bit yellow in comparison to my fogs. If the TL bulbs were not such a huge pain to change out, I would switch and go with the CBBs instead. They are good and of high quality and I have had no problems with them. Bottom line, go with them if you want an OEM look, but go with the CBBs if you want to look any bluer. ... show more

  • End of life review
I bought and installed these bulbs in April 2017 and last week one of the bulbs went out. Today, the other bulb went out. I sought these particular bulbs because of the claims of quality of the OSRAM name. Part of that quality was the advertisement of having a lifespan of "2000 hours" or "6 to 10 years under average daily use." Despite lasting 4 years, these headlights were used maybe 5 hours a week, max, and with covid, were rarely used for an entire year. That's about 800 hours, or 40% of its advertised lifespan.... I'm kinda disappointed with that. However, while they worked, they were great. Nice color (I would say 5000K is accurate), good brightness, lit up the road nicely. Just wished they lasted as advertised. Oh well. ... show more

  • Hella nice
These have a really nice white hue to them and are super bright. Don't settle for cheap bulbs, osram or Philips really are the way to go.
