First, the lamp is well made, and the switch is sturdy. The lamp looks as good in person as it did in the photo. The long-term aspects of the product are worthy of praise. That said, I dinged this one star for the packaging, assembly, and cleanup. It was easy to put the lamp sections together; however, each tube was covered in a layer of plastic sleeving that needed to be removed while juggling the entire assembly, unless you just clang it off the ground as you go. This shouldn't be a big issue, but the plastic sleeve couldn't just be slid off (base and top of lamp all connected by the cord), which then made it necessary to tear it off, which also should be no big deal. Each of those little sleeves was made with a thin plastic that didn't tear very easy. It would have been better if they were wrapped in layers of cling wrap based on the tiny shreds that came off at a time when trying to peel the sleeve apart. Even just a simple perforation in the sleeve would have made the tearing away easier. I know those sleeves are necessary to keep the metal shiny during manufacturing and transit. The other issue I had with the packing was the quality of foam used to hold the lamp in place in the box. It was standard styrene material, but it chunked super easy and made a mess of beads that static cling to just about anything. This lamp looks amazing. It is simple to put together. The protective plastic sleeves on each section are easily removed with scissors. The sections simply screw together. I like that it has a strong heavy weight. The frosted glass is nice and the side lamp can move to different positions. The pole is skinnier then what I’m use to but it’s sturdy. It came with a light bulbs.

It’s a simple but attractive lamp - easy to put together (though there was a lot of white residue on part of the cord that took a big of time to remove). The color is quite nice. They gave a bulb with the lamp, but it’s a little dim so I’ll be changing it out.
