I bought 2 of these for my sons' dorm rooms. Wish I had something like this when I went to college -- back more than a few decades. Anywho... my sons thought they were too much for their room until they found out that these are bendable and can sit next to their bed for reading or whatnot. Touch control AND a remote. Fool proof to put together. There are perforations to remove the plastic around each section that were wrapped to prevent scratching in shipping I guess. It is taking a bit of adjustment on choosing the type of light I want. Only because now I have so many many options that I didn’t have with the very old floor lamp I have. It’s easy enough to point it in the direction you want and you can change and personalize it. It has a remote also but I haven’t synched it yet ... show more

I ordered this thinking it would be a great lamp to take with me to scrapbooking retreats, where I need extra light but don't want to pack anything huge and don't want to take up any more precious space on my table. I used it this past weekend for that purpose, but I think if that's all I use it for, it will be severely underutilized! There are so many neat features I didn't realize it had and didn't get to use at my retreat, like all the various modes and the timer function. (I actually left the remote at home, so I didn't get to use it until after I returned home.) So without the remote, I had to use the three buttons on the pole of the lamp itself. They were kind of awkward to reach from how I had it positioned - they were facing away from me and I couldn't see them, so I was blindly fumbling for the buttons and not knowing what I was pushing and would sometimes push the wrong button, but that shouldn't be an issue going forward if I'm using the remote. The gooseneck feature was wonderful to be able to adjust the light where I needed it. It was very quick and easy to assemble. Just twist together the few pieces, pull the cord through, and that's it. Now my biggest problem will be deciding where to use this to get the full benefit of it since I only go to scrapbooking retreats a few times a year! Do I keep it in my office, or next to my bed, or over the couch??? ... show more

    • Very bright when needed
This is a great lamp with very easy lighting and dimming controls with the use of the remote. I am so impressed with this one that I got via the Vine Voice program that I am purchasing a second lamp now and will likely get another one in the near future. These lamps don't require a lot of floor space which is nice. We run a non-profit that serves free meals throughout the week, but also is open for crafts, art projects, and sewing lessons also. This lamp is so easy to use and doesn't have to be clamped onto the table so it can be moved from table to table depending on where someone is working on their project. It assembled very easily. The base is very solid, making the lamp stable. The remote is magnetic and can attach to the trunk of the lamp. I'll update should I run into product deficiencies on down the line, but at this time I'm recommending the heck out of this lamp :) ... show more

    • Perfect desk lamp!
This was a really easy lamp to set up to replace an old one that finally quit working. It had to fit behind a large L shaped corner desk, with a small triangle open space between the desk and the wall. I was afraid I was going to have to move everything off the desk and out from under it and then move the desk to get the old one out and this one into its place. I was able to dismantle the old lamp to remove it. I realized when I checked the instructions for this one that the wiring was only in the post and not the base, so I was able to simply slide the base into place in the corner then lower the post down behind the desk and screw it all together. I love the different white temp colors, and being able to dim it if I don't need much light. The remote is extremely handy for me as the controls are on the post and it's not easy to reach them as they sit behind one of my computer monitors. Now I just have to take care to not lose the remote! ... show more

So the great thing about this lamp, is that the bottom base that you screw the whole thing onto is very heavy so it’s not very easy to knock over and I got it specifically because I needed a lamp that could sit next to my table where I have my puzzle board And it works perfect. I’m able to adjust how Close the light is to the puzzle board or how far away I need it. It’s definitely a very useful lamp. ... show more
