I'm just a hobbyist so I don't need a big fancy electric winder but this has turned out to be even handier than I expected it to be.     • Glad I bought it used
It's the perfect size for the rolls I bought I though getting it used might be some problem I might have to fix like a missing wing not not at all everything was there and in perfect order at times I find my self playing with it as a fidget toy 🤔 so I had to hide it or I'd never get anything done 🤣.

    • Careful with clamp
Clamps better on non polished surfaces (like anyone has that in their crafting area!). On an antique veneered table, the clamp can slip off. If you go slow and pay attention it will stay clamped on the table, a polished metal kitchen shelf/table and a powder coated handlebar of a knee scooter (the crafter has a broken foot). Should’ve invested in a bigger winder for the amount of yarn I normally use. I have to slow down toward the end of the winding so the yarn does not loosen and tangle. At times, I have to finish winding by hand to speed things up. When installing the winder, tighten the nut very well so it does not fly off the table. ... show more

This winder works beautifully. I had a number of smaller hanks I had purchased on line and was dreading having to wind them all into balls. I now have 12 cakes sitting on my shelf. You will want to get a swift. This winder came with a package deal with a swift. Just one warning. You will need to have a surface that is even to mount it on.     • Time saving and so much fun
Wow, can you wind yarn fast with this. Now I wind everything! For example, if I have less than half of a cake left, I just rewind it. Undo a project... rewind the yarn. Can't speak to longevity of it, but very satisfied with it.
