Style: Scion OTM136 (60Hz) Green
Purchased an OTM 266 directly from FLIR. Serial # 01281. (same as the OTM 320 but higher resolution). My initial impression was good and the thermal images are great. After owning this monocular for a few days, I started to notice substantial issues. This first is that the SCION does not recognize and as a result, cannot save to an optional SD memory card. I had tried 3 separate cards (two separate 16gb and a 64gb) They are standard cards (FLIR support told me on the phone that cards labelled "HC" will not work). The only default is to store images or videos to the non-removable 2gb internal storage. Although it is not difficult to figure out, the official manual includes no detail on the location of the external storage, nor how to correctly insert/remove a micro usb card from the unit, nor does it mention any restrictions on the type of SD card such as high-capacity, high speed etc. 2nd, the USB-C port does not work as a power source as stated in the manual. Per the manual: "To power the Scion from an external source, plug the cable into any standard USB power". Despite using the included USB-C cable, the monocular could not be powered from multiple USB ports, to include a fully charged 4000mah, 1A USB battery pack that shipped with the SCION. Finally, the scion is equipped with an LED power indicator on the top of the unit. This LED should be illuminated when the unit is powered on and has an option to toggle the feature on/off in the settings menu. Despite having the setting toggled to "on" the led on the top of the unit never illuminated despite being powered on, taking individual pictures, or recording video. ... show more
