Easy to install to existing pond pump with the 2 sizes of hose fittings-mine was compatible to the 3/4 inch fittings and I used clear silicone 3/4 hose(not included)to fit the pump and the filter out port. In about 3 days of 24 hour/day flow, my 75 gallon pond went from no visibility green water to great clear water as if the water was just filled. This was my initial impression. Skip down a bit: I bought this model after comparing to a couple other models that cost two to three times as much. Based on the size and diameters of the tubing, the dwell time should be equivalent to those more expensive devices, and they use the same wattage of bulb, so I expect about the same performance. It's hard to say if it's actually killing germs in my tank, because I already had a UV sterilizer and my tank is quite healthy, as it was before. That was February 18th, 2022. This is November 26th, 2022. 9 months. Now for the real review: Since February, I installed the UV sterilizer and ran it for a couple of months until the bulb died. No problem, I bought four. When I open the thing, all of the little plastic pieces inside that hold the bulb in place and away from the glass wall crumbled in my hands. The plastic is not UV resistant!!! This is a UV light. The outer black casing is also thinning, I expect it's not UV resistant either, except for the small protection it gets by being opaque. Now for the kill. Upon installing a new bulb, I discovered that the ballast is no longer functioning. I tried multiple bulbs which I know are unused. It won't even start the bulb! ... show more

Got it this morning. Good packaging, though product box was unlabeled (must be to keep the price down). The item is of fairly quality, the abs plastic was not that perfectly molded (compared to the other brand I purchased before but will surely work out as to its function/purpose is concerned. Will try to post updates on this once I see how it performs. UPDATE: Finished installation last night (11:00pm), hooked it up with a Quiet One Lifegard pump (317gph). I also installed a ball valve to cut the flow rate by half thus, more dwell (contact) time and making the filtration (UV) more effective and efficient at the same time. Also, I placed a PVC cap (1&1/2") on one of the outlet so just to utilize one of two outlets (I only needed one), it's good that it has two outlets, makes you customize where you want the outlet is going, same side as the inlet or to the opposite side or maybe just both. I did use a good amount of plumbing tape to help seal the cap screw water-tight. Checked after 12hrs around 11:00am this morning. So far I'm very satisfied with the first 12hrs-post installation! Frag tank was clearer than ever (aside from the calcifying algae that's stuck on the tank wall), water had more movement, skimmer had finer microbubbles, and the sump didn't smell fishy unlike 12hrs before installation. One other good thing I appreciate is that the inlet has a flow meter of some sort, it's basically an indicator of "flow" not soecifically a measure of it though. Five (5)⭐️'s for being an Affordable unit, easy-install, no leaks, accessible parts and adaptability. ... show more
