Great Fit

Purchased for a Shoei RF-SR helmet. This is the perfect camera mount for this helmet. I previously purchased a square adhesive pad type mount but recognized the adhesive area would be partially on the helmet trim and partially on a portion of the slide base of the air vent - and likely lose it’s adhesion. The FLEX Slim mount is affixed completely to the smooth helmet surface. After bending the mount to align it to the helmet contour I wiped the mounting area with the furnished alcohol pad as directed in the instructions. I then cut the covering from the adhesive strip in the middle. I did this rather than deal with positioning the mount with all the adhesive exposed. To mount it I positioned it and pulled the covering from the middle to the ends one side at a time. I then pressed the mount to secure it. A small extra step but it avoided having the adhesive stick where I didn’t want it.

Fits on an Arai Corsair-x helmet.

I bought this mount for an Arai Corsair-x helmet with a matte paint scheme and found to fit fairly well. I didn’t use the adhesive primer as I feared it would damage the paint job since it smelled like some kind of thinner so I used 70% alcohol instead. After allowing the alcohol to dry I removed the peel from the adhesive on the mount and placed it where I wanted. I had woodworking clamps ready to apply pressure on mount. I didn’t tighten the clamp all that much but enough to firmly mold the mount to the curvature of the helmet. I then let it sit for 24 hours before removing the clamps. I have since mounted a dji osmo 5 pro without issue and have ridden on highways with minimal wind protection and haven’t noticed the mount loosening or otherwise becoming unstable. I haven’t ridden in rain but from my experience with VHB and similar adhesives, as long as you thoroughly clean your surface and allow enough curing time then it should stay put. As far as aesthetics go, it definitely detracts from my helmet design but the build quality is sturdier than the chin mounts one. I would also appreciate if the prongs that screw onto the camera mounts or go pro extensions were matte black like the dji and insta360 ones instead of the outdated glossy ones from yesterday’s go pros. It also uses the old shiny dome nut that go pro mounts use that make it look really outdated and flimsy. It’s not mind you but a change to dji’s or insta 360’s flush brushed metal nut would make the product look truly premium. I will update this review if I notice anything else in the future but if I don’t you can assume it’s been an excellent product.

Amazing but not for all

I have bought this relatively inexpensive item multiple times and boy did I love it. I used it on my Shoei RF-SR and RF-1400 and I've had absolutely no issues. The sleek black rubber and the sticky adhesive work perfectly especially when matched with the adhesive promoter. The quality of the plastic that held my camera in even in one of my crashes did not falter once. I did have to adjust its angle to find a decent amount to find the perfect camera angle but it was all worth it once I git to watch it on a larger screen. Now the reason why I gave 4 stars isn’t because of an issue that I personally had but I was the one who purchased and installed this on a Sedici Strada 2 and unfortunately it was not able to hold up. This was my father’s helmet and I had purchased him a full camera setup for his helmet too. Unfortunately since the strada 2 has a relatively sharp point it was not able to mold properly to the helmet and ended up falling off mid ride. Due to that we are down a camera and mount. Overall I think this is a great product for its price in comparison to other competitors and would recommend it to others.

Works good, best used with heat, has low mounting angle.

Great product and it works very well. Install is a bit more involved that a standard pad mount but worth the effort. The instructions say to bend the strip prior to installation, so it can adhere better. After install I suggest using a heat gun or going for a ride on a hot day. Once it's soft, press it into the helmet even more. Be aware the mounting holes are placed on a thick base so a camera can't be rotated that far back. Be sure to mount it high up on the chin.

I'd say this is the best motorcycle mount available on the market for sure. If installed properly by heating it up good first. Prepping helmet surface with alcohol good.. etc.. it will hold at amy speed and any bumps in the road. I do 180MPH regularly. It hasn't budged. I prepped helmet eoth alcohol wipes first. I heated it really good with blow dryer.. I did it perfectly in 1 try. Hasn't bidged yet. Make sure you bend it good first too. Better to bend it a little too much rather than a little to little. You dont want ends to pop up. Bend them in good.. stick on center firmly first.. then go slowly out to edges and apply extreme pressure on the entire thing. Let it cool down good. Let it stick on good. Then its ready to go. I was contemplating buying a few different ones. But this is for sure the slickest mount you can buy for any action cam or any helmet.

Awesome mount. Super strong. Easy install with a perfect fit. I have a scorpion exo t520 and normal mounting plates won't work because my vents go down so low. The slim low profile of the motoradd mount fits perfectly under my vents. Being able to bend and shape it to the helmet shape was absolutely perfect. I will be purchasing more for my other helmets. I had ordered a chin mount brand for my first helmet and it just felt cheap and fragile. Motoradd mounts is the wat to go.

Not for Fox V1 Motocross helmets with large chin airflow openings!

Seems like a really solid(good) mount if you want a permanent solution. I took a star off because it wasn’t a good option for my Fox V1 helmet. As this helmet has a large opening for airflow on the chin. I thought I’d be able to mount it right below on the very bottom, but it wouldn’t have worked out due to not enough real estate. So I mounted it right in the middle of that opening. It formed perfectly around the edges and the 3M adhesive seemed sturdy. But having the mount not sticking to anything in the middle of the air vent, where the GoPro is..on top of the weight of the GoPro with the media mod case, it was causing the GoPro to bounce when walking and tap against the helmet. Aka, I’m sure over time it would become annoying. I took a star off for that because it truly isn’t “universal” in that sense, unless I mounted it on the cheek and bought another mount to turn the GoPro sideways so it faced the action and not a helmet. Blah blah. Installation was easy and quick. Probably 2min tops including the prep cleaning the area, pre bending the sticky arms and installing it. And removal left no damage even though it was on for 3hrs and my helmet is a gloss finish. Some Qtips and alcohol got it off within 1minute. I’d imagine leaving one on for months or years will be a task. As 3M tends to rip bits of the foam backing before full removal lol. With that said, if you’ve made it this far, I’d suggest this product only for glossy helmets. Matte helmets may be a nightmare to remove after some good use!
