Description

Take your productivity to the next level with the FLEX 120V Rotary Drywall Sander, which features an industry-first carbon fiber shaft for ultralightweight construction that helps make drywall sanding effortless so you can sand room after room with reduced fatigue. At just 6.2 lbs, its light weight is supported by advanced ergonomics like its flexible shaft construction and T-handle design for comfortable all-day use whether you’re sanding walls or ceilings. The sander features improved head flexibility with 160-degree range of motion for easy maneuverability, and its optimized head design delivers superior dust control to reduce airborne particles for a cleaner jobsite. The sander head is compatible with a detachable ring light (FT371, sold separately) that illuminates your work area at the surface to reveal uneven finishes, eliminating the need for time-consuming rework. Its brushless motor delivers high power, greater efficiency, and better balance thanks to its location in the handle of the sander rather than its head. A vacuum hose adapter is included for quick connections to vacuums for dust control.

  • Great power, great dust control, and easy to use Great power, great dust control, and easy to use
This drywall sander is a well‑designed tool with a lot of thoughtful features that make it easy to use, even if you’re not a pro. It takes a 9‑inch hook‑and‑loop sanding pad (not included), and the six speed settings give you plenty of control for everything from light smoothing to removing popcorn texture. The 8‑amp motor has more than enough power, and the speed memory feature is a nice touch—it starts right where you left off. At 6.2 pounds, it’s lighter than I expected, and the carbon‑fiber shaft and T‑shaped handle make it comfortable to maneuver on walls and ceilings. The on/off switch with a lock‑on button is convenient for longer sessions, and the included circular brush helps prevent those edge‑marks that can happen with round sanders while also helping contain dust. Dust control is excellent when paired with a good shop vac. The tool includes a vacuum hose adapter, but the hose itself isn’t included. With my larger vacuum, I had almost no airborne dust—just a light film left on the walls. Keeping the sanding pad clear of the air holes makes a noticeable difference in airflow. There is a bit of a learning curve, especially managing the vacuum hose so it doesn’t get in your way, and you do need to pay attention to pressure. Push too hard and you can cut into the paper layer of the drywall. Higher‑grit discs are worth picking up if you want a smoother finish. The tool runs quieter than expected—the vacuum is the loudest part of the setup. It also comes with a carrying bag, which makes storage easier. Overall, this is a strong performer for both DIY projects and more demanding jobs. It’s lightweight, powerful, and delivers clean, consistent results with very little mess. ... show more

  • Your shoulders will thank you by the end of the day. Your shoulders will thank you by the end of the day.
**Spoiler alert** Flex raised the bar with this new Drywall Sander. The presentation alone sets the tone before you even power it on, the unboxing experience is premium and feels intentional from the moment you open the case. Everyone talks about how light this sander is, but you do not truly appreciate it until you have a frame of reference. Coming from hoisting a heavy sander overhead through popcorn ceiling nightmares, then moving to the big yellow brand and still walking away with burning shoulders, the Flex solves that problem and makes both of those feel like an unnecessary workout by comparison. At around 7 pounds it runs a pound and a half to two pounds lighter than nearly every other drywall sander on the market, and that difference becomes everything when you are working overhead for extended periods and still need energy left to finish the rest of the job. What does not get talked about enough is the noise level. This is the quietest drywall sander I have ever used, and that is saying something when you already have a roaring HEPA vac running in the background , the sander simply does not add another loud voice to that choir. The carbon fiber shaft delivers excellent grip for maximum mobility, the speed controls sit conveniently within reach, and the dial takes you from slow steady rotations all the way to turbo depending on what the surface calls for. The pivoting head glides across walls and ceilings and adapts naturally without forcing it. The included carrying case is the cherry on top , transport and storage are genuinely effortless with room left over to throw in extra pads. If you do drywall work regularly and you are still muscling through jobs with a heavier sander, you're doing it wrong. Give this a try, ... show more

  • Works good for what it is, but it is not cheap.
I’ll start by saying this thing is absolutely overpriced for what it does. There is no way around that. You’re paying a premium here, and if you’re only doing one project, it’s honestly hard to justify when cheaper options exist that will get the job done. That said, once you actually use it, you can tell it’s a nice piece of equipment. Everything about it feels solid and well thought out. It runs smooth, has plenty of power, and makes quick work of sanding without fighting you the whole time. The reach and balance are good, which matters more than you think when you’re working overhead or on larger surfaces. Dust control is decent with the right setup, and it just feels more refined compared to the bargain stuff. Not necessarily life changing, but definitely more polished. If you’re doing drywall regularly, I can absolutely see the value in spending the money on something like this. It’s the kind of tool that would hold up over time and make the job less miserable. But if you’re just knocking out one project, this is probably overkill and a cheaper unit will get you there just fine. I’ll probably hang onto it since it does work really well, but it’s definitely one of those tools that takes up space when it’s not being used. ... show more

  • Excellent unit that will handle what you throw at it.
Well first off I am a Flex fanboy, I have a lot of their tools and have been happy with all of them. The drywall sander is great for my home, it's older so I have been doing a lot of repairs. I have been using the drywall sander to run over my freshly washed walls to remove 30 years of bad paint jobs and crud. This has made my finished painted wall look so much better. The sander makes it so easy to smooth the wall that I just do it now all the time, not just when I see defects. I use a shop vac also, so you get the suction of the sander plus the additional suction from your shopvac which eliminates most of the drywall dust. One thing to note, you have to keep this unit moving, standing still on a certain area will "oversand" and create tape exposure etc. So for feathering, use one of the light grit discs and keep it moving and results will amaze you, even all the dog hair, dirt and grime. I know this unit is a bit pricey but honestly this would be the last unit you will ever need, probably hand it down to your kids. I believe this could hold up to professional use too. It's really well built but it's still light enough to use all day. ... show more

  • Light weight and powerful
This is the bees knees of drywall sanders. The light weight design (only 6.2 pounds) makes it easier to use for an extended period of time and one of the lightest on the market. The 160 degree head movement ensures you get everywhere you need with the right pressure. The brushless motor has more than enough power to sand even the worst of mud jobs. The most amazing part is the dust collection of this unit. They nailed it and there is very little dust left floating in the air or falling to the floor. It comes with a bag to keep everything together and for easy transport. You want to take it to the next level you can get an optional light ring that snaps on to the head so you see every little mark and flaw so you can get to that level 5 finish. ... show more

  • Beautiful packaging and tool, shame it's so dirty now
Beautiful piece of equipment! Packaging is way nicer than one would expect for a drywall sander. Likewise, the case is amazing. Can't wait for someone to think it's a trombone, ha! As a lover of smooth drywall -- a bad habit I picked up while living in the central atlantic -- I'll be using this to show my southern textured drywall peeps the way. Highly recommended, and this put Flex tools as a brand on my radar. ... show more
