Have little ones crawling/jumping around and there are no sharp edges which is great. Very easy to put together, just takes a little time. If you find it difficult you probably shouldn't be ordering flat pack furniture! Or drink the bottle of wine afterwards ;) I had a small problem with the headboard, o contacted Flash Furniture direct by phone and they were extremely helpful - sent a new one out and didn't need the old one back. YEAR UPDATE******Almost a year later, and I’m still happy and impressed by the sturdiness of this bed. Zero complaints. Still in love. I’m absolutely IN LOVE with this bed. The box arrived in perfect shape, and did not take any beatings during shipping. I love the simpleness and ease of assembling it. It took all of 45 minutes. But, what I’m most impressed with is how sturdy it is. Extremely sturdy!!!!!! This bed is very well made at it’s reasonable price. Stop shopping. Get this. You won’t regret it. I spent months reading reviews (I’m overly cautious) on other beds and brands, and finally had a good feeling on this one. Turns out I wasn’t wrong. I went with King in black and love the color and fabric. The headboard is extremely high whereas your pillows will not cover it up! I have a 12 inch memory foam and it goes perfect! My son has been sleeping on this bed for a few weeks now. It took some time for him to get used to it because it's a little lower than what he's used too. The bed is really sturdy. It was easy putting together. The headboard is pretty tall so we did try to use the bed with a 7 inch box spring with 11 inch mattress but it didn't look right so I would need a low profile box spring to bring it up a few inches. However, this is not as low as most platform beds. I think you can use it either way, with matress only or with a low profile box spring. Depending on your height preference. Overall, I'm please with how well this bed is made. This was my first time purchasing a bed online and I was hoping that it wasnt cheap since sometimes it looks better online than in person. It's a great looking bed and we haven't had any issues with it. Nothing broken or squeaky and the best part of all ...it was affordable! ... show more

Love love LOVE this bed! My husband and I recently moved to a bigger place and decided to upgrade our bed. We shopped around quite a lot looking for a bed that was high quality and sturdy, yet not insanely expensive. After looking extensively, I narrowed it down to this bed and one other. I was pretty torn but after reading reviews I realized this one was probably going to be the safer bet. And I'm so glad we went with this one! It was fairly easy to assemble (it took my husband and I about an hour, but you could probably do it in less time), it's sturdy, and looks absolutely beautiful once finished – it was just what I was looking for. You seriously won't regret buying this bed, it's perfect! I will warn you though that it is EXTREMELY heavy. We had to open the box and take it upstairs piece-by-piece because it was just too heavy, lol. If you're looking for a new bed, this is it! (We got the king size and the 10in Chime mattress by Ashley and I'm in love with that as well, though in retrospect I might have preferred the 12in. Comforter set from Home Depot). ... show more

After weeks of research we finally hedged our bets and went with this. Spent a lot on the mattress (Winkbed: highly recommend!) so didn’t want to break the bank on a replacement bedframe. We also didn’t want to make the same mistake we did as newlyweds by going ultra cheap on the bed foundation so we decided on a platform style instead. With my husband being a husky-ish 6’3” and me being pleasantly plump, we knew we needed something more sturdy than average. We tried one of those heavy duty metal platforms but quickly realized we couldn’t live without the head/footboard combo. This arrived 2 days later with Prime, and took my (newly handy) husband about an hour to assemble with me helping to put the slats on. Here we are close to 2 months later and not a single creak. I’m in awe actually. The only design flaw (pictured here) is that the bed is too short for our mattress, off by half an inch or so, causing the mattress to “spill over” onto the footboard. If I squeeze it in it barely goes but that’s a pain after rotating the mattress every so often. This warrants one less star for an otherwise great platform bed. The light grey upholstery looks and feels good in person, tying everything together real nicely. Our last headboard was almost couch -like, if that’s what you want, this isn’t it. What this is good for is placing flush against a wall with a pillow or two in-between you and the headboard for comfy TV viewing or reading before bed. It also keeps our toddler from banging his head against the wall! It’s not the highest quality but we’ve definitely seen worse in store for A LOT more money. I’d say the headboard is mid-grade, good solid quality but not luxury. We are very satisfied and also assured that if something does go wrong, we at least didn’t break the bank doing so. ... show more
