I was nervous about buying this online but it was only around $150 with free shipping so I took a chance. I’m really happy with it. The base is actual wood, not some crappy wood substitute, and the top is quite heavy and solid. After screwing the pieces tightly, it doesn’t wobble at all. My mom came over and asked where I got it and she was very surprised that it was so cheap. Other reviewers said you NEED two people to assemble, but I’m a regular lady and I managed by myself. After 37 years of practicing law behind a 6.5 foot mahogany behmoth, I trashed it and the standard overstuffed executive chair. I got this bad boy, a 60's style lamp (with LEDs) and a chair that looks like Roccoro. What a difference this made to the office. I can do a few more years before pulling the plug. I know it's a dining room table...really smaller...a dinette. Amazon's inexpensive 4 drawer cabinet makes a perfect combination. If you are looking for a great quality, smaller kitchen table then I would highly recommend this one, especially for the price! Right out of the box it was easy to assemble, there aren't too many pieces so it was very straight forward and the instructions were easy to follow. Every part of it is well made: the wooden pieces that make up the base of the table are solid pieces of wood and not something that you would typically see in table in this price range. The glass is hardy and good quality, I've put it through the ringer since I got it and nothing seems to make it scratch and I haven't had any issues with chipping or anything. The edges are slightly rounded so no need to worry about little ones running around and hurting themselves. I tend to move a lot, so a huge selling point for me is that with a little effort it is simple to detach the top glass portion from the base and move it to another location. That isn't to say that it isn't a solid piece, if you needed it to sit in one place for years, rest assured, it will do so with ease. For a table in this price range, I really don't think you'll find something better especially if you're looking for something mid-century modern and well built. I use this table as my desk daily. It was easy to put together. It is classic and simple. I love it. It works for putting together puzzles and drawing or coloring so I don’t have lines on my creations. I also use it for my big projects so I have space to spread stuff out. Wow - just amazing and so beautiful! I’m using as my office desk. Great space. I’m a single female and the package was not too heavy. Took me 15 minutes to put together. When you lay the glass on top be careful. I put a small scratch in the piece yet it buffed out with a touch of varnish.
