The padded swivel seat is filled with 3" of foam and features a waterfall edge. Height adjustable padded armrests take pressure off your shoulders and neck. Easily adjust the seat's back angle, seat height and tilt angle with three paddle mechanisms conveniently located under the seat. The infinite-locking back angle adjustment helps reduce disc pressure by changing the angle of your torso. • The multi-tilt chair I've been looking for for a couple of years
Item Package Quantity: 1 Color: Black
I've been looking for a reasonably priced multi-tilt chair for a couple of years. They had disappeared for quite a while. This one is pretty close to ideal. And, it's a decent price. On the positive side, I really appreciate the padded armrests. My previous chair didn't have that, and I ended up buying pads for it. Turns out I need that. Picking some nits on the negatives, the cushioning of the seat is merely adequate. It feels like it's going to compress after not too long. And, I wish it would tilt back a little bit more. There are times I'd like to take a little more weight off of my lower spine. The biggest issue is that, when it arrived, the box was trashed. In fact, it looked very much like it had literally been pulled out of the trash. One of the corners on the long side was torn the entire length of the box, with one piece of tape loosely across the gap to hold the two pieces together. There was a half-hearted attempt to tape the top from end-to-end. So, basically, the box was torn in half. Obviously, I can't tell where this damage happened. Except, it did not look like the kind of damage that usually happens during shipping. Somehow, the small parts remained in the box. But, the main post was missing. The woman I talked to from the company was pretty helpful. It took a while to find the correct stickers and paperwork to get the model number and proof of purchase, and she was patient about that. For some reason, it took two tries, but it did finally show up. I paid $176, and I'd say it's well worth that price. As I'm typing this a few months later, I see that the price has dropped to below $150. Recommended. ---------- Update Sep 2017 I bought the original char in late 2013. So, I've had this chair for almost four years. The multi-tilt mechanism lost its grip in about six months. Partly my fault. Occasionally, the chair would be tilted back when I got up. When I sat back down on it, I'd sit on the front lip. Eventually, that put enough pressure and leverage on the mechanism to force it to slide. After a few times of doing that, it was worn out completely. So, you know, don't do that. I called the company, asking if they thought it could be fixed. The woman I talked to had no idea. In the end, they shipped me a new center post. I procrastinated, but eventually replaced that. Turns out, that's not what it takes to fix this problem. It probably takes replacing all of the hardware between the post and the chair. I don't know if they'd send that. Or, if they'd maybe replace the chair. This was a coupla years later, so I didn't contact them about it. The cushioning lasted a little better than I feared. I'd still like a little more firmness and longevity. But, it doesn't feel like I'm sitting flat on the hard pan of the chair. I may start looking for some sort of aftermarket cushioning that doesn't slide around. I think that would bug me more than what's here. The outer covering does show wear. But, there's nothing sticking out and jabbing me. I'm very much a form follows function person. I'm fine with this in my home office. If the aesthetics are very important to you, then this chair wouldn't be for you. About a month ago, one of the screws holding the back to its support sheared off. The other screw still on there, holding the back to the support. But it does flop around a little. This was the final straw for me. Having said all that, I still like this chair enough that I went ahead and ordered another. At the price I paid, its value was about $45/year. At its current price of $128, I'd only need it to last about three years to get the same value. A $500 chair would need to last at least eleven years for the same value. Methinks that's kind of a long time for a multi-tilt mechanism to last. I still think this chair is Good Enough. Obviously, I'd prefer it to last forever. But, if I can be more careful about not sitting on the chair while tilted, then I think I can expect five years from it. If that's true, then I think this chair is definitely worth it. I'm not a fan of the throwaway society. But, multi-tilt chairs are still hard to find. The choices seem to be this one, or chairs costing 4x-8x as much. And, as I said above, I don't expect any multi-tilt mechanism to last 4x+ as long as this one should. If you want a multi-tilt mechanism, then you're probably going to be replacing your chair every five years or so. There's friction on those parts that is going to wear them out. You're going to have to wrap your brain around that fact. At the prices I've seen this on this listing, I can still recommend this chair. ---------- Update Nov 2018 Because I have exercised a little bit of care when sitting, the tilt mechanism is still working one year later. I simply make it a point to never put my weight all the way onto the front lip of the chair. So, it appear the chair is capable of lasting quite a while. ---------- Update Nov 2019 Another year in. Still working. I did get tired of the hard seat from the compressed material. I ended up buying a cushion for it. Much more comfortable. I still heartily recommend this chair. ---------- Update Jul 2021 Still works. It looks like the discipline with all multi-tilt chairs is to not drop down on the front lip and strain the mechanism. But, the chair is currently unavailable. That sucks. Hopefully it'll be another few years before I need to replace this one. If it comes back at a reasonable price, I'd still buy this. ... show more

  • My back feels amazing....
Item Package Quantity: 1 Color: Black
SEE LATEST UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE (1/2015) Recently I decided to take some words of advice I read on the internet: When buying something, consider how much you plan on using that item. If it is a lot, consider spending a little more on getting something of higher quality. I took those words to heart, and have been on a kick- upgrading the things I use often with higher quality things- things like my bed, my keyboard and mouse, monitors, shoes, my desk, and now, my chair. I am relatively young. A few months shy of 25. I still feel I am pretty resilient but I can't bounce back from things like I used too. I can't sit hunched back for hours in front of the computer anymore without my back starting to ache a bit. I have only owned cheap office chairs. Typically the cheapest I could find. Think $50 - $80 office chairs at Walmart. Little to no support. Certainly no ergonomic features. Only lower/mid back padding. So- I scoured the internet. Really, all I could afford with already dropping $300 on a desk was $200 for a chair. After narrowing everything down- I came across this bad boy here on Amazon. It was as close to my budget as possible and had pretty favorable reviews. So I took the plunge. It arrived quickly with Prime- box was kind of heavy. I let it sit for few days. I imagined bags full of screws and tons of tiny parts- but nope. I was pretty surprised to only find 12 screws and washers and one side of page for the instructions. Zero words. All pictures. Took a total of 25 minutes to put together and that was because I kept stopping to watch The Hobbit which I had playing in the background. I got it on the ground- sat in it, messed with all the different levers, knobs, arm rests- and wow. This thing feels amazing. I never knew how tense my back was sitting in the other chair until I sat on this and felt the tension completely loosen up. There is what I can only describe a "balloon" on the lower part of this chair that inflates when you turn a knob- great for lumber support. The chair has great padding. I was sort of surprised how nice the arm rests were. Only time will tell if the padding will hold up- but so far, this chair is a knock out. For the price, ease of set up, and comfort- this is THE chair to have. I am so glad I got it. I only wish I had done it sooner. Edit 5/8/2014 After 5 months of use I am glad to say this thing is still holding up. The padding is still the way it should be and the mechanics of the chair are still rock solid. Buy it already! Edit 1/19/2015 So about a year and a month of use, a wheel at the base of the chair popped out and would not stay in. There is a plastic piece that goes around the top of the wheel. This plastic essentially holds the wheel to the base. I have one of those chair mats at my desk. I think what happened, is over the year, I would roll the chair out where one wheel would always have to come back onto this mat. Most of the time the wheel would actually go under the mat and the chair would snag. So I believe I am at fault for it breaking. But this update isn't so much about me breaking it but the absolute exemplary customer service I experienced with Flash Furniture.I emailed them on their website explaining what happened, why I believe the chair broke, how I was at fault, if I could order a new base for the chair and how much it would cost me. They got back to me within 24 hours asking me about the chair I had, I provided information about my chair model. They emailed me back (within 24 hours) saying that they will be shipping me a new base, free of charge. This made my day, because I love this chair. But that wasn't what took the cake...they ended up shipping the replacement part overnight shipping. I was so confused when I got box the next from FedEx. I had some trouble getting the base off, but I managed after some wd-40 and...a sledgehammer. Base has been swapped out- still loving the chair. Still highly recommended! ... show more
