    • Holding up well to the abuse of a 6'4 350lb teenager after 5 months.

This chair is holding up well after 5 months since purchase. I have a houseful of huge teenagers 6ft4 350lbs. Teenagers aren't known for taking it easy on stuff, and after killing a couple other office style chairs we settled on this one. Normal style office chairs are just not wide enough, the arms press into the side of their legs and the cushioning breaks down too fast, reclining mechanisms wear out and break too quickly. . This one is much more comfortable and gives much more room than a "normal" size office chair. It's pretty comfy even though it doesn't recline. Assembly was pretty straightforward. As mentioned in a few other reviews, it helps to not tighten the bolts on the backrest all the way to allow it a little wriggle room to get all the bolts lined up first, and then tighten them. As far as the leather covering on the cushions goes, it's holding up well too. No tears or cracking, it feels like leather to me, but I'm no expert. So overall it's doing pretty good and I would buy another in the future as needed. ... show more

First let me say this, We have tested out over 14 different "heavy duty " office chairs prior to this one. Our only criteria was to find a chair that would be sturdy, be in black leather, and wide for comfort. 14 failed. This one is incredible. Our heaviest cohort at 410lbs sat down rather quickly to test its reactionary balances and it didnt budge at all. The chair is a must for anyone looking for a comfortable, tailbone supporting, wide office chair able to withstand your higher weight limits. Now, the 2 reasons for the 4star review. 1st, not at the sellers fault but the box had the chair legs protruding fully out in 2 locations causing massive scratching of the black coating of the legs. This doesnt effect use but perhaps better packing protection would help this issue in the future. 2nd, the 4 holes in the back for the screws are not equally aligned, so the assembly does take some finagling. Again, as long as you can take some time and elbow grease, it ends up just fine, but the holes being aligned would certainly help the situation. Overall I stand by my review of a worthy purchase. We paid $160 before tax and find this am extremely acceptable price point for such a well built chair. 2 who have lower back issues have also sat in this for over 2 hours straight and have no difficulties. Depending on the cause of your back pain a sciatic or lumbar pillow may still be needed but for general aches this chair certainly helps. ... show more

I ordered this chair because my normal desk chair kept breaking even though it was rated for 350 lbs and I'm 6' 270lbs. It's extremely sturdy feeling and it only took me 10 mins to put together without reading the enclosed instructions. Actually, it took me 20 mins to just unwrap all the parts. It was actually comical at how they were wrapped. I remembered the reviews where people were "upset" that it had a scratch or two so I like to think this was done sarcastically and made me laugh whilst taking a year to get the bubble wrap and other protective cloth off the parts. It's very wide, nice and firm. I don't see how this chair could possibly fail mechanically. The only thing I've noticed is it doesn't have support under the seat so maybe that's something to take into consideration. It will far outlast it's PU Leather I'm sure. I would absolutely purchase another one if I found myself needing a second for whatever reason. ... show more

First do not cut the box. It doesn't say not to anywhere but be aware you will cut the chair. NEXT, I have a lung disease and it is trying to kill me with fumes! Literally. I cannot breathe with it in the house. We will put it in the garage for a few days but if it doesn't air out it will have to go back... HORRIBLE. UPDATE: 6 days later brought it in and still the fumes are still very present. Gave the chair to my grandson and he is going to use it. Fumes don't seem to affect him. The chair is over 60ft away behind a closed door and the fumes are still messing with me.... Oh and Flash Furniture customer service SUCKS! ... show more

This just arrived today and is great. VERY solid and pretty comfortable. I have several very large patients and think this chair will help them feel more comfortable during their appointments. It has a very nice look and is equal in quality to chairs I've seen at three or four times the price. I definitely recommend this chair. The key to assembly is to loosely attach the seat before attaching the back, then tighten all of the bolts after assembly. Much easier if you follow this tip. ... show more
