Top Amazon Reviews

  • Meets Expectations
Color: Black
I read reviews on several of these "massage recliners" and chose this one for the wide armrests and big pockets on both sides. The frame looks identical to another T&D model, so I put faith in the positive reviews on that model despite the lack of feedback on this one. Assembly took about an hour by myself and left me with some doubts about durability--there's not a whole lot holding this thing together, but time will tell. If it self destructs in less than a year, I'll let you know. The pleather looks cheaper when you're up close and personal with it during assembly, too, but sitting behind my desk it looks quite nice. Comfort-wise, it's about like the front seats in a decent sedan. It has nice firm back support and the seat is neither hard nor plush. The reclining mechanism is free-gliding, with no levers or locks, holding its position mainly by friction between the back and arms. As such, it mimics the action of an office chair with some tilt to it, but there's quite a bit of plastic-on-plastic noise when changing positions. It's not the most nerve-shattering kind of plastic-on-plastic noise, but you're not going to settle quietly into this chair if someone's napping in the same room. The vibrating action is a little better than expected. Reviewers of similar chairs who described it as a "dry hot-tub" effect were dead on. The motors aren't loud at all--my eyelids were getting heavy during the first session. At six feet tall, I need a little more head support when fully reclined, but a thin pillow does the job. The upper back motor only hits at the base of my shoulder blades, which is still nice but I wouldn't mind getting some action a few inches higher. After trying this baby out, I'm tempted to get a vibrating neck pillow and strap a cell phone to each arm ;) Mine will serve mainly as an office chair, with the ottoman coming into play when I watch movies or read at my desk (not to mention the occasional "dry hot-tub" session). Going wheelless takes some getting used to, but the swiveling is smooth and the height's about right. If I ever get this desk cleaned off, I'll post some pictures. ... show more

  • Exceptional Comfort for the Price
Color: Black
A great value chair with a couple of negative points but certainly not deal-breakers. The Negatives I find I don't care for the ottoman being separate because the cord gets in the way. The seat cushion while firm and comfy the first week, squished down to a barely-there cushion after that. I added an orthopedic cushion and now it is perfect. The directions were adequate but the recliner assembles in an unexpected manner, it took me a while to figure out I should follow the directions no matter how different they seemed. The Positives The overall size of the recliner is great I am 5'11' and 200 lbs and fit very comfortably in the recliner. The heat and vibrator controls are simple and effective and the deep pockets on the sides of the recliner are super handy. The chair swivels quietly and fully it feels sturdy to me and very well built. It looks great in my living area - exactly as was pictured. I love the shutoff timer on the vibrator and heater. The price was right and the features as advertised or better. Would I buy it again? Yes! I added on a seat cushion and I have a sturdy and comfy recliner at a bargain price. ... show more

  • Comfortable but broken
Color: Black
Chair is comfortable, but the ottoman did not work.

  • some pros but one big con
Color: Black
I bought this chair as an office chair, but it's much too short for that. You aren't able to adjust the height. Also, going wheel-less was a mistake, at least for me. Too often I get up and I have to push the chair back with my feet (thank goodness I have hardwood and not carpet) and it's annoying. The major pro is that the massage function actually works, even in the Ottoman. It has several different settings that are controlled by a device attached to the side, which fits in the pocket. I can see putting this in my living room and using it for reading. The reclining function is terrific. The major con is that the padding has already fallen and I can feel the vibrating machinery beneath my feet (I like to sit on my feet in my chair). I just ordered a cushion to solve this, but since that will take away the benefit of the massager on the seat, it seems silly. I think I might just order a new office chair and move this to the living room for reading. With a small cushion, I'll still get the massage benefit to the back, legs, and neck and possibly some on the seat, we'll see. Also, I can't stress enough how comfy it is when it's reclined and you have the stool. As for easy of assembly, I'm not handy and I thought it was pretty easy to assemble. ... show more

  • "very Low"
Color: Black
I read the reviews and they were all on target The one thing I didn't pay much attention to is the comment on how low this chair is. It is very low to the ground - in fact the seat is just 15" inch's off the floor. I had back surgery and got this to help relax in, it does vibrate - NOT massage - as every review has said - there is a heat button that does nothing - it doesn't heat up at all. I will have to create a new base for the chair and the ottoman - its just very difficult to get out of - I need to add about 24" inch's to the height to make it really useable for me - not sure how I am going to do this - also on wood floors it is slippery and can move on ya with out notice. At $200 its just okay - if I did it again I would keep looking ... show more

  • This chair is very comfortable, and is sturdy
Color: Black
This chair is very comfortable, and is sturdy, yet lightweight. The massage and heat features are pretty good, not excellent, but pretty darn good. There isn't a lot of vibration that travels through the base of the chair, some, but not a lot, which can be an issue with downstairs neighbors. The vibrate/massage function is pretty quiet. The reclining aspect is a little weird. It is sticky. There isn't a smooth lever mechanism to recline the chair. Reclining the chair depends on the tightness of the bolts in the joints on the bottom/rear, so if you want to recline you have to force the back of the chair back with your back, or the reverse to incline. This also isn't a great chair for larger people as the arm rests are not spaced very wide. I would think people 225+ would have a hard time getting comfortable in it. ... show more
