  • Simple recliner. Very comfy.
Color: Brown
Shopping around town almost all the recliners I see are giant chairs with massage features and cup holders and power this-or-that... I wanted a simple recliner and this fits the bill. You sit in it. Slip the ottoman into position. Put up your feet. Relax. Ahhh. The foam cushioning is deep. There's a lever that's almost hidden on the right side. Pull it out and you can slip the back's angle back and forth. Let the handle go and the chair back locks into the new position (there's something like 8 to 10 notches on the locking rail). The chair's base is on a sort of lazy-susan. You can turn the chair in any direction with little effort. But it won't spin freely like many office chairs. Meh - you don't need to spin this chair. (Jan 26, 2021) I wound up applying a little silicone lubricant to the plastic "bearings" on the upper ring and the chair now spins smoothly and quietly. Chair is not heavy. I had no trouble flipping it around during assembly. Both the chair and ottoman and sliders on their base that allows them to slide smoothly on my hardwood floor. I don't have any carpets so I don't know how easy it is to slide them around on carpets. So its comfortable and has multiple positions. Anything wrong with it? A few things. 1. I would like for the back to recline another 30 degrees or so. The furthest it will go back is pretty nice for a light nap... but it would be nicer if it went back just a bit more. 2. Assembly is a bit of a hassle. I strongly recommend assembling the ottoman first. That will use up some of the bolts and washers and it won't be so confusing figuring out what bolt you need for the various steps in the chair assembly. The chair assembly isn't TOO bad except for Step One. That's where you have to insert bolts that keep the seat attached to the back. The tricky part is that when you try to line up the bolt holes the cushions get in the way. You have to press on the back with one hand, press on the seat with one hand and, when the bolt holes line up, insert a bolts with your 3rd hand. Yeah... that's not easy. I wound up using a knee to sort of move the seat into the right spot. This step would be MUCH easier if there was somebody to give you a hand for a couple of minutes. This step is where you use the supplied wrench. Holds on to one end of the bolt while you tighten the other end. The rest of the assembly can be done by one person without too much trouble. The instructions are in picture diagram form and aren't too hard to follow. The various bolts are hard to tell apart on the instructions. If you do the ottoman first then there's less confusion. 3. The skin looks nice. It's feels good... and it feels VERY thin. It's still in perfect shape after a week of usage but I suspect it might not last a long time. If it splits I'll update this review. But, so far - so good. ----------- Update as of June 2, 2022 ---------- The thin skin is still intact. ... show more

  • Works for me
Color: Black
I’m sitting here reading ridiculous reviews about quality, comfort, construction etc…. What part of this is a chair that’s costs under $400, don’t you people get? This isn’t high end furniture, it’s a glorified home office chair. I’m using it in my basement “Man Cave” as additional seating for Sunday Football Games. You get what you pay for and this is an inexpensive, functional and comfortable recliner. If you want high end furniture, she’ll out another $1,500 and you’ll probably get what you want. For me, this works and I’m happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Typical Chinese Quality
Color: Black
Be aware of you get what you pay for. I bought two chairs, and both had several scratches on the wood bases for both chair and ottoman. Another issue was the holes didn't line up at all where the chair back and seat bolt together. Took two of us to wrestle with it. Dont forget, Made in China. I knew this when I made the purchase. On the bright side, I did get them together and with a trip to Lowes, I was able to hide the scratches. I'm 6 foot and do just fine in it. ... show more

  • Not bad, not great
Color: Black
Just my opinion, but the chair does not feel heavy enough to suggest high quality construction. It does not recline enough, and the reclining mechanism is always locked in one position and does not allow for hands free reclining. After less than a year, many of the screws started coming out of the base and various other places. Seems like the metal is not holding the screws very well. It is now a rocking chair…very disappointed. I ended up buying a chair from a local store. The new one is much heavier and more solid than the one from Amazon. Yes, it did cost more, but I was able to touch it and sit in it before making a decision, which is severely lacking in an online economy. Would I buy this again? Maybe as a gift for someone. It looks really nice and it would be someone else's issue with the screws. For myself, No. I would not buy it again. I paid almost 3 times more for my new chair and there is no buyer's remorse. ... show more

  • Assembly & Chair structure
Color: Brown Vintage
We currently live in a 37 Ft. Motorhome, so we look for items that have dual use and easy to transport, without a lot of hassle. First I have to say the chair itself is made for people on the short side, I am 5'4 and it fits me perfectly, my husband however is 6'2 and its farther for him to sit (as in, if not paying attention you feel like you are going to fall) and the stool needs to be farther away to prop his feet to make it more comfortable. If you like to pull your legs up to sit sideways in the chair, this is not really big enough to do this easily, or maybe its just me.... anyway... Assembly can be done with 1 person ( i did it ) however it took a lot of pressure on the seat and top part of the chair to get the bolts in place and screwed together so it would not pop out. Direction are simplistic to the extreme, so if you are distracted, wait to put the chair together until a time in which you can focus. Plus's of the chair, the rollers under it to make it swivel in my opinion is the perfect pressure, so when traveling down the road in the RV there is no whipping back n forth. It has 2 settings for leaning back, which after adjusting to how the mechanics work is easy to do, no pinching of fingers or too startling when it moves back into the up right position. It cleans up nicely with water, beads up and does not soak in or allow stains. All in all a good buy, awesome for me, but back to the drawing board for the husband. ' ... show more

  • A reasonable chair.....
Color: Brown
But I didn't want or need the ottoman so it would have been better if I could have purchased just the chair.

  • This chair is okay, but not great. It does what it was designed to do.
Color: Black
Overall, this is adequate. One of the arm rests comes loose, quite often. I get good lumbar support, but I wish the chair, overall was more plush with regard to comfort. (meaning, it could have used more stuffing to make long-term sitting more comfortable)
