I have not been this satisfied with a purchase - ever. Considering that you can't try the mattress before you purchase it like you would in a brick and mortar store I must say that I was skeptical and never expected to be so thoroughly pleased. I've had this mattress for 20 days and honestly, I have not slept this well in years. I was long overdue for a new mattress but because of the way my 200 year old farmhouse is built, all furniture has to be hoisted up through a loft door in the kitchen ceiling and this requires several men. Not having that option I decided to try a self inflating mattress that I could haul up the narrow, twisting stairwell. The package arrived two days before I expected it and the box was in good shape and it was easy enough to guide up the stairwell despite being 50+ pounds. The box was long and relatively narrow so it slid up the stairs with ease. The instructions were very easy to follow. The inflating process is a two stage operation. I placed the mattress on my existing box spring and was surprised at how easy it was to handle by myself. First you remove the shrink wrap and the mattress begins to expand and then you open a small hole in the second plastic wrap and the final stage begins. From the time I brought this mattress in the house until the time I was ready to put the linens on it was maybe a total of 10 minutes. The auto inflation process was quite impressive. The mattress is quite attractive - so much so that I hated having to cover it with a mattress protector. The first night I slept so well and for the first time in years I did not spend the entire night tossing and turning. I was actually surprised that the bedding was hardly disturbed at all and with my old mattress everything would be pulled apart or on the floor after trying to rest all night. The second night I clearly remember thinking about how comfy the mattress was when I laid down on it to rest for the night. Well, it's been 20 nights and at long last I wake rested and refreshed for the first time in years. I recommend this mattress to anyone who is searching for a good mattress at a reasonable price. The packaging suggests that it may take several hours to a whole day for the mattress to completely inflate to it's full potential but from what I could see it fully inflated almost right away. This mattress can be placed on a platform or box spring. I think it would be described as a firm mattress and that is exactly what I wanted so I am doubly pleased with this wonderful mattress. I hadn't never bought a new mattress in the "Mattress in a box" era, so needles to say the concept sounded a little wonky. But it seems to be the standard format--especially when buying them online--so I just set aside my doubts and went with it. For those wondering, yep, it's actually rolled up in a box, and then inside a sealed bag or sleeve with another plastic sleeve over it. The box is long (the width of the mattress) and quite heavy. I'm a bachelor, so I had to drag it inside and to my bedroom alone, but I'd recommend a partner. Set up is simple, if not exactly easy. Take it out of the box, cut the outer sleeve, careful to not cut the second sleeve or the mattress, then roll it out. They say to do it on the ground, but I did it on my mattress foundation. Again, it's heavy and the tension in it will cause the mattress to sorta thrash about like a pre-historic fish when you cut that first sleeve, so be careful. Then you cut a corner of the second plastic sleeve and it will start to "inflate". Cut off the rest of the sleeve (this is a chore, as it's completely wrapped around the mattress) and within seconds mine looked ready to sleep on. I let mine sit for 30 or so hours before I slept on it, and I would recommend at least 24 for anyone. After night one I can say I'm impressed. It's soft and firm in equal measure. Comfortable overall. It looks like a quality product and it functions as one. Buying a product like this online, without the ability to test it for yourself is a gamble. But I'm pleased to say hat, at least so far, it's one that has paid off. ... show more

I normally do not write reviews (although I need to start considering how much I order via Amazon). However, I am one who pays very close attention to the reviews of others. I did a lot of researching and reading and comparing before deciding on this mattress. A mattress is a long-term investment. So, it is not something you want to get wrong. This one seemed like the best choice for a great budget mattress, hand's down! My mattress was delivered on August 19, 2020. I unboxed it the same day. I gave it a full 48 hours to decompress before I slept on it. August 22 was the first night I slept on it. Wow! Just WOW! That was the first night in a longggg time that I actually got a good night's rest. With my old mattress, my neck, back and legs would hurt terribly when I awoke the next morning. After my first night sleeping on this mattress, I noticed a considerable difference. It is now going on two weeks that I have been sleeping on this mattress. My back problems are gone! My neck problems are gone! I do not wake up in pain. I do not toss and turn all night long. I am sleeping my best life. I absolutely love the way the mattress contours to my body and supports it in all the right places. It is soft but not too soft. It is firm but not too firm. It is perfect to me. Regarding the chemical odor, there is one when you first unbox and unpack the mattress. However, after the first 48 hours I used allowing the mattress to decompress, the odor was gone.
