I mainly use it with a Benzomatic torch and it works very well, I like the fact that I don’t need to use the 1 lb cylinder anymore, so that makes the torch less heavy. I do pyro for a living. This bottle being so small and light is amazing for when we do hand light shoots! It is light weight but has plenty of fuel to do a decent job with a torch. It is so simple to refill this tank! All of my co-workers love it and said they will be getting them as well. I only have one, and regret not getting 2. Only reason being that they are so small and light that it would be nice to have one for backup just encase. But these things are amazing! Costing me pennies to refill and being so handy. Works great been using for a week now daily. It is used in the kitchen and for other recreational uses. I find so many uses for these small tanks. Only takes a minute to fill. The small same brand torch works phenomenally well. Also works great for sweating copper pipe in tight locations since it is very compact. Also quickly lights my Big Green Egg. No problem with the lighting mechanism I have found if you don't drop it then usually the piezoelectric starter will work indefinitely. Also for stability I took a big chunk of packing foam and my Sharp pocket knife and created this very stable stand because with the small 1/4 lb self refillable propane tank it was way too top heavy. ... show more

I didn't know anything like this existed until I was searching for safely refillable 1lb propane tanks for a small heater and stumbled across it. I need a torch at work occasionally but even with myself and a couple others using it, a single 1lb tank has lasted me a few years at this point and the tank often gets in the way of what I'm trying to do. I figure this tiny guy with a smaller torch head would be exactly what I need, and so far so good! Filling was pretty easy although I had to modify my adapter (Mr. Heater brand) because it had an alignment pin that didn't fully seat into the tank, and wouldn't let the gasket seal. I just trimmed the end of the pin and continued, no issues at all. I bought the little Bluefire self igniting torch head that someone else in the reviews posted a picture of, and I'm not completely happy with its performance (the adjustment knob is weird) but the size is perfect for this tank and I think the horizontal orientation will give me better access too. About to order a second one of these and try a different head for a fire pit torch at home. Added a picture to show size differences. ... show more

I currently own 3 of these little guys which I frequently use with two types of propane tools. By far the type I use most is (obviously?) the propane torch. In any job requiring a torch I've found these to be the ONLY way to go. Using any propane/MAPP torch head with these in just about every situation I've come across is far superior and gets into spaces that are impossible for a full size bottle. Camping/backing single burner stove: Less frequently used but still an amazingly improved area for these bottles are butane/propane backpacking stoves. Using a propane adapter and this tank is just far more useful when cooking a meal on any sort of situation where these stoves are used. Whip this out on an overnight backpacking trip with a group and it WILL TURN HEADS although serious backpackers will never wish to carry the extra weight unless dealing with some serious cold, enough to FREEZE Butan... but I digress. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONS: - The brass valve for filling is EASILY stripped out rendering the bottle effectively useless as FlameKing steaks the threads after installation to prevent the complete removal of the valve screw for some reason. The screw CAN be removed since it is tapped/threaded in the relatively soft alloy Brass. No replacement 'fill/bleed' valves are available. FlameKing states "Unfortunately we don't carry this part for liability reasons. Apologies for any inconvenience!" even though these can indeed be replaced safely and fairly easily. -The O-ring inside the connection has failed on one of my bottles. I'm not sure how this can be replaced! ... show more

I have a lot of sizes of tanks so when I saw this one I had to have it so bought two. It is very handy and works extremely well. Now that I have it i can't believe that a 1lb tank used to be my smallest. Got 2hrs 15 minutes out of a 1 mantle coleman lantern on a low but usable brightness setting. Also works great with torch heads. Haven't tried a high volume swirl torch yet but for a jumbo version of a pencil flame torch it works perfectly. The tank is non-ferrous and I think it could be aluminum which is a plus. Bottle is very sturdy and as a surprising weight to it. ... show more
