I’ve had a couple of issues. However, Simond Store has been very helpful in resolving my issues. My forge showed up with some rust. I contacted them and after talking back and forth about the rust, they offered to replace it. However, I decided to just sand and repaint it myself to save time. I fixed it and then applied the rigidizer. Not sure if I did something wrong but it was thin and didn’t go far enough. I ran out and still had about 25% uncoated. So again, I emailed Simond Store and asked for info on the rigidizer so I could order the same stuff. Just got an email this morning that they just shipped me another bottle. I simply asked for the info so I could order it. Their customer service so far has been excellent. Thanks Simond Store for being helpful. Once I use the forge, I’ll update. But it appears to be good quality and I don’t foresee running into more issues. ... show more

This forge is working out very well for me. I am brand new to smithing and this is my first forge. It was easy to set up, but be patient and wait for the refractory coating to dry. Heats metal up very quickly and can even over heat things if you don't pay attention. ( I melted a 1/2" piece of rebar by accident) The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I am having some gas flow issues with the back burner. It just doesn't quite put out the same heat. So far, this is a fantastic little forge. The fire brick in the picture is one that came with the forge, that is where the piece of rebar was that melted. ... show more

Was unhappy with current little forge and this one was a great replacement. Easy to setup. No directions for application of refractory element. Wasn't hard to figure out. Gets very hot fast

Great product. As described. Ordered this as a temporary replacement to my larger forge (currently getting a rebuild) easy set up and use. Packaging was damaged, bent pipe and broken fire bricks(not reflected 100% on the seller, more on shipping co) I have extra fire bricks and the pipe was straightened out without worry. This little forge is a beast and has been keeping my work flow moving. ... show more

    • Curing the refractory coating is quiite a prolonged process. This is not covered in the literature.
The forge unit was easy to assemble and seems well designed. The Refractory Coating provided was not enough to adequately coat the unit. I contacted Simond Store concerning this. They said they would provide a second supply of the Heatguard powder. This has never been received (after several weeks).
