I bought this because I have been to many seafood boils where there is a jet burner and it is so loud you cannot hold a conversation if you are standing nearby. Out of all the banjo burners I could find online, this had the highest PSI regulator hose, the most sturdy construction, four legs so I didn’t have to worry about tipping over, and an built in wind guard. I love that it can be used as both a gas cooker and a fire pit. I have only used it twice so far and both times I had the oxygen saturation on the highest setting to create a yellow flame. I placed a grill on top from my charcoal grill and was able to cook boudin and perfectly preheat chocolate on top of graham crackers while roasting marshmallows to make s’mores. I haven’t used it crawfish yet, but that is the next plan and when the regulator is turned way up it puts out a TON of heat and dispersed over a wide area and not a single point like a jet burner. I love it! The only drawback is that it’s big and doesn’t break down, so you’ll need a place to store it, plus it weighs close to 20 lbs. 11/3/2022 Update: Since writing this review I've used it as pot boiler for a couple crawfish boils. I didn't time it, but it felt like this brought an 80 gallon pot of water to a boil in half the time a jet burner would take. I received many compliments on both how quickly it heats and its quiet operation. Still loving it. The only thing I would like to see improved is the propane connection. I have to use a wrench to tighten the brass nut to the burner. It's a minor inconvenience, but something that could be hand-turned would make this perfect. ... show more

I liked the first one I got from Amazon last year so much that I just purchased another one. I'm going to use both for boiling down maple sap. Nice and simple. Built sturdy. Works just fine. The size and power of this is good for large boils, the seating of the burner makes it difficult to use with smaller pots, and we needed to buy a larger pot to accommodate the burner. Water/oil boils very rapidly.

I've used this to boil water, the vessel was 18" diameter with 12" sides, so lots of water. Brings it to a boil very quickly. a few notes - it's heavy, it's hollow steel but boxed and welded. so good quality. at full output, it will eat a 20lb propane tank in a couple hours. LP tanks can only output so many BTU's per hour, typically 30,000-40,000 and maintain the same pressure flow. if you put this up to 200k BTU it will work, for maybe 1-2 hours before it drops the BTU as the tank tries to catch-up. Bigger tank, more BTU's. or lower the flame. ... show more
