Tested against Flute amp, volt, and ohm meters, and found this meter to be very accurate. I bought this meter because I wanted a clamp on DC amp meter. The only think I dislike is the way the alligator clips on the Leeds. I am used to Simpson and Fluke Leeds.

The leads for the temp probe were tight when plugged into meter , then the test lead probes were loose. Still works but not sure how long. The display back lite only stays on for about 12-15 seconds. Have to keep pushing lite button. The meter itself works great . It is accurate . I like the ac/dc amp meter. I use the dc amp meter every day for rv use. I would recommend it others. ... show more

Ive been an electronics technician for 30 years, and used a lot of different multimeters. This meter is a good basic handheld unit. The casing is fairly rugged, it has a very bright backlight which is nice, includes case and other accessories, and the meter provides accurate measurements to within about +/- .05 UOM, when compared with my UNI-T benchtop DMM. One function that is a little different from other meters is that to change between DC and AC, you press the "select" button. My one complaint is that the profile of the test lead banana plugs is pretty tall, such that you cannot close the case with them plugged in. Maybe some users do, but I definitely do not unplug my probes when putting my meter away. A lower profile elbow on the banana plugs would solve this problem. ... show more

Great item. So easy to use. Nice display easy to read. This is really dummy proof. Its actually quite sturdy too. It fell out of my pouch twice in the first day and no damage to it at all. Only fell about 3 feet but still. I like it a lot. I lent it to an electrician buddy of mine and he liked it too said its a great tool and was amazed at all the features it had for the low cost. This multimeter is okay. It did not come with the gator clips or batteries as pictured so I’m a little disappointed. The mode select is slow and annoying, I’d honestly rather have just the twist dial version.

If what you're looking for is a basic clamp-type multimeter, this will do the job. If you're looking for a professional tool to use in your business as an electrician or handyman, this definitely is NOT that tool. But if all you need is a basic clamp-type meter for AC current, or a very basic multimeter for checking AC & DC circuits, it will get the job done. That said, I wouldn't call this especially well-made. The plugs are a bit loose, and the non-contact voltage sensor was iffy when I used it -- it would not always pick up voltage reliably, depending on exactly how it was held (angle, position, etc). All in all, for a sub-$40 meter this gets the job done, and if it isn't perfect or doesn't last long term, it's not the end of the world. Don't think you're getting a discount Fluke or high-end meter with this, however, as you are not. ... show more
