This product should be furnished with every 'pneumatic' chair sold. I have fought with my 'pneumatic' chair from the first day I brought it home. Because the mechanism of the chair is chrome plated it was not something that could be welded easily to a fixed height. Turns out you can't buy a chair with a locking mechanism to force the chair to stay at a fixed height any more - at least none of the stores I checked had even one. I love the chair now that it is at a fixed height. No more jerking as the chair slowly lost air from a leaky seal. Incidentally, my chair doesn't have a manufacturers label on it nor an instruction on it to help use the adjustment mechanism. The hydraulic cylinder on my office chair began to give out months ago and I literally had stand up, raise the chair back up several times an hour. I was literally about to spend hundreds on a new chair and came across this. I literally just got it and installed it in just a couple minutes. No sinking whatsoever. Don't waste time and money with other solutions like a hose clamp or PVC pipe. Just get this Spidefee Fix for less than the cost of a sandwich and get back to work at your desk without having to spend hundred of dollars for a new chair. I was skeptical but IT WORKS!

Does what it's intended to do. I'm 6'4"/300lbs and office chairs have a tendency to sink over time. This device keeps the chair up at the top setting where I need it. The only issue (not really an issue for me but some folks may care) - there is a trim cover that goes over the piston assembly - it will not fit with this device in place. Oh, I can't because there's a piece of metal in the hole where the screw is supposed to go. Unfortunately, one of the clamps didn't make it through all the steps at the factory - metal in the screw receptacle didn't get punched out. Tried to do it myself, to no avail. The clamps, screws, and Allen wrench are all very nice quality and I look forward to receiving my replacement and hopefully changing this rating... ... show more

    • Fixed my $2700 chair for $12

Awesome. Fixed my sinking Herman Miller Eames aluminum group management desk chair ($2700+) with this little gadget. This chair uses a non-standard pneumatic lift cylinder (40mm at the bottom instead of 50mm) that is expensive and hard to find. Instead of replacing the cylinder, this solution was cheap, looks classy unlike hose clamp solutions from big box hardware stores, and was shipped to my door. I recommend using Loctite blue Thread Locker on the bolt threads and cranking down as hard as you can with the included hex wrench. Hasn't budged at all using this method. ... show more
