Yes, they stink. They need to be aired out outside and wiped down with soapy water multiple times, then placed in their spot with a fan facing them with an open window for another few days. But other than that they are great. It’s the best value and it comes with a stand to keep organized. I think it’s worth the inconvenience of the odor.

This is a great set of weights. The only complaint I have is that it stinks !!! I've had this set up for the last three days and it has made the whole bedroom and hallway smell. Update: I let the weights and the stand sit out in the sun for two days. Before bringing them in I wiped them down with warm water and white vinager. Google said that would help the smell. I brought them all back to the room they were in. It still stinks bad! The smell stays in my nose/mouth. They will be moved to the garage or some other place where no one sleeps. The smell is so nasty and strong it almost makes me sick to my stomach.

Of the 3 sets (Cap, Amazon, Fitvids) I bought these are the most accurate (within an ounce) and, like the others, have a decent fit and finish. One had some bubbling on the plastic but nothing that would effect performance. Yes they smell like a tire factory but are fine for my garage gym. I don't think I would want them if I was a bougie basement gym owner though. Overall, for a 1$/lbs or less these are good to great dumbbells.
