So far so good. I really like the simplicity of the mechanics on this one. I had another one that had a flimsy frame around the mechanism, you can guess what happened to that one: the handle bent and the mechanism got glitchy. This now one was the best I’ve used so far. I was able to lift up a 30 degree leaning pine tree about 20” diameter and 20’ long trunk back up and tilt it down to 30 degrees to the other side of the foreign property where it belongs. Lol. Could have rented a chain saw but I wanted to have some fun instead. It’s rated for 2 tons operational but I suspect it’s failing limit is much higher. For the price - it’s great.

The operation of this cable come a long is very good. What gives me a little trouble is the cable always spins into a mess with no tention on it. The cable is strong but has a springy memory . I've had cables that are dead and jutst sit there as you reset your pull. I like that better. I'll buy it again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Cost and ability. Cost was great. Did the job. 2 screws were not installed on the cable guard. Was a simple install. Delivered on time. Box was a little damaged, but product was intact. Have no complaints. Very well designed. Be aware the cable length. Would recommend.

This come a long is bare bones stripped down. Not even a rubber grip for handle. Mine the cable was jammed in mechanism and I just walked away. It doesn't deserve 1 star. Too light to use as a boat anchor. Useless.

I was not expecting that there would be so short a cable on the winch. Build seems decent and mechanism is smooth. I can see using it more as a lift hoist as the cable is annoyingly short for winching. The other thing is that the racheting mechanism is on one side so I would be afraid of it spreading apart under load. The more I looked at it I wanted to send it back but didn't get around to it. I will use it in place of a chain winch when I need to adjust things. For this it will be better than dealing with a loop of chain dangling in my work.

I like this winch. It is well made, simple to use, smooth action. Right now I an using it to pull a tree away from my house. I will increase tension over a period of time to train the tree to grow vertically. When I’m done with the tree I will keep it in my truck for a recovery winch. Reviewers have noted that there is only 3 feet of travel. But that’s also less cable to bind, twist and swear at. These folks got it here two days earlier than they estimated. 5 stars.

Worked well to pull my 2,000 lb. tractor out of the mud. Make sure you disengage both palls when you pull the line out, or you may get hit with the rotating handle. Just ask me how I know:)
