  • Great repair kit to have
Color: Inserts-Kit
This kit comes in handy! Worked like a charm to fix a fly rod.

  • Great kit fixed my broken rod
Color: Inserts-Kit
This kit gave me everything I needed to fix my fishing rod. It was broken towards the tip and I was afraid none of the parts would fit but it did and once the resin cured, my rod was like new. Hopefully I won’t need it again but if I do, I’m confident it will work again.

  • Decent repair kit! Saved my Lews rod
Color: Inserts-Kit
This is a pretty decent repair kit, I had a broken 7'2" Lews Medium Heavy fast action baitcaster rod that broke just about 8 inches from the tip and thought it was doomed to be thrown away, or just make do with the break and just put a new rod tip while being shorter. Thankfully with this kit I was able to save the rod completely! It's been just over a month since I did the repair, and I've caught plenty of fish to comfortably say that if repaired correctly, this kit will bring life back to your broken rod. The biggest downside of this kit is the 2 part epoxy which takes a full 24 hours if not more to fully cure after application. In my case what I did was find the correct insert from the kit, apply the epoxy directly to the insert, make sure you glob that stuff on, don't be shy. Then stuff it in the rod and place back the rod tip, sandwiching the insert in the middle. Again, make sure you put a generous amount of epoxy on as you don't want any dry spots. As you place the tip back, make sure you align the rod correctly from where it broke (otherwise the rod eyes won't line up), excess epoxy will squeeze out and make sure you clean this. A great way to keep everything in place is using painters tape, this will allow the repair to stay in the orientation you want it to as you wait the 24 hours for it to cure. The following day take the painters tape off (there will be some bits that are stuck to the rod but that doesn't matter), sand a centimeter either side of where the break occurs (this will remove the stuck painters tape), apply the thread tightly wounded and apply more epoxy.. Again wait another 24 hours. After this final step I chose to wait an ADDITIONAL day to make sure everything was set, and boy wouldn't you know I hooked into a 2lb large mouth bass flipping it onto the bank with no issues / breakage! All in all, this is a decent repair kit that can really save your rods. Easy to use, but time consuming with all the curing. ... show more

  • Good kit, but the epoxy in it takes a long time to set!
Color: Inserts-Kit
The kit seemed like a really great deal and came with all that is needed to repair your rods. The only problem I had with it is the length of time the epoxy takes to harden. The directions in the kit did not have any guidance on set or cure time. I mixed the product 1:1 as directed, let it set 3-5 minutes, per the directions and then applied to a rod line guide I had just installed. I kept the rod rotating for about 6 or 7 minutes after which time I expected the epoxy to be set hard enough to stop rotating the rod. I found out that was not near enough time. Anyway, as I'm a novice at this, I don't know if this is usual or not, I suspect not. I do, however, know that most of the two-part epoxies I've used, do not take anywhere near this long to set up. Anyway, I gave the kit 3 stars based on this and a lack of detailed information on the set and cure time for the epoxy. As for the rest of the kit, I'm satisfied with it. ... show more

  • Great repair kit
Color: Inserts-Kit
Just what I needed at a great price. Just remember don't rush the job. You need a full 24hrs for the epoxy to set. Take your time a mix it well. Can't even tell my rod was repaired.
