The rod is solid enough for beginners. With 10 to 20lb line, it fulfills most of the lake or river fishing needs. The wheel is smooth. The rod is very light weighted and short after folding. Very convenient for carrying out for family fun.

The package arrived 3 days late, but that might not be their fault. The rod and reel are fine, although the plastic cap came dirty and stained. The plastic box for the hooks came broken, so the hooks broke the bag the reel came in. Also messed up the big bag as well. I'll update based on the rod's performance, but for now I am disappointed ... show more
