Combine with Eddison bulbs for full effect. You can cut chain links to adjust the height as needed (cutter not included) (which I did). I ordered 2 of these and they make the room look great. Assembly is straight forward, just need to know to unscrew the screws in the 4 vertical bars to make them longer on both ends to assemble, the screws are not at the right length when you get them. As per norm on all light fixtures these days, the bracket that goes on the ceiling is the newer style where the light is held to the bracket with side screws instead of vertical ones so if replacing an older light you will have to swap the mounting bracket instead of being able to reuse the one already installed. I put this light fixture together in about 10 minutes. It would have taken less time had there been written instructions. It only had a diagram to follow, and it took me a minute to realize that the screws had to be removed from the bars and inserted into the screw heads. It is made of a good study metal, has 4 receptacles that can hold up to 60 watt bulbs for super brightness if you need it. I only have 2 bulbs in it and it lights up my laundry room very well. It is a decent price for a pretty and functional fixture that could be used in a variety of areas. The fixture is a medium size with plenty of chain and long wiring harness that you can adjust to the length you need. It looks much better and lights up my laundry room much better than my old fixture. Very pleased with the quality and functionality. ... show more

When the box arrived I was confused, thinking there is no way that large light was in that box. Then I opened and realized, some assembly required? Nope, all assembly required. What came out was a collection of parts that eventually became a very solid, very nice looking pendant light. I'm really pleased with it, and won't ding it a star just because I had to put it together. I'm only including that as a caution to anyone not blessed with mechanical ability. ... show more

I have not installed this light yet. I was going to use it in my kitchen (with my bathroom as an alternative location) if it didn’t work for the kitchen space. After assembly, it’s not exactly what I want for my kitchen - but the bathroom is humid. After assembly - the light fixture is of decent quality for the price. It is perhaps one step below home depot lights - which are priced higher. Finished product cons: 1) It can’t be used in a humid area of the home or outdoors. 2) The top of the light is not capped - looking unfinished. (See pictures) It will need to be periodically wiped out for dead flies and dust. I prefer to Swiffer the tops of my lights. 3) I was very careful during initial assembly - but the finish was chipped during the process. I only used my fingers for assembly, prior to the chip happening. ASSEMBLY: Was frustrating - due to lack of detail on the diagram. It took me an hour - but it should have only taken 15 minutes. In the end it felt a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. I followed the instructions and diagram faithfully. When the light wouldn’t assemble I took it apart - then used trial and error to assemble the light. - There are 2 lengths of screws - There are 2 sizes of caps - One of the screw holes (at the top) was larger: I assume intentionally. It needed to be the final screw in that section. - My lamp assembled easier starting at the top, not the bottom like the instructions suggested. ... show more

    • Very nice farmhouse style light fixture
I have been looking for a light to replace our ugly builder grade (or worse) lights. Our ceilings are sloped so it has to be a flush mount or one that hangs freely. Some hanging ones hang by a non-adjustable rod and that won't work. I also wanted a farmhouse looking one to match the decor. PLUS, no glass to remove in order to change light bulbs. That is too much of a pain. I saw many I liked, but none were quite right. This one popped up on an unrelated page I was on and it seemed to check all of the boxes. The matte metal finish goes with other lights, curtain rods, and ceiling fans seamlessly. It takes 4 bulbs which is more than a lot of the ones I'd seen. It says 60W max but I'll probably put 4 dimmable LED Edison bulbs so that limitation doesn't count and they can be even brighter if we choose. The installation went smoothly. What took the longest was trying to decide how far we wanted it to hang down. It looks fabulous. ... show more

Assembly is simple. Materials are good quality. Mounting is very easy if you’ve ever done fixtures or ceiling fans before, and not complicated for a first-time DIYer either. A good size with long chain and cord, easy to double up or trim back to whatever length you need. Looks very nice. On mine, one of the frame posts was missing an end screw critical for holding the top and bottom frame rings together. Turned out it had fallen inside the post itself and was impossible to re-slot due to the threaded hole. A quick dremel job later and I opened a slot in the inside part of the post to pull the screw out and thread it back through the end hole — you can’t even see the slot in the back and I didn’t have to deal with returns or finding, cutting, and refitting a replacement screw from the hardware store.
