    • Bought as a back up.
I bought this pin pointer as a back up and to take on vacation for a beach hunt. It has become my primary pin pointer. It took a little getting use to and until I figured it out, it caused interference with my Equinox 800. I have used the orange one for years and can tell you this seems to pick up much deeper. I plan to purchase another. No issue so far and it gets a lot of use. ... show more

Overall, this item works perfectly. The only weird thing i do want to mention is that in salt and mineralized sand it does activate once in a while when you tap the end on the sand, giving you a false signal. Otherwise, I am completely satisfied with this item, and it seems that, if you turn it on and then turn it off right after use, the battery last a good amount of time. I’ve noticed that on a mine lab equinox as long as you keep this 12 inches or more away from the coil it’s not making your detector chirp which is super nice for me when using headphones on your detector. ... show more

    • Software Defect?
I have order 2 of these - one from eBay and one from Amazon....they are actually 94 units apart in serial number and BOTH have same "defect". There are supposed to be 20 LED brightness settings....with on/off being the only ones working. There are supposed to be 9 detection indicators. 3 settings of vibration alert....3 settings of vibration/audio alert...and 3 settings of AUDIO ONLY alert. The "Audio Only" alert settings do NOT work. During adjustment settings it just return wraps to the 6 settings mentioned as working, while not to include the 3 audio only settings....so round and round....never to include the 3 audio only settings. It is IMPOSSIBLE that I am not setting it up correctly as all 9 adjustments are to be included with that particular menu area by software design. *I purchased Amazon 2nd to hopefully be a different batch than eBay (1st) but serial numbers so close - possibly same seller. Being 94 units apart with same issues - there will be many defective pinpointers possibly. Called Fisher (maker) and earliest possible repair is mid part of June because of chip shortage.....doesn't seem like Fisher is being all that honest - as it appears to be just software problem anyway. I will just return mine here with 30 day return window. ... show more

    • Hands down my favorite pinpointer!
I usually don’t go this in depth with Amazon reviews, but I love this pinponiter and wanted to share my experience. Ergonomics: The F-pulse feels great in the hand. It has a natural shape and is easy to operate even with thick gloves on. The button is also easier to reliably press than other units. It has a positive click to it which is great. On my Garrett units, the battery compartment is a plastic screw cap which I often felt the need to re-check to prevent leaks. I don’t have to do that with the F-pulse because it’s impossible to accidentally open it! The color is bright and easy to find in the water and tall grass without being obnoxious. The texturized grip works great in slippery conditions. Finally, someone thought to do this! Reliability: This is a new unit from Fisher, so there hasn’t been enough time to do a long-term reliability test. I will however say that I have never experienced a single lock-up or freeze with the F-Pulse. With my carrot and original pointer would false if you pressed too hard into the soil. The plastic also appears to be much stronger on the F-pulse than any other pinpointer i’ve had since it does not scratch easily. Functionality: You don’t have to take my word that this is a deep probe. Look it up on Youtube for yourself. The claims are certainly true from my experience. I’m glad Fisher went with AA’s as it is easy to find AA rechargeable cells unlike 9volts. Again, I have to mention just how good this button is. If you want it on, it’s on. If you want to change the mode, it’s easy to do so intentionally. That alone is enough for me to make this my primary pinpointer. Bye Garrett! ... show more
