  • Starts oak easily
Size: 70 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
I have oak and a solo stove, these easily last long enough to get the fire going.

  • Excellent little fire starters made of wood ribbons and wax, ~10-13 minute burn time
Size: 120 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
This is a really nice set of fire starters made of wood ribbons covered in wax. They're cylinders, each about 2.5 inches long and 1 inch wide, and they're perfect for starting a small fire, or for starting a larger fire if you have some medium wood that can help larger pieces catch or you use a couple of them. You can technically light these with a spark but it's not easy, you really need a way to actually bring flame to them; I wouldn't advise using these as your only fire-starter if you don't have some tinder, a lighter, or some matches to actually catch fire and burn briefly to get the flame onto these. These light easily, because the wood ribbons are pretty thin and small but they're long and they're wrapped into the cylinder a couple times over. I've never had a failed burn after actually lighting one. They're wind-resistant but not wind-proof, so you still need to make sure you can actually light them up, because the wax has to catch fire so it can light the wood it's coating. They burn for about 10 to 13 minutes, and most of mine have burnt around 12 minutes but it really depends how much air flow they get - more air flow means they burn hotter but faster. Regardless, they always light consistently, and I do always get at least 10 minutes of burn time out of them. For some logs you might need more than just one of the fire starters, but if you're burning charcoal for example, you shouldn't need more than one as long as it isn't wet or far too old. I'm going to keep using these until I'm all out, and I expect they'll work perfectly the whole time. I'll update this review if I have any issues with them that pop up down the line. I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected. ... show more

  • Excellent Fire Starter
Size: 50 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
We have tried all different kinds of fire starters in our wood burning stove as well as our outdoor fire pit. I must say I am extremely impresed with these. They light quickly and the burn time is at least 10 minutes. As long as you have some smaller wood near the flame, this should get your fire going in no time. I have only needed one to get my fire started so far. If you have a lot of wind, it may take more than one. They are a bit pricier than what we normally purchase, but they also work better. As we know, you typically get what you pay for. I also enjoy that they are made from natural ingredients for the cleanest possible burn. They also don't give off any strange odors as other fire starters do. Overall I am pleased with these fire starters and they work great in our wood burning stove. ... show more

  • Makes lighting the fire easier and faster...
Size: 50 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
We have a new copper fire pit. It works great...once the fire is started. Newspaper and kindling work as a fire starter but we haven't had a newspaper since they went digital and prolific online outlets became available. Enter the descriptively named Fire Starter - 50PCS Fire Starters for Fireplace, Campfires, Grill, Wood & Pellet Stove, Chimney... This stuff does simplify the fire-starting process. It lights readily and has enough heat to quickly turn firewood ablaze. My wife placed the fire starter in the middle of the grated pit, covered with a bit of kindling and then split wood from a downed maple. She lit the fire starter and within a couple of minutes had a satisfying, roaring blaze. She liked this fire starter so much she even let me light a fire. We'll continue to use this stuff. It just works. ... show more

  • Fire starter that can be broken up and used multiple times
Size: 50 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
These are fairly typical wax embedded twists of wood and strands for fire starting and they're very convenient. When lit they last for a few minutes if left whole. First they light very easily since it's basically pure fuel. Secondly they can be torn into many pieces if you only need a small fire starter for dry wood or a bigger one for less cooperative would. Thirdly they are waterproof being soaked in wax. They are small enough that you can put two or three of them in your day bag when you're camping and are not dangerous by themselves when compared to other fuel options. If you're looking for a simple fire starter that's easy to work with these are your ticket. I would buy again ... show more

  • Fire is good!
Size: 50 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
I have now used these “tumbleweed” fire starters in my Weber kettle grill, in the fire box of my Ooni Karu, and in a chimney starter. I mostly use lump charcoal, so I really only had two requirements. The first is that these starters catch quickly. This was not a problem with Scripto lighter and even easier with a small butane kitchen torch. The second concern was that the fire starter burn hot enough and long enough for the charcoal to catch. In the small fire box of the pizza oven these are particularly important since there is not a lot of room to maneuver from the outside of the pizza oven. It is also nice that the fire burns clean, but I am generally letting the coals burn long enough to turn red, so any dirty smoke is not an issue by the time that I introduce food to the fire. Lastly, I am pretty happy with the number of starters in the box which should last me quite some time. ... show more
