  • Works great
Size: 70 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
The only reason it's getting 4 stars is because it was shipped in a bag, so the box it came in was smashed and all the pieces were all over the place. But the product works great, lights immediately and does the job I needed it to.

  • Excellent little fire starters made of wood ribbons and wax, 10-13 minute burn time
This is a really nice set of fire starters made of wood ribbons covered in wax. They're about 2.5 inches long and 1 inch wide cylinders, and they're perfect for starting a small fire, or for starting a larger fire if you have some medium wood that can help larger pieces catch. You can technically light these with a spark but not easily, you really need a way to actually bring flame to them; I wouldn't advise using these as your only fire-starter if you don't have a lighter, matches, or some tinder to actually catch fire and burn briefly to get the flame onto these. These light pretty easily, because the wood ribbons are pretty thin and small but they're long and they're wrapped into the cylinder a couple times over. I've never had a failed burn after lighting one. They're wind-resistant but not wind-proof, you still need to make sure you can actually light them up, because the wax has to catch fire so it can light the wood it's coating. These burn for about 10 to 13 minutes, most of mine have burnt around 12 minutes but it really depends how much air flow they get - more air flow means they burn hotter but faster. Regardless, they've always light consistently, and I do always get at least 10 minutes of burn time out of them. For some logs you might need more than just one fire starter, but if you're burning charcoal for example, you shouldn't need more than one as long as it isn't wet or far too old. I'm going to keep using these until I'm all out, and I expect they'll work perfectly the whole time. I'll update this review if I have any issues with them that pop up down the line. I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected. ... show more

  • Makes Starting Grill Easier
Size: 70 Pcs (1" * 2.56")
I got rid of my propane grill and got a new charcoal grill. That meant I had to buy additional items to get started such as a chimney starter. I actually like my chimney starter. I usually ball up some junk mail and put it under the starter to light the charcoal. And sometimes, I may have to grab additional paper to get the coals well lit. However, these starters are much more efficient. I do a lot of grilling and tend to run out of paper quickly. But these are quite convenient. All I have to do is grab one, light it on both ends, then set the starter on top of it. In about 15-20 minutes, I have a stack of charcoal ready to cook with. They produce less ash than paper. And they're also convenient for those windy days when the grill just doesn't want to stay lit. I can place 2 or 3 of these under the coals, light them, and the grill comes back up to temp. These are the first fire starters I ever got. But I'll definitely buy them again since I haven't had any issues at all. With that said, I can't comment on the price. But for peace of mind and simplicity, they're great. ... show more
