5 stars First let me say I am a HUGE Daniel fan, he won my heart in Losing Hope and I was beyond excited when I heard Colleen Hoover was going to give us his own story. Finding Cinderella was perfect, loved the connection between Daniel and Six and the instant rapport they have from the first moment they met :) As it's a novella I won't go into too much detail about the actual storyline as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I will say all the characters and I mean all the characters will touch your heart in some way. Even Val added to the storyline, god I love the name Daniel christened her with, just so fitting lol OMG Daniel's family, they are fantastic. Once you meet them you can see where Daniel gets his personality from, they had me laughing and thinking I like the way they parent, maybe I should try that with my daughters :D And lastly Six, not sure I can find the words to describe how much I loved that girl. She puts up such a front that people think she doesn't care what's being said about her, she's her own biggest critic but seeing her with Daniel and watching her with him experiencing things she's never experience before like her first date or her first hand holding gahhh it was beautiful to experience that with her, them. Seriously I could go on and on, there were so many moments that touched me. The bromance between Holder and Daniel is as strong as ever and we get to see just how much they love and respect each other. The scene towards the end when Daniel needs Holder was so well written, loved it. My only complaint with Finding Cinderella is that it ended too quickly for me, I just wanted more and more :D Having said that the ending left me with a happy and contented heart :) If you enjoyed Daniel and Six from the Hopeless series Finding Cinderella is a must read. Thank you Colleen Hoover for giving us Daniels and Six's story, loved every word and I will be reading it again. Looking forward to reading more of your beautiful words in the near future <3

Who knew Hoover could capture your heart again in a novella?

Daniel is totally endearing. You just cannot help but like him. And then there's six. We met her in Hopeless. We didn't get to see a lot of her because she goes off to Italy for school. But what we do see shows what a loyal friend she is. And it's no surprise that she's funny. The best part is her sarcastic sense of humor. Throw these two together and the chemistry, oh gosh, it's popping off the page. I can't really get into the story past the fact that they form a bond and start a relationship. Because the rest is huge. Leave it to Hoover to throw in a huge plot twist that tears the main couple apart. Yup, it's what she does best. She rips your heart right out of your chest. But it's ok because she knows what she's doing. She knows how to keep you there and make you want to get to the end to see if things work out. This novella is so well written it reads like a full length book. When it was done I wanted it to be a full length book, I truly did. I hated that it was over and I wouldn't get anymore of these characters. My heart missed them and it still does. It has a complete story arc with rich characters who develop fantastically. And I love that we see Holder and Sky, as well. You couldn't have Daniel's story without them for sure! As with all Hoover books, this one left me wanting more Hoover. I really don't are how I get it, just give me more! Fans of Hoover will no doubt fall in love with this fantastic story.

A Quick, Nice Romance

As a novella, I’m using Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover as a sneak peek into her books. Since I’ve heard good reviews regarding her works, I was curious to finally read one of her books. After finishing this novella, I can’t say for sure whether I agreed or disagreed with the majority. I enjoyed the book in general. I thought the story was nicely written. There was a good balance between the romance, humor and drama. It had a good quick pace without feeling hurried considering the length of the book. I thought Hoover did a good job packing a well rounded romance in a short span. The best part of the book would have to be Daniel. He definitely stole the show for me. His counterpart, Six, described him as being “charismatic” and I would have to absolutely agree with her. He had this buoyant, energetic personality that quickly draws you in. The fact that his charisma carries a crude and oftentimes inappropriate tone doesn’t deter you. I would go so far as to say it’s very endearing because you don’t sense it coming from a mean place. You understand it’s just his natural persona and there’s nothing fake about him. This aspect of him is what makes him very likeable. And he shines when he’s in the presence of others whether it’s Six, Holden or his parents (my favorite scenes are with his parents when they give dish it out to him - so funny) where the interactions are entertaining and clever. Maybe it’s my cynical nature that made me question certain aspects of the plot (i.e. the way the main couple met and what inevitably happened, the length of time it took for Daniel to have his epiphany) and it affected my view on the book. It carried a sense of incredulity on my part and kept me a little aloof on what was going on. It also didn’t help that Daniel bordered on overdramatic and cheesy when he ruminates on his feelings for Six. Again, like I mentioned earlier this may stem from my cynicism, so take what I just said with a grain of salt. As a whole it Finding Cinderella was a good novella, whether you are fan of Hopeless or Losing Hope (I have yet to read either one) or if you are looking for a quick read to preoccupy you. I can see why so many others rave about Hoover’s books. Now, while I cannot say for sure that I am one of them after finishing this book, it did keep me open to reading more from her and seeing where I stand either way.

Wow

I love this book? I thought the title was a little cheesy at first but it made perfect sense once I got into it. I wasn't sure what made me read it but I don't think it was promoted as a YA book. I'm so glad. When I first started I almost stopped as I immediately realized Daniel was a senior in high school. Within the first two pages I was hooked. I couldn't put it down. I loved Daniel the minute he realized that Val didn't actually like who he was and that he wasn't go to change. He was who he was. There are very few books that affect me so deeply and this one did. I laughed, I cried, but most importantly, I felt. I laughed so hard at times that I literally had to put my hand over my mouth so I didn't wake up my husband. The author did an amazing job with these characters. The humor, the understanding, the connection, the love. I read so many books and a lot of times I roll my eyes at some of the story lines and think to myself that we can only wish true love was like that. This is one of the "very" few books that actually made me stop and realize that love like Daniel and Six's isn't make believe. It's real and I have felt this. It actually shocked me. Their personalities, their sense of humor, their relationship with each other, with their friends, even Daniel's parents, were very real. Very real. I also loved that it was told from Daniel's perspective. It was different and the author did an excellent job of conveying what goes through some young men's minds. Daniel reminds me so much of my eldest son as well as my husband. And I couldn't believe how much my husband and I are so similar to Daniel's parents. I wish the author had elaborated more as to how Six and Sky became best friends. I wasn't sure if they had been friends from childhood, since high school or since Six came back from Italy. I may have just missed that though. I also thought that Daniel and Six may have recognized each other faster than they did but to be honest it really didn't make much of a difference. I got so caught up in their story, who cares. I gave it five stars as it made me feel so many different emotions and that's unusual for me. Well worth the read IMHO. :) Excellent job Ms. Hoover and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Sweet, Funny and Unexpectedly Emotional

Finding Cinderella is a short but heartfelt novella that adds a charming layer to the Hopeless universe. Daniel and Six have an instant chemistry that’s hilarious, sarcastic, and surprisingly tender. Colleen Hoover packs a lot of emotion into a small package, blending humor and heartache in a way that keeps you hooked. While the story is fast-paced and sometimes leans on coincidence, the emotional depth and character banter more than make up for it. It’s a quick read with powerful moments that will stick with you, especially if you’re already invested in the characters from Hopeless and Losing Hope.

A Perfect Novella!!!

I've been waiting on Finding Cinderella for a while now. I loved Hopeless and really enjoyed Losing Hope so I couldn't wait to delve back into this world and see my old friends again. First of all I just want to say how amazing this novella is. Smaller stories are always so much harder to write well. Sometimes there's just not enough pages or enough going on for readers to connect with the characters like they can in a full length novel. Obviously that is not the case here, not only was I able to connect with Six and Daniel I was also very surprised that I was so invested in their story that I no longer cared that the story wasn't about Sky and Holder. Six and Daniel were just so engaging but of course Sky and Holder both make appearances which was just icing on the cake which already had really good icing. During Hopeless I never really gave it much thought when Daniel was talking to Holder about the girl he met in the close at school. It just never really registered with me until this story. Daniel was seeing that crazy mean girl (Was it Vicky? I'm not sure) and I never even suspected that the girl that he was with could have been Six but it makes so much sense. Daniel had so much more depth to him in Finding Cinderella than he did in Hopeless. With him being one of the two main characters you really get a good idea of who he truly is on the inside and he was so perfect for Six. Six is literally looking for the exact same thing that Daniel has always been looking for and when they met in a dark closet and pretended to be in love it was so very sweet and even more so when they met each other again and fell in love for real. Of course there's a bit of sadness too but just like with Hopeless Colleen Hoover handles it so well that it makes you care for both characters even more. There's nothing cliché about Six or Daniel, they're not your stereotypical teenagers and this isn't your stereotypical romance, they're not perfect which is why they're so very perfect for each other. I loved both of their sense of humor, I enjoyed Daniels parents quite a bit and also really liked how much Six hand changed. There's just so much going on in such a small book. It never really felt like a Novella to me, more like a quick novel : ) By the end of the novella I cared for them both just as much as I did Sky and Holder and it was so nice seeing where Sky and Holder are at now and how they are doing. I think I have to agree with Colleen Hoover about her publishers telling her she was nuts for giving this one away for free because I definitely would have paid for this book although I'm glad she did release it for free. It was a very fun and nice present to all of her fans and I for one really appreciate it. I haven't read all of her books yet which is something I plan to remedy soon. She's just such a great writer and she knows how to pull your emotions in twenty different directions. Her romance scenes are SUPER romantic: remember Holder and Sky's first non-kiss kiss? Her sad scenes require a bucket for all the tears: the revelation at the end of Hopeless and her fun scenes will have you smiling and laughing out loud like when Daniel and Six make their big escape from Six's house that first time. All in all pretty much a perfect Novella that stands on it's own just fine. I originally wanted to read it because I was hoping for more Sky and Holder but came away appreciating it for what it was: Daniel and Six's story. Do yourself a favor and grab this awesome gift from Colleen Hoover, you'll be glad that you did!

There Aren't Enough Stars For What This Deserves!!

Stop whatever you are reading or doing right now, and go get this book. I implore you! You want to read it, no, you NEED to read it. I am having a hard time forming my many thoughts into words to convey just how FANTASTIC this book was! The emotions that she conveys in so little pages are nothing short of brilliant. I know I shouldn't expect anything less from Colleen, but every time I read her newest book and I think it can't get better than this......it does. I actually feel bad for the books I read next, because the bar has been raised HIGH! ~ Her laugh is intoxicating and I try to think of how I can get her to do it again. So a few months ago after I devoured Losing Hope, I immediately went to my Facebook book group and raved that she should do a book for Daniel and Six. Even though they had little interaction (that we knew of) in Hopeless and Losing Hope, I could envision that she had a story to tell for them. They literally jumped off the page, and to love someone more than Sky and Holder is a tall feat to accomplish. I read this book, and left thinking, Sky and Holder who?? ~ "I'm sorry about your broken heart," she whispers loudly. She ducks back into her bedroom and the window closes. What broken heart? I'm pretty sure this is the first time my heart has actually felt any form of relief since the moment I started dating Val. We begin the story in a maintenance closet, with two people looking for love in all the wrong places. Two people lost in the world, trying to find themselves, yet not knowing which way to turn. Flash forward one year and they meet again. I won't give away any more story line details, because trust me when I say that this tale needs to be experienced firsthand. Each page was PACKED with snarky quips, heartbreaking angst, devastating honesty, friendship, trust, and that was just the prologue! ~ Our mouths meld together like they used to be in love and they're just now seeing each other for the first time in years. I actually tried to read this book slower than normal, which for me was still pretty fast, because I DID NOT want it to end! I could have easily, and happily, read another thousand pages of Daniel and Six. The banter between him and his parents cracked me up, and I loved that they were that honest and real with their kids. Towards the end, I FELT those emotions to my core! The rocked me on my tail, taking me to depths I didn't know a book could deliver, and it is going to take a while to dig back out. Even though their story was short, I feel like it packed in everything little thing it could, all over a short time span. There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe how much I love this book. 1000 star rating from me!!!
