Description

Ryan Ever say something you regret? Like regret so hard you get the word REGRET tattooed on your arm? Same.I accidentally told my stepbrother I was in love with him when we were fourteen. In my defense, strong cough syrup was involved, but to my great regret he hasn’t missed a chance to show me how disgusting I am ever since. He damn near ruined my life. But I’m not a kid anymore, and the summer internship I scored at the best investment banking firm in San Francisco is my ticket to a perfect life. Everything is going to plan until he shows up.Malcolm My former stepbrother was supposed to fall off the face of the earth so I’d never have to look him in the eyes again, and honestly, I thought he had. The sight of him with his rock hard body in a great suit makes me feel things I’ve ignored for years. Things I’m not sure I’ll be able to avoid if I let him back into my life. And I wouldn’t except—I might need his help.In addition to learning the ropes in finance, each intern gets a hundred bucks to turn into a pile of cash by the end of summer. Whoever makes the most wins a dream career with the firm. The only rule? There are no rules. When the rest of the interns pool their money for an advantage, I have to decide whether to go it alone and risk the job, or confront my complicated history with Ryan and work together. Good thing we both claim to be straight. Otherwise, this could get complicated.Finance Bros is a hate to love MM stepbrother romance featuring pets, found family, a little angst, and lots of spice. • Malcolm and Ryans do over
Format: Kindle
5⭐️ 3🌶 Malcolm and Ryan have stolen my heart. I absolutely loved their story. August has written two very complex, fully curated, well thought-out characters. They have a complicated past that only gets more complex when they have to work together. I loved seeing them have their internal struggles that i felt made for great banter and angst between them. I absolutely loved Malcolm. He is sweet, loving, funny, and broken, but something about him called to me. His complex self and they way he presents himself worked for me. Watching him give into himself and Ryan was real growth and showed true acceptance of himself. Not that I didn't adore Ryan. How could one not love his golden retriever energy. I love that he has only ever wanted and loved Malcolm. He had some serious heartbreak to overcome. Trust issues with Malcolm stemming from childhood made him feel real and complex. Malcolm and Ryans' story is full of push and pull, real feelings of insecurity, hope, longing, fear, and ultimately happiness. They are both extremely smart and funny, so it makes for great banter, but this book isn't all laughs. they have some big tension and secrets that bring the feels. The steam between these two is filthy and delicious. August knows how to write some spice ans and did not disappoint with Malcolm and Ryan. I loved the supporting cast and can't wait to see who's book is next. ... show more

  • Best friends to enemies to lovers
Format: Kindle
Malcom and Ryan have such amazing chemistry, whether they were best friends and then when they became so much more. These two have a lot of issues, individually and then when they finally decide to try for more, as a couple. There's lots of pain, regrets on both sides and finally growth from them both. There was plenty of hilarious moments as well with wonderful side characters. ... show more

  • All the stars!!!! So, so good!
Format: Kindle
Oh my lordy. So, I pretty much always love August Jone's MM books. She said this was gonna be different, so I was nervous. However, there was absolutely zero reason for me to worry. It was absolutely incredible!! Definitely in my top 3 of her books!! Probably right behind Heir's Disgrace and then maybe tied with The Influencer for second place? I dk, point is....I freaking LOVED it! I literally was dreading the end, I didn't want it to ever be over. I guess I'd say it had more romcom vibes than her other 2 series did, and less angst (no third act breakup!!)...I am an angst lover, but it has just enough to make it amazing. She also writes side characters so freaking well...I loved them all. Ryan was god awful at communicating, but it felt so real and Mal was the sweetest and most anxious mess...he reminded me a lot of me haha. I was cracking up a lot of times, also swooning, then stressing and then sweating ...because holy moly, August can write some spice. It was steaming hot!!!!! She is also just so, so good at writing characters. They feel so absolutely real, and you feel like you are experiencing the emotions right along side them. Oh, and her epilogue's are some of the best in the game. Seriously, she just wraps the characters futures up to absolute perfection. I don't really have anything else to add. I just really vibe with her writing style. And this was another perfect 5 star book from her. I seriously cannot wait for the next book!!! ... show more

  • The only regret I have with this book is not being able to read it for the first time again ☺️
Format: Kindle
Ryan and Malcolm remind me so much of a mix between Lover Boy by Brianna Flores and For The Fans by NylaK it's like if those two books had a baby this would be it. With that being said I am a firm believer in giving every author a second chance and I'm so glad I did because this book is worth it and so much more. Malcolm struggles with so many insecurities because of things that happen as childhood but also Ryan does the same and they are polar opposites so it really stands out how much growth they have during this whole entire book. And the raw passion that is so vulnerable in the way that they communicate with each other it's like you want to just say hey let your walls down but you see the grief you see the pain and you see all the years of them not having each other and so it's so beautiful the way that they do get back together. I will see the spice it builds and it is also very vulnerable because this is something new for both of them so it's like a understanding and a finding their way together. I can't wait to see what next is done I at the end of the book love how it ended but I do want more of these two characters just because they have grown so much on me. ... show more

  • Different but good MM story about finding your person
Format: Kindle
en years apart after Ryan tells Malcolm he loved him they end up at the same summer internship. Time doesn't heal all wounds, but forgiveness might. They end up in a competition where they must face the past and each other. There are some lights and heavy moments in the book but nothing dark. Both characters try to figure out who they are what they mean to each other now that they are back in each other's lives. I loved the characters, but the book was a little long for me, so I give it 4 stars. This was a different MM story which I liked but again some chapters were too long. ... show more

  • August Jones does it again!
Format: Kindle
First, I love this book. I messaged August within chapter 1 because I was already in love with Ryan and by the end, I felt so completely connected to Malcolm. These 2 are ex step bros. They used to be besties but some deep truths caused a bit of rift. Now its years later and they end up in the same internship. They end up working together to try to win a work project. These 2 gave me life. I was in such a slump but once I started this story, I couldn't put it down. I am so excited to see more from the side characters. August remains to be one of my top one click authors so if you haven't read anything yet...hop to it. ... show more
