Bully romance, bi awakening, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, and jock/jock. This tells the story of Grant and Landon. They first met at 10 years old and Grant hated him at first sight. Grant ended up getting Landon's mother fired and they didn't see each other until 8 years later at school. They're both on the football team and Grant continues to bully him horribly. Sparks fly, fists fly, and the sexual tension is through the roof 🥵🥵🥵. My heart breaks for poor Grant. You can tell he lives with deep-seated trauma and that's why he is the way he is. He self destructs fast and lashes out heavy, but in reality, he's scared and just wants love and to feel safe. Landon is such a protector and fights for those he loves, including Grant. The spicy scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The dirty mouth on Landon. I loved the power exchange in their relationship as well. I can't wait for Javi and Declan's book! I need it now. L Waltree is such a phenomenal writer and storyteller. I need more MM books by this author. 😍 ... show more

I was a little worried about this one tbh. The Amazon reviews were all like 4 or 5 stars but the Goodreads reviews had more of a mix of ratings and some dnf so i didn't know what to expect. Be sure to read the triggers because there is some heavier themes here. I personally liked the way it was told to the reader nothing in graphic details but still enough for the reader to feel the emotions of those moments. I like how the info was kinda slowly dropped in the story mostly by Grants thoughts so we weren't just given the issues but instead slowly unraveled it as he struggled. The reader not knowing the complete story until the end. The writing was really well done. The characters all very much different and unique which is always super positive to me when they actually have different personalities. I myself was ok with the pacing of the story but I understand some people didn't like the ending wrapping up that fast and right at the very end. I adored all the characters and bonus points for well done side characters that weren't overly consuming of the story but gave enough for the world to seem real and balanced. I know Grant was hard for some to like, he was the bully after all. To me while cruel and heartbreaking towards landon I think for a bully romance he was written right in that sweet spot of not unredeemable but not soft. He was right there walking the edge for me but everyone's opinions will obviously vary on that. He still had sweetness under all the masks he wore. Landon was an amazing sweet forgiving person but not a pushover doormat and let me tell ya hard to find in the book world nowadays so yay :) The lack of 5 stars all came down to a couple personal preferences for me not the quality of the story. I don't like other people drama of any kind in books I read but I can usually deal fine if done lightly enough. Implied cheating bothers me though. I don't prefer it in storylines because it's never made up for enough because no actually cheating occurs so the characters usually get away with it as if it was no biggie. I think when it's done in stories it shows manipulation and dishonesty. I think it causes a lot of issues inside a person's head with their worth and self esteem and shows lack of trust between the characters. I know i'm silly and nobody else probably cares that much but it's just one of my weird things because if dealt with right i think it could be ok but it never usually is so not my favorite choice that's all. Also, the transition from bully to other didn't happen gradually enough, it maybe needed a little more middle ground of the mean/nice before the flip. Overall a really great story with really good characters in a world I look forward to more from :) Happy Reading! ... show more

First of all, it's been a hot minute since I finished a book in one sitting. I'm not joking when I say. I. Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down. I had to sit on this review for a bit to get my thoughts into something coherent. I'm pretty sure I've written and rewritten this review about 8 different times. My brain is a chaotic mess of everything I want to say, but my fingers are not saying it correctly. But here goes... This book is the definition of a bully romance. Do not go into this thinking it's one of those "I tripped you in the hall because I love you" kind of bully romance books. No, no, Grant makes Landon's life awful. You will spend the first 40% of this book hating Grant and rooting for Landon to beat him up. And then, WOW. The last 60% of this book was wild!! Landon, surprised the ever-loving heck out of me and Grant, omg that poor broken boy. I cannot say anything else without giving things away. Go into this book knowing that you are in for one heck of a fun ride! This book was fantastic!! ... show more
