Landon King’s Heart Preparatory Academy for Young Men. A place I don’t want to be. But it’s a good opportunity. So I take it, hoping it’ll help me land a scholarship and eventually get my family out of our tiny trailer. Though I didn’t know he’d be here. That sickly kid from my past who always tried to mess with me. Now he’s all grown up and captain of the football team I’m joining. He wants me to be miserable. He wants me to leave. But when I get too close and see everything he holds under the surface, all I want to do is stay.Grant What is he doing here? He’s from a time that no one is supposed to know about. A secret that continues to haunt me under my angry facade. I try to make him miserable. I try to make him leave. He won’t budge, threatening everything I’ve kept hidden away. • 🏈 You Make Me Feel Safe. You Are Safe With Me 🏈
Format: Kindle
"Did you know that your face glitters when you cry? I'm serious. Your tears are like diamonds. They reflect all the light. You make everything brighter in my life. Even in your sadness." "Because you settle me. Because you feed a deep part of me that I thought had been killed off. I don't understand it, but you do. And I need it. I need that feeling. You make me feel safe. Safe. Safe. Safe. Safe." WOW, this book was amazing! This is definitely a top book of 2025 for me. This is also one of the best MM bully books I have ever read. This had all the best troupes as well! Bully romance, bi awakening, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, and jock/jock. This tells the story of Grant and Landon. They first met at 10 years old and Grant hated him at first sight. Grant ended up getting Landon's mother fired and they didn't see each other until 8 years later at school. They're both on the football team and Grant continues to bully him horribly. Sparks fly, fists fly, and the sexual tension is through the roof 🥵🥵🥵. My heart breaks for poor Grant. You can tell he lives with deep-seated trauma and that's why he is the way he is. He self destructs fast and lashes out heavy, but in reality, he's scared and just wants love and to feel safe. Landon is such a protector and fights for those he loves, including Grant. The spicy scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥. The dirty mouth on Landon. I loved the power exchange in their relationship as well. I can't wait for Javi and Declan's book! I need it now. L Waltree is such a phenomenal writer and storyteller. I need more MM books by this author. 😍 ... show more

  • It was good
Format: Kindle
I really wish she dove deeper into the characters which would have added more angst. This book could have been so much more but I enjoyed reading it.

  • An Emotional Roller Coaster!
Format: Kindle
I’ve been hearing so many good things about this, and it definitely lived up to the hype for me. Went beyond it honestly. Be sure to mind your triggers with this one. I’ll preface this by saying you will probably hate Grant. His actions toe the line at times. But I found myself understanding him as the story unfolded. Things started clicking and making sense and I saw him in a whole new light. Grant is a complex character who broke my heart as his layers were peeled back. Landon’s life has been tough everyday. Having to care for his siblings as their mom tries to bring in money. He has so much riding on his shoulders, but I love that he still stays positive. He has a natural light in him that draws in others. He’s such a beautiful character. The dynamic between Grant and Landon worked and fit them. The tension was so delicious, it reminded me of why I loved bully romance. Very excited for Javi and Declan’s story. And I spied a possible third couple that I’m hoping comes true. Can’t wait to dive more into this world. ... show more

  • 3 star read
Format: Kindle
I’ve been back and forth all day on how I wanted to rate this and honestly because of how involved I am with certain indie authors, part of me felt like I needed to stray from my feelings because I know most indie authors take 3 stars as bad. I’ve decided to stay true to myself as a reader and explain myself. 3 stars isn’t bad. Not to me. It means I liked the book but I’m not part of the people who loved it, and that should be okay. Here are my thoughts. • This was advertised as a college romance but these kids are 18 and seniors in high school…. It made me uncomfortable as a 30 year old woman to read it to some degree. • How is an 18 year old virgin MC all of a sudden the perfect Dom? He only ever experimented with girls and even then that was fooling around. He admitted he had no idea what he was doing but all of a sudden, he “researched” videos one night he couldn’t sleep and then all of a sudden he was a pro at f*ngerong, scissoring, and eating the other MC out? I would have enjoyed the scenes a bit more if they were realistic. Let’s be real- how many 18 year kids are s*x gods? 😬 • A HUGE component of this book was Grant’s haunting and tragic past. Anyone who has experienced trauma before could see the signs and pretty much guess what it was. This past was pretty much the driving force for his “bullying” and why he was the way he was. Here’s my issue. I was 85% into the book and the other MC Landon still had NO idea… it was like this gigantic secret just for the ending to be rushed and have a big, pretty bow wrapped with their ending. The ending left me wanting because I’m sorry, love doesn’t cure all and it all just felt so rushed. Where were both MC’s working through this (Landon with the revelation and Grant with his trauma?). It was briefly mentioned at the end that Grant did therapy and is learning to forgive himself but it just gave more of the vibes of Landon is what made Grant better and as someone who has her own personal trauma, love doesn’t just magically cure anything. Skating over that whole ending when the abuse was the main focus didn’t make sense to me and made me feel weird. I feel like if heavy mental health topics are going to be used then we need a bit more realistic with love and HEA’s (my own opinion.) • You expect me to believe an 18 year old kid managed to scrap evidence, clean the g*n and stage a whole suicide with the cops never finding out and he got away with it? • Labeling this as a bully romance but the bullying ends so early on in the book has me confused. A true bully romance is throughout where we see the growth both emotionally and physically (intimately). They forgave each other pretty early on. This was hard insta-lust with I love you’s for no reason other than they had a connection (but as a reader I want to feel that connection.) I’m not saying this book was bad. It had soooooo much potential, but ultimately left me wanting. I am very interested to see and kind of excited to see a Javi and Declan dynamic and maybe even a Danny and Simmons (?). This is honestly just my feedback on a good book and I mean no offense. I just wished for more. ... show more

  • Slow burn but then intense heart🔥
Format: Kindle
This story was extremely well written and touched on some tough topics so make sure you read the trigger warnings. I really enjoyed this story I laughed and Giggled at certain parts and cried at others. Landon and Grants relationship was a rocky one but in the end it worked out. This story starts off as a slow burn but then some quick and intense heat happens. I look forward to reading whatever Author L. Waltree writes next 🖤 Thank you Nisha’s Books and Coffee PR for an eARC! Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Stars:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ... show more

  • nice book
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot and it wasn't predictable at all. It was just a couple storylines that weren't seen through. Like his mom couldn't afford a lawyer and his boyfriend's rich... grant didn't even offer. I didn't know the little boy liked coach till the last chapter that would have made more sense and why he was angry he went on a date. ... show more
