  • Excellent ATV sprayer
Read the instructions through first while identifying the parts. Assembly will go very smoothly. Some of the items were pre-assembled which was nice. The unit goes together very well and isn’t complicated. Follow the directions. I read one reviewer talking about the boom sprayer was going to spray the back of his ATV. The boom is adjustable!! It slides easily farther out. There’s plenty of clearance and I have a Brute Force 750. Whatever you do, DO NOT mount the unit on the front of your machine. Both the boom and the wand do a great job. I have four miles of ATV and tractor trails on my property and the near 7’ wide boom spray makes keeping the trails well groomed so much easier. The wand is great for the fence line and other direct spray tasks. Watch the video, it’s well done. Good job FIMCO. ... show more

  • Inspect for damage, take time securely mounting, tighten hose clamps, works fine.
Works good but requires attention to detail when setting it up and mine arrived with 2 broken parts but that was resolved. Megamart USA was great. I reported the damage through Amazon and they responded fast. I requested just the two broken parts but they replied that they don't do that but they would gladly get me anouther sprayer out. I think the damaged one arrrived in two days. I knew that would cost them about $150 to ship another unit and pay the return shipping on the damaged one and I hated to see that happen for about $10 in parts. The manual for the sprayer said to call Fimco at their 800 number before returning anything to the seller so I called them. They sent the 2 little parts by UPS. Unfortunately by the time the padded envelope arrived it was empty. Another call got the parts coming my way again. When I first found the damage, I had plenty of time before I needed to use the sprayer but that time was running out. So I found the needed parts on Amazone for about $11.95 total and ordered them to be sure I would have them in time even though free replacements were on the way (about a week out) from Fimco. There was zero packaging inside the cardboard box that the sprayer came it. Megamart USA put the factory box inside another snug fitting cardboard box for a little extra protection. From marks inside the inner box, it looked like the sprayer had taken a hard landing. The pump is mounted on 4 rubber mounts that slide onto the frame of the pump motor. All of those had popped off which let the weight of the pump pull on one of the hoses. That broke off the intake fitting of the pump. It's easily removed/replaced without tools though. The nozzle assembly on the spray want was the other part that was broken off. IMO Fimco should take at least a little effort to protect their product from the expected rough handling they will get during Fedex/Amazon/UPS shipping. Now for the sprayer itself. The mounts are two flat strips of some type of plastic. The tank has 4 squares of a tougher plastic molded into the bottom and those are threaded. Each flat strip has a selection of bolt holes to fasten them to the 4 squares in the tank. Then there are depressed slots over the top of the tank intended for tie downs to strap the tank assembly to the rack of the ATV. Those plastic strips are really slick and on their own will probably slide all over the rack even with some straps holding the tank. My ATV rack is tubular but many are covered with a pastic tray which I would think would even be more of a problem. I chose to mount the plastic stripts to a sheet of OSB plywood I had laying around and then mounted the OSB to the ATV rack with Ubolts. I still used straps over the tank because with it nearly full and the contents sloshing around, there would be a lot of back and forth tugging on those little squares molded into the bottom of the tank. One oddity with the plastic strips is that where you might want to bolt it down, there is a step where that part of the strip doesn't set on the surface below. If you tighten a bolt there without a spacer underneath, you'd probably break the strip. See my photos. For wiring, a cord is supplied that has an inline switch and small battery cable clips (large alligator clips). Depending on where your batter is mounted, that might be a problem. Many ATVs have their battery under the seat and there's not going to be room there for those clamps. One workaround might be to follow the HOT positive lead to the starter solenoid and clip on the clamp on there instead of the battery post. My battery is behind the seat but under the area where the sprayer sits so I didn't have good access. I also didn't want that cord running forward to a place where I could work the switch and there wasn't going to be a neat way to route it without sitting on it. Yes, it can work but it's a sloppy arrangment. I suspect this is common to most models and most brands. The plastic strips I mentioned hold and adjustment for the rearward extension of the spray bar mounts. You can quickly slide them about maybe 8-10" to get them farther from the back of the ATV. I was a little concerned about my exhaust blowing on the spray pattern but that wasn't a problem. Advanced wiring DIY option: I never use the headlights on my ATV so I disconnted them. Then I disconnected the tail light (I don't have a brake light) and connected the trigger line of a 40 amp relay to my tailight wire. I had the terminal ends available so I didn't have to hack up the wiring harness on my ATV. A relay is just a switch that can be turned on from somewhere else. The headlight switch and wiring may not be heavy enough to handle the current the pump draws so I had the headlight switch (stock and on the left side of my handlebars) turn on the relay via the tail light wire. One side of the relay gets power (to supply the pump) from the nearby battery and the other side is connected to the pump red wire. The pump is grounded all the time through it's small harness. Now I can use the convieinient and neat stock headlight switch to turn the pump off and on and don't even have to take my hands off of the handlebars. I didn't measure the amp draw but it must be under 10amp because that's the fuse that's supplied on the pump. Usage: Don't be a goodball like me, twice. First, the manual mentions in a large way that there is a valve under the front of the tank that has to be on before the pump can draw liquid from the tank. Yeah, I see that. I guess people call for support when they don't turn the valve on. At my first test with plain water, I put about 2 inches of water in the tank and tried to make it work. No joy so I added a lot of water. It still wouldn't prime. THEN I remembered that I didn't turn that valve on. The second mistake I made was filling the tank after carefully calculating how my glyphosate and surfactant I needed and driving off after I laid the garden hose down. I didn't put the huge lid on the tank and splashed it all over my ATV and a little on my lower back. I had to remove some of my clothes and rinse them and myself off. Consider wearing a raincoat when you operate your sprayer. If any one of several hoses or fitting break during operation, you will be covered in whater chemical you're spraying. Some chemicals are capable of doing really bad things to you that you won't know about for a long time. Be careful. Tighten (but don't overtight) every hose clamp you can find on the sprayer fittings. I think everyone of mine was too loose. Upgrade idea, buy another valve that's on the bottom of the tank going to the pump and put it on the drain port on the right hand side of the tank. It makes draining much neater instead of removing the supplied cap and having chemical pout onto your hand. I did that but I need to make a guard to keep brush or anything else from hitting the valve and breaking it off. The sprayer puts out a good pattern that is about 7' wide when you run it at 20-30psi and 2mph. If you have many acres to cover, this is going to take awhile. I spent about 2 1/2 hours spraying about 45 gallons of mix counting my time to stop and refill at a big gravel lot. It will work great when I spray our 800' long gravel driveway. I've used sprayers similar to this one before. Learn from my experience and wash out the tank and flush out the lines, pump, and nozzles very well right after you finish spraying. Some chemicals including Roundup / Glyphosate will turn to goo if you wait too long and you'll be buying pump parts or a pump. It's better to spend the time today cleaning out the system than taking it apart the next time you need it and it won't work. ... show more

  • Great unit if you use common sense when installing and assembling.
Where do i start i was hesitant about keeping this sprayer even went to the trouble to start the return process. Here is why: tried to mount sprayer on the rear of my atv fit ok?on the rack the position/angle was really awkward the drain was in the middle of the fender. Boom sprayer was such that is was going to spray the back of the atv. After some thought decided to try it on the front rack fit perfectly and spray boom at good hight. Installed a shield behind the boom so to keep the mist from coming back onto me and the atv. With a good bit of tweaking i was able to make this unit workout just fine and quality satisfactory at this point i have only used it once. I found that no matter what i bought it was going to that Need some tweaking. I would like if the on/off switch was near the handle bars rather than under the seat only for safety reasons for quick shut down Incase of leak or rupture of lines. ... show more

  • Leak in Drain
Pump functions great. My only criticism is that the drain leaks, a slow drip. This means that if I spray all of the contents I'm fine but if not, it leaks continually and makes a mess and wastes expensive chemical.

  • Junk
At least the warranty is good. Sprayer worked great the first year. Second year the the pump shorted out. Bought new pump at TSC because I needed it that weekend. Then the outflow barb broke off the tank, had to rig it with a brass fitting. One month after replacing the pump the pressure switch played out. Called fimco and they sent a new one out no questions. Really not what you expect from a $300 product on quality ... show more

  • Worked well.
Easy assembly. Follow directions. When you put it together there is a valve at the bottom of the supply line that is in the off position. Turn it on. This is not mentioned in the directions.

  • Good sprayer, cheap pressure gauge
After 30 gallons I'm impressed except the pressure gauge failed after 20. Replaced with a camber. 2 plastic clips didn't make in the package.
