This unit seems to work perfectly but if it is sitting on the ground, our chickens are going to knock it over and water is going to flood out into the chicken pen until we happen to notice it. If you hang it carefully and securely, it works great. Update: one of the water cups broke off and water ran into the pen for hours. These cups should be stout enough to stand up to whatever the chickens can hand out. But apparently not. From otherwise useful product, this was a disappointment

Bought this thinking it would be perfect for my chickens boy was I wrong. I hooked it up May 28th and today I go out to do my daily check on my ladies and no water, totally quit working. Past the return window so that's a no go. The worst part is I work long days and figured this would give me peace of mind. Its 105° today and I get home to my poor chickens panting from lack of water. Don't buy it. It's a piece of crap. Update; I contacted the seller expecting no reply. I was wrong g with a few hours they replied they were sending a replacement with the sincerest of apologies. Having a company make it right goes a long ways in my book. They also added a 6 month warranty .

I got this because I'm tire of lugging water out to the chicken coop. It was fairly easy to set up. I hooked up the water and it did it's thing. Filled up and the float stopped the water flow. HOWEVER, I go back out 2 hours later and it had continued to fill and was overflowing onto the floor. I messed with the float repeatedly and it just would not stop running water. If you've never had a flooded coop, well, lets just say it is extremely unpleasant to clean up. I have this hooked up to a water line with about 20 psi, so no problem there. I happened to have an extra ball float laying around and installed that and it worked perfectly. But I noticed there was still water dripping from the bottom. At least it wasnt running out of the top any more. The holes that are drilled in the bottom for the drip nozzles are just a bit too big. They only include one tiny gasket instead of two and if you tighten it, that gasket gets partially mashed down in that hole, thus creating a gap somewhere. I could go find better gaskets, but at this point, I've already added a $10 float and more leg work to fix this piece of junk was not what I ordered it for. It is cheap, thin, flimsy plastic. The container only holds about a gallon of water if the float is working properly. And the company offers no customer service. Amazon offered customer service, but they have no way to contact the company so I just got a refund and this thing went in the trash.

I found the legs very difficult to install, but after succeeding I took them out and installed it on a wooden "good neighbor" fence. The instructions for doing that were not very clear. On a positive note it comes with several different types of water source connectors. Update 2 1/2 months after purchase: I have 4 full-size hens in a run that measures about 5"x10" with a compacted straw base. When the hens get excited they tend to knock the top off of the water tank and dirt and small feathers gets inside. Today I noticed that besides the dirt, there was a lot of algae, which given that the tank is screwed into the fence, makes it very difficult to clean. The feeder cups also get very dirty and need to be hosed out every couple of days. Today I uninstalled the waterer and reinstalled what I used before which is a simple, saucer shaped bowl about 6 inches in diameter attached at the center to a garden hose. It has the same problem with dirt, but no algae problems and it's MUCH easier to clean.

This made providing water for our chickens much less of a hassle than the 3 gal water container we previously held. While this container is quite small visually a quick 3-5 min fill each day is sufficient to fill it up. It's easy to hook up to a hose and easy to assemble. Highly recommended.

It is very hot where I live in California my chickens run out of water constantly. especially because the ducks are always splashing water everywhere. so far this product has done exactly what it says keeps the water fresh and I never have to worry about them running out of water when I am not home. I have been using it for two weeks now maybe more and I have had no issues yet. I will update if I come into any issues.

I have a larger chicken waterer that I've been using for a good while now. The only downside is that you had to unscrew it from the base to refill it. Because of that my kids stopped watering the chickens. Unfortunately that left it up to me. I wasn't a big fan of having to do it since I don't care to have chickens anyway. I was looking for something my kids could just take the top off and refill so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I found this, and it made it better that you could just leave the hose connected to it. I haven't connected a hose to it yet but hopefully will get that done soon. The only downsides to this are 1. I wish it were a little bigger to hold more water. 2. I wish it were taller. Even using the included taller legs it seems like it's still a little low to the ground. Despite those 2 things I'm still a fan.
