The beautiful Filofax Personal Malden ochre organiser in vintage-look buffalo leather with rustic stitching and a soft, casual construction is perfect for any occasion. This organiser has a stylish tab fastening with a pen loop incorporated into the closure. Inside the front cover there is a vertical zip pocket and four credit card pockets. The media could not be loaded. Update: after 4 months of use, this planner is even more beautiful, it’s starting to show a very nice patina, it’s a richer, darker brown and it’s softer than ever. Very happy with my purchase. I bought this Filofax Malden in personal size from Amazon. It was “used - as new” and it arrived in perfect condition. I’m assuming it was a return because it doesn’t look used at all. Probably someone didn’t like it and sent it back. I love it! It’s beautiful, soft and squishy. The rings are perfectly aligned, it holds a lot, looks, feels and smells like real leather, definitely not a fake. It is different from my other ochre Malden planner in pocket size that is a bit darker and shinier than this one but that’s how the Malden is. No two Maldens are the same. I own 3 in different sizes/ colors and they are all different. Doesn’t mean they’re fake; just different. Having said that - I looked at the pictures someone posted of a yellowish planner with almost purple zipper - I don’t know what that is about, it looks weird to me too. I’m not sure why people are stating it’s a fake. I’m assuming they are concerned because the leather initially presents in a brighter color. This is because over time, with natural oils and wear it will darken. The stitching is that of any Filofax on the market. Sturdy and bold. I’m in love.

This Filofax Malden in ochre was a nice color. However, the leather felt more plastic than leather and the rings had gaps. Filofax change the Malden leather cover which I do not care for. So, I will have to order on ebay, mercari, or posh to find the older leather I like.

This is the second Malden I’ve owned. My other one has gone missing after moving so I just decided to order another. Packaging appeared to be brand new, but when I opened it, there was a huge stain in the top right corner. I chose to overlook it. Then noticed there were paperclips inside the zipper pocket inside the planner which leads me to believe this is a slightly used item. Considering the cost, that has left me slightly disappointed. I enjoy planning and decorating my planner, so the cosmetic issue does bother me but I’ll use it anyway. ... show more

Appears to be new and came in the usual FiloFax packaging. Unfortunately, this is a Celebrating 100 Years 2021 version, so it comes with the “Week On Two Pages Diary” in Cotton Cream for the year 2021, so I’ll need to order current inserts. Rings aren’t absolutely perfect but it’s manageable. There are 2 black spots on the cover (perhaps a tanning defect). It feels really nice. The appearance is new (apart from the black spots). I look forward to breaking in the leather. The actual Filofax website was out of the Ocher color, so this was my other option (or a used one). The price here also went down ~$10 the following day after ordering... *ugh* ... show more

    • Impractical and Inferior to Malden A5

Unfortunately, I have to return this because the rings in mine arrived misaligned making for a difficult page turn. I have owned many Filofaxes over the years, and have not had such a problem until now. I was disappointed because I have the Malden in A5 (two colors) and they are terrific but the design and layout in the personal size just doesn't work to well (misaligned rings, aside). I write on the pages directly inside of my filofax and the zipper placement was problematic. If I wanted to write on left side of the planner towards the top (as you do...), I was writing directly on the big lump of a zipper pull, making that part of the page which sits on top of it unusable. The pen loop size was a joke, unable to accommodate even a normal sized pen. The color and texture was very different than my A5, not sure if the fact that this one was made in India had anything to do with it (I think the A5 was made in China or the UK). The color was very drab without any texture to it. I really wanted to like it, and was hoping that I could just exchange it for one with working rings, but all of the other issues made me decide that I just wanted my money back. ... show more
