  • Got it for my kid, but keeping for myself
Color: Natural
Since this is called a "beginner guitar," I thought it was going to sound pretty bad, but was ok with that since I was going to give it to my 8 year old to learn on. But I was pleasantly surprised when we actually got it. It's nothing special and not going to make anyone jealous or anything, but it's loads better than the super flat sounding guitar my parents spent $200 on when I first learned guitar (they got ripped off!). It's a nice, basic guitar for a good price. The neck is slim and easy to play, the sound is very clear and not muddy at all. I'm actually really happy with it. I haven't tried the free lessons yet. For reference, I am by no means an expert musician or even a musician at all. I'm just someone who grew up in a household that plays guitar and sings every single day even though we're not particularly good at it 😆. So my use is more utilitarian rather than art. ... show more

  • When I say 'five stars,' I mean for a playable, affordable instrument or beginners
Color: Natural
Let's be realistic. This isn't a Martin D-28. The sound is pretty thin, dare I say brittle? Though I would expect the sound to improve marginally over time, this isn't going to impress anyone. But this isn't the kind of guitar you buy to impress anyone. This is the kind of guitar that you buy to test the waters... Are you or your student even going to be playing it in 6 months? If the answer is yes, more than likely you would be better off selling it for some portion of its value and reinvesting that into a better instrument. But you can cross that bridge when you come to it. In the meantime, this guitar will serve you pretty well. It plays decently, holds its intonation, and won't let you down. You'll just grow right past it and it won't take long. So this thing is just fine for what it is. Five stars for fulfilling its value proposition at the right price point. ... show more

  • NOT A FENDER
Color: Sunburst
So to preface this review I was a guitar player in my teenage years, I switched over to other instruments in life and purchased this guitar to get back into playing around with it. I know Fender when I see it. Could I spot a professional quality fake? Probably not but this is merely a Chinese counterfeit of an FA-125. Now that being said it’s a pretty good 100 dollar guitar. I would buy it again as this is a good little camping or beach guitar. ... show more

  • Great guitar - for serious kid or curious adult
Color: Natural
We were impressed with the quality of this guitar out of the box - for $100, you can't get much better. My partner is a musician, and his recommendation was basically this - if you have/know a kid that's serious about learning to play, get this for them (you may not want to spend more unless the kid you have in mind takes great care of their stuff, then you may consider getting a higher quality, more costly guitar). Or if you're an adult that's not quite sure if you're going to commit to playing, get this. For adults that are reasonably committed to learning, you can get better for a higher price. I'm not musically inclined/experienced, so it sounded great to me out of the box after my partner tuned it. It is lightweight, comfortable to hold, and honestly better quality than I expected for the price. ... show more

  • Fender Quality
Color: Natural
This little acoustic guitar tuned up and played beautifully out of the box. I'm a few decades beyond a beginner, which is the intended audience for this instrument, but I would have no problem strumming it on the regular. I should pass it on to a beginner, since it comes with a few months of lessons, and a rockstar 2-year Fender warranty, but I can see it in my arms at a campfire or five this summer as well. This is a full-fledged Fender. There's no Squire logo to embarrass you if you play it in public. There are also no electronics. This is an acoustic guitar. But, I did try a hole-mount pickup out of curiosity and it sounded great plugged in. Does this compare to some of my top-shelf, expensive guitars? No. Does it blow every other acoustic in its price range I have played off the stage? Sure does. I would definitely suggest this to a serious beginner, or someone looking for a reliable beater. I liked this guitar, and those who heard me play it, couldn't believe it was an entry level instrument. Suggested. ... show more

  • Good for the price

  • Great beginner guitar
Color: Natural
There is nothing fancy about this guitar. It has no electronics in it at all. Just a pure acoustic guitar. It sounds great for the price. It is constructed of full wood. There is no plastic back like you expect from a cheap guitar. I would be tempted to add on an acoustic pickup for this guitar and see how it sounds live. I am impressed with the sound quality of it. It would be great for a beginner or someone who has been playing for a while and needs a campfire or practice guitar. I wish it came with a case, but that is not a big deal to get. ... show more

  • My first guitar!
Color: Natural
I'm not a trained musician but I got this because it comes with 3 months of free lessons and the name Fender is trusted. The quality for the price really blew my mind! The matte finish is superb. I am an artist and I know a quality finish when I see it! I think it sounds very nice but again, I'm a beginner. There is no case, strap, etc. But other than that, it is extremely gifable! It does come pre-strung and with a few picks to get started right out of the box. If you're on the fence, go for it! I really don't think you'll be disappointed at $75! ... show more
