This gets five stars for the machine. Not so much for the "accessories". The goggles are handy and they work even though they look like a toy. The chipping hammer pretty much is like a toy you would give a child that is pretending like he is a welder. The carrying case, although a great idea, is a bit small. I would recommend when you unbox this to take a picture of how they had everything packed in that carrying case before you take anything out because it is like a puzzle to get everything to fit back inside. All in all though, for the price I believe it to be worth it. Especially for The random repair one might need to make. It is so much handier than digging out the big welder, putting fuel in it, putting the leads back on and getting it started and all of that work just to weld one bead. When I have something needing repaired it is been much easier in the past to just take it down to the welding shop and give them 20 bucks to fix up whatever I haven't needs welded. This machine will pay for itself in that regard. I guess we shall see how long it lasts and if it fails I will update my review. But it seems like it is well made and so far I am impressed.

The FEMEROL Handheld Welder kit is a good starter kit for a beginning welder. The welding kit arrived in excellent condition with all kit items safely package in a nice plastic carry/storage case, and the case inside a sturdy cardboard box lined with dense foam. This is very nice packaging for a great product! Everything needed to start welding is included in the kit and stores in the case! The case is sturdy and should work well with care. The welder is hand-held and balanced well. Once setup with a welding rod and plugged into a 110V outlet, the welder is ready to go. User controls are on the welder...simple and convenient! Keeping the product hand-held and portable comes with trade-offs. The welder is heavy in the hand and extended use can introduce fatigue. Additionally, as a 110V welder, this welder is best suited for lightweight welding projects using lightweight steel and associated welding rods. The #422 welding rods included in the kit are a definite clue here. These rods are similar to E6013 rods and compatible with low-voltage welders and lower mechanical strength welds. The grounding cord is heavy duty with a nice clamp. The cord securely attaches to the bottom of the welder. The wire brush is ok and fine for getting started with welding. Plan on replacing that brush soon The welding goggle are pretty nifty and the lens does auto-darken...which is cool! The welding shield is medium-weight plastic. A rectangular lens snaps into the viewing hole and the shield edges fold and snap secure at the corners. The shield provides little top protection. So, be sure to at least wear a cotton cap to help protect head and hair. A long sleeve cotton shirt should be worn with the included short length gloves. A good instruction booklet is included in the kit. And, a nylon storage bag helps keep all accessories grouped together and tidy. This is well-designed, great value, all-in-one kit for a beginner welder or for portable welding needs. Over time, expect to upgrade a few accessories to continue enjoying this handy, complete, and versatile welder kit.

This handheld welder by FEMEROL is one of the coolest welders I think I've ever seen. As technology gets more advanced these welders get smaller and lighter every time one is released. The IGBT inverter technology that this welder uses is absolutely incredible. It allows for the use of 110 volt household current out of any outlet to operate One of the most sophisticated welders on the market. Usually 110 volt welders are not very efficient however, due to this technology they have become the new standard in the industry. I ran a couple of welds with this welder and I have to tell you I couldn't have been more impressed. The lift arc feature allows for smooth operation without worrying about having your welding rod stick. A beginner could operate this welder efficiently and with ease. This is a perfect welder for any contractor or hobbyist. I'm an electrical contractor by trade and restore muscle cars as a hobby and this welder is perfect for out in the field use. I can't tell you how many times we have needed a welder to repair something on an excavator or backhoe of ours and it's a huge problem because of the lack of power. This welder will end all of that. It's also the perfect welder for anything that you could come across in the restoration world. Perfect for sheet metal all the way up to heavy gauge steel. And again, the beautiful thing is that it's 110 volts and can be plugged in virtually anywhere. It's ultralight, well balanced and weighs in at under 3 1/2 pounds which makes for the perfect handheld welder. The last thing you want is a heavy bulky unbalanced gun in your hand. It's like working with a spool gun except that the entire welder is in the palm of your hand. The rod holder is capable of holding 3/32" to 1/8" welding rods and it's capable of handling stainless steel, carbon steel, iron, and many other metals. The digital display is crystal clear and bright, easy to see and the amperage adjustment knob is large and easily accessible. This welder is adjustable on the fly from 20 amps all the way up to 120 amps and because of the inverter technology it's a true 120 amps. This is important because it allows the machine to run smooth and eliminates rod sticking. The welder operates on high no-load voltage and intelligent auto compensation. This dramatically adjusts welding conditions in real time preventing burn through and maintains stability throughout the welds. The kit includes a hard case, welder, ground lead with clamp, gloves, assortment of rods, welding shield, a pair of auto darkening goggles, a cool nylon carry bag to carry everything in, chipping hammer and brush. Everything included to start welding right out of the box. It's hard to believe that you get all of this for under $75. These welders are so affordable in fact, that it's pretty easy to justify having more than one. This handheld welder from FEMEROL definitely gets two thumbs up 👍👍!

so it works but dont ever use the included auto dark shades without full face uv protection. i used with 7018 and 6013 3/32 rods at 36amps and i ran it at 120 amps to see if it would and it burnt thru the plate i was testing with. the best part is it uses standard lead connectors!!! so i just connevted a stinger and thats the only way i use it.

I'm no professional welder, but I have basic knowledge and have YouTube university of course. This welder worked very well with heavier gauge steel. On lighter thinner gauge steel, when I was able to finally get an arc, it continued to melt through. Even at 30amps it would burn through it. I ran a few lines on heavier stuff and once you get the arc down, it works very very well. The new technology of inverter welders is obviously something to get excited about. Previous portable welders you could never ever get to arc, and if you did it would just stick (at least for me) this one I am able to lay down a bead so thumbs up for sure. The gun it fairly large and cumbersome, but obviously to be expected. It's craftsmanship seems to be well thought out with connections feeling secure attaching the included ground clamp and rod holder. The hard case seems to be decent but you have to remove the rod holder from the front, and you cannot leave the ground clamp attached when putting it up for storage in the case. Slight downfall about that but minor gripe. Having the included case makes it somewhat portable for jobs outside of the shop. The fact that it works on 110v and works so well, I'd recommend this product and I do plan on getting a ton of use out of it. I am going to buy various sized rods and plan to use this for exhaust work. The accessories I do not feel are adequate and would recommend replacing after practicing with the welder. It's great for basic testing/tiny job. A good value for this welder though, it works extremely well. Pros I like: • Works very well on heavier gauge steel once you get the arc • Inverter technology makes it much easier to strike and maintain an arc compared to older portables • Runs on 110v and is portable with the included case • Good craftsmanship on connections and gun • Great value for the performance on basic jobs Cons/Notes: • Burns through lighter/thinner gauge steel even at 30 amps • Gun is fairly large and cumbersome • Case requires removing rod holder and ground clamp for storage • Accessories (rods, etc.) are basic — better to replace after practice

I’ve been curious to see how a handheld unit like this actually performs compared to a traditional setup. I’m still in the learning phase of welding, with my only real background being some time spent with a flux core machine, so I don’t have a massive frame of reference for stick welding. However, the concept here is fantastic. I’ve been traveling with a vintage camper, and the idea of being able to toss this in the truck for long road trips is a huge plus. If I run into a pinch on the side of the road, I can pair this with my generator to handle a quick repair without sacrificing the cargo space a full-sized welder would require. In practice, it seems to work okay for basic tasks. I ran some test beads on scrap steel and found there's a bit of a learning curve with the positioning. Initially, I was struggling with a weak arc and kept sticking the electrode to the workpiece, but once I found the right angle, it started behaving much better and maintained a steady arc. One quirk I noticed is that the electronics act a bit strange; as soon as I plug it in, the fan kicks on and the display lights up to around 17-18v even with the switch in the off position. When I actually flip it to "on," the voltage drops to 15v. The manual is pretty tough to decipher due to some poor translations, so I’m not entirely sure if that’s a defect or just how the circuitry is designed. The kit comes in a decent carrying case with the essentials to get started, but I’d suggest being cautious with the included safety gear. The provided mask and gloves feel a bit subpar, so I’d definitely recommend picking up a legitimate welding helmet and some heavy-duty gloves separately before you really get to work. For a portable backup or a space-saving tool for light repairs, it’s a clever piece of gear to have in the kit.

We gave this as a gift to a friend who likes working on cars and doing garage projects, and he was really excited about it. The compact handheld design makes it feel much less intimidating than larger traditional welders, especially for smaller jobs and home use. The machine itself feels surprisingly solid for the size, and the included auto-darkening goggles were a nice addition. It’s portable enough to move around easily without taking up a huge amount of space, which seemed really convenient for DIY work. From what he told us, it handled basic welding tasks well and was straightforward to set up. Overall, it seemed like a really nice option for hobbyists, beginners, or anyone wanting a portable welder for smaller projects around the house or garage.
