Description

These pruning shears / secateurs have an ingenious design which makes them ideal for your heavy-duty cutting tasks. The superior ergonomics are especially suitable for anyone with larger hands filling you with a confidence that begins with the robust foundation of the tool’s firm and comfortable grip. With an angled cutting head design the FELCO 8 immediately becomes a natural extension of your hand, making you more efficient as you move from one pruning job to the next. The Felco ergonomic hand pruner sports a strong anvil blade and is an ideal choice for light day-to-day pruning. Users will benefit from the pruner's lightweight construction and handle design that resists slipping. Easy to use, the pruner tackles tasks such as cutting back an overgrown hydrangea or removing a sickly pansy patch with minimal stress on user hands and wrists. The pruner's anvil blades are crafted with hardened Swiss carbon steel blades that offer frictionless slicing and resist rust. With a fine blade adjustment and a wire cutting notch, the blades easily cut through branches, stems, and wires up to 1-inch in diameter. The light metal handles are forged for durability and pivot on tough, replaceable pins rather standard rivets. A cushioned stop keeps the blades from opening unexpectedly or overly wide. The pruner measures 8-1/2 inches long and weighs only 8.7-ounces, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

  • Excellent shears -- lives up to its reputation
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
Quality construction, up for the job, comfortable -- does not cause me to overuse my hand strength. I am so happy that I read the reviews from seasoned gardeners/landscapers and opted for the Felco 2 instead of a cheaper brand on black Friday. It is so important to purchase products that deliver value. For me, value goes beyond the price tag. I look forward to enjoying many years of use with my Felco pruning shears. ... show more

  • Best heavy duty cutting pruner
Size: F31 Large Anvil Hand Orientation: Right
Bet cutting pruner. Especially the thick branches. Heavy duty, well made, and made to last. It cost more but makes the work easier and you get more done in less time. I've tried several pruners. I like this pruner the best .

  • A High-Quality Tool Made For A Lifetime Of Use.
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
I had a Felco pruner and loved it. But once my partner became interested in gardening, too, it disappeared. I'm not sure all women appreciate a good tool as some men do. Anyway, I missed my pruners, and bought a new Felco F2. Pricey: many times more expensive than all others. But I got it today, and spent some time examining it and smiling at its excellent, thoughtful construction. Unfortunately, those qualities seem to be declining in favor of meeting a specific price-point. You can take it completely apart. Felco even provides a small wrench tool to accomplish that (!). You can replace or sharpen the main blade yourself, which I enjoy doing. It's solid, even a little weighty for some folks. And Felco backs these pruners with a reasonable lifetime guarantee. Just amazing. I appreciate good tools that exhibit craftsmanship and quality, and this is a very, very good one. ... show more

  • worth it!
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
wow what a powerhouse! these sharp shears glide through the canes of my 3 year old rosebushes cleanly and completely. they did not crush the canes big or small, even when I had to use both hands to power through the thickest ones. they did not rip and leave those torn green peelings I got with cheaper shears that sometimes left a lot of damage. this is the best pair of shears I have ever owned and I've been gardening for ages. I waited for one of the big sales, and I finally bought the best. love that replacement parts are available open stock. worth every penny. very highly recommended. ... show more

  • Super shears but they require a large hand
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
Super shears. But they do require a large hand. I use a hand-held sharpener and some light oil after using these shears, and they hold up well to any reasonable challenge. These are more expensive than other name brands, and MUCH more expensive than cheap junk. "Buy once, cry once" applies here. I recently ordered another pair for my son, who shares the family trait of males with large hands. ... show more

  • My best shears
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
These are the only garden shears I will buy. They are a great fit for my hand, very well made, sharp, and not too heavy. I also love that you can take them apart to clean and sharpen.

  • F-8 very nice. Best for larger hands. Tried an F-6 too.
Size: F8 Large Ergo Hand Orientation: Right
This Felco F-8 is an excellent bypass pruner. It is a little heavy and a holster (Felco F-912 Leather Scabbard Holster with Belt Clip) is a good accessory. However, the F-8 seems best for larger hands. I have short hands/fingers, and so I also tried a Felco F-6 (Felco F-6 Classic Pruner For Smaller Hands), which is the same pruner made for smaller hands. Frankly, the F-6 was not much of an improvement for me, so I stuck with the F-8. The F-6 has a significantly smaller cutting capacity compared to the F-8, although the difference might not matter for ordinary flower gardening. F-6 specs: Length 7 1/4 inches, Weight 7.5 ounces. Recommended cutting capacity is 0.8 inches. F-8 specs: Length 8 1/4 inches, Weight 8.7 ounces. Recommended cutting capacity is 1.0 inches. Sharpening this type pruner is easy and requires no dissassembly(see Felco's directions/instructions). Use the Corona Clipper AC 8300 Sharpening Tool. And if you don't keep them sharp (and lightly oiled) they will soon dull and rust and be no better than a much less expensive pruner that is dull and rusted. If you don't think you'll maintain the tool maybe get one of these instead: 1. Corona Clipper BP 3180 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner with Vinyl Coated Steel Handles. I've used this compact pruner in the past and they work fine if maintained. If not maintained, they'll dull and rust too, but they're still less than half the price of the Felco. The quality is nothing like the Felco's, but they're cheap, small and light. 2. Corona Clipper 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner With Vinyl Coated Aluminum Handles BP 6250. I haven't seen these, but they look like a Felco knock-off. They might be the best value for the money regardless of brand. In my opinion, while I haven't used them, for the average gardener the Corona Clipper 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner With Vinyl Coated Aluminum Handles BP 6250 is probably the most sensible choice out of all those listed herein (including the Felco's). Corona is a good brand for most homeowners, and their products are widely available at local stores selling gardening supplies. Honestly the Felco is overkill for most home gardeners. Really for pros. ... show more

  • Love these pruners
Size: F2 Large Original Hand Orientation: Right
I got my first pair of Felcos in 1990 when I worked in a nursery/garden center after class when I was in high school. Abused the bajeebers out of them for the next 30 years. I replaced the blade once. I still have and use them in 2025/26. Bought a new pair for myself for Father’s Day and they’re so nice I want to frame them and hang them on the wall. These are great, high-quality tools. ... show more
